Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the domestic intelligence and security service of the United

States, which simultaneously serves as the nation's prime federal law enforcement organization.
Operating under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI is concurrently a member of the
U.S. Intelligence Community and reports to both the Attorney General and the Director of National
Intelligence. A leading U.S. counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and criminal investigative organization,
FBI has jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes. (or British MI5,Russian
FSB.)

United States Marshals Service (USMS) is a U.S. federal law enforcement agency within the U.S.
Department of Justice. The Marshals Service is the oldest American federal law enforcement agency.[4]
The U.S. Marshals office was created by the Judiciary Act of 1789. The Marshals Service is part of the
executive branch of government, and is the enforcement arm of the U.S. federal courts. The Marshals
Service is the primary agency for fugitive operations, responsible for prisoner transport, the protection
of officers of the court, and for the effective operation of the judiciary. The Marshals Service operates
the Witness Protection Program, and serves federal level arrest warrants.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is a federal law enforcement organization
within the United States Department of Justice.[4] Its responsibilities include the investigation and
prevention of federal offenses involving the unlawful use, manufacture, and possession of firearms and
explosives; acts of arson and bombings; and illegal trafficking of alcohol and tobacco products. The ATF
also regulates via licensing the sale, possession, and transportation of firearms, ammunition, and
explosives in interstate commerce. Many of ATF's activities are carried out in conjunction with task forces
made up of state and local law enforcement officers, such as Project Safe Neighborhoods. ATF operates a
unique fire research laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland, where full-scale mock-ups of criminal arson can
be reconstructed.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a United States federal law enforcement agency under
the U.S. Department of Justice, tasked with combating drug smuggling and use within the United States.

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is a cabinet department of the United States
federal government, created in response to the September 11 attacks, and with the primary
responsibilities of protecting the territory of the United States and protectorates from and responding to
terrorist attacks, man-made accidents, and natural disasters.

The Gendarmerie Corps of Vatican City State is the gendarmerie, or police and security force, of Vatican
City and the extraterritorial properties of the Holy See.

Major City Detective is an investigator, usually a member of a law enforcement agency. Some are private
persons, and may be known as private investigators or "private eyes". Informally, and primarily in fiction,
a detective is any licensed or unlicensed person who solves crimes, including historical crimes, by
examining and evaluating clues and personal records in order to uncover the identity and/or
whereabouts of the criminal.
