DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Daylight savings time is active from 30 March to 30 October.

During this period, the clock will automatically shift forward one hour.
This means that between 01:59 and 02:00 on 30 March the clock will automatically
shift forward one hour.
So one minute after 01:59 the clock will show 03:00 (daylight savings time).

Between 01:59 and 02:00 on 30 October the machine returns to Standard time.
When the time is 01:59 the machine will shift back 1 hour displaying 01:00.

Daylight savings time will be triggered again on 30 March.

Daylight savings time is enabled only if Ora Legale (Daylightsav Time) is set to

In STOP function, cut power off, and power the machine on again.

After restarting the machine, press the Pasteurization or Increase button

for 10”. The machine will check the correct MWG teleservice device connection, and
will display the result of such check:

MWG OK correct connection

NO MWG the main control unit (TC board) does not communicate with the MWG
control unit.
PRODUCTION

Production can be accessed only if mix is above the minimum levels.

The mix is cooled in the cylinder until it reaches the HOT consistency programmed in
step HOT (see programming table).
When the desired consistency is reached (Hot), the beater keeps on running for 3
more seconds (or for the time programmed in step Ritardo Agit. 1 - Delay
Beater1 ), and then it stops.
At this point, if necessary, the hopper switches to Storage mode if TEV (the higher of
the two) >Temp.Conservaz. - Storage Temp

When HOT has been reached, if no cone is dispensed, the beater is activated for
about 10 seconds every 10 minutes (Timer Ciclico - Cyclic Timer) in order to
check the ice cream's consistency: if it is lower than HOT (LH or RH depending on
the side) – Isteresi Hot 1 (Hot 1 Different.) the compressor will be activated as
well, together with the relative solenoid valve (EVFC), in order to restore the set ice
cream consistency.
All the above mentioned actions are carried out for both side 1 and side 2.

If HOT has already been reached and the machine is waiting for Production mode to
be activated, once a cone is dispensed the beater motor will be activated for about
15 seconds to check the consistency.
Even by pressing the Cleaning button the beater is manually forced to restart.
During production, when mix low level in the hopper is below minimum level, only
the number of cones set at step Ultimi Coni - Last Cones can be dispensed. The
display shows the message Mix Esaurita Sx - Mix OutLeftin the first line, and
the second line indicates the number of remaining cones. For example:

FRUIT PRODUCTION

When Fruit Production is selected in one of the two sides or both, the machine runs
the production cycle described below.
HOT (HOT Sx Frutta or HOT Dx Frutta – HOT Left Fruit or HOT Right Fruit) to
reach is set in steps U18 and U19 of user programming, in particular they refer to
HOT values to reach in Cylinders 1 and 2 respectively.
Moreover, in technician programming, ON time (EVFC Frutta ON - EVFC Fruit T
ON) and OFF time (EVFC Frutta OFF - EVFC Fruit T OFF) are set to manage
opening and closing times of EVFC1 and/or EVFC2 (according to the side on which
fruit is set) during fruit (WaterIce) production.

After having reached HOT, if no cone is dispensed, the beater starts every 3 minutes
(T48 Timer Cic. Frutt - Cyclic Timer Fr.) for about 10 seconds, to check the ice
cream consistency: if it is less than HOT Sx Frutta – Isteresi Hot 1 (Hot Left
Fruit – HOT 1 Different.), or for side 2 HOT Dx Frutta – Isteresi Hot 2 (Hot
Right Fruit – HOT 2 Different.), the compressor starts together with the active
fruit side of the solenoid valve (EVFC) to bring the ice cream back to the
programmed consistency.

YOGURT PRODUCTION

When Yogurt Production is selected in one of the two sides or both, HOT (HOT Sx
Yogurt / HOT Dx Yogurt) to reach is set in steps U20 and U21 of user
programming, in particular they refer to HOT values to reach in Cylinders 1 and 2
respectively.

When HOT has been reached, if no cone is dispensed, the beater starts every 10
minutes (T11 Timer Ciclico - Cyclic Timer) for about 10 seconds, (as in SoftIce
production) to check product consistency: if this is lower than HOT Sx Yogurt –
Isteresi Hot 1 (Hot Left Yogurt - Hot 1 Different.), or Dx- Right for side 2, the
compressor will start together with the active yogurt side solenoid valve (EVFC) to
bring the product back to the programmed consistency.
DO NOT SERVE

When production is selected, the display shows Non servire ! - Do not Serve
!It means that the ice cream is reaching the perfect consistency. Do not serve until
the message disappears.
For example in the left side:

Do not serve ! Non Servire !

+004°C +004°C +004°C +004°C

If only one of the two sides reaches the set, the following is displayed: Wait and
Ready.
Once the Hot is reached (the first time you access Production, while the following
times Hob is valid) machine will have the standard operation.
This message will be displayed:

Ready ! Ice cream

+004°C +004°C Ready!
+004°C +004°C

In particular:
If the consistency drops below the value set under step Blocco Hot (1 o 2) -Hot
Block (1 or 2) the message Non Servire ! – Do not serve !appears on the
display. This means that the ice cream is not ready for dispensing.
The display shows Gelato Pronto ! - Ready !ONLY after having reached the Hot
Block on BOTH sides.
If a cone is dispensed while the message Non servire !- Do not serve !is
displayed (MIR busy), all the outputs are disabled (MA, MC, EVFC, MP OFF), an
intermittent beep is emitted and the display flashes.
If the hopper must be stored, MC + EVFV remain activated.
As soon as the photocell is free, Production restarts, with MA and MC + EVFC being
reactivated as well.
When the consistency drops below Hot Block - 5 hysteresis points, the message
Non Servire ! is displayed- Do not serve !appears on the display.
NO MIX

If the mix in the hopper falls below minimum level, the first line on the display
shows the relevant fixed message. The messages displayedare the following:
Aggiungere Mix Sx - Add Mix Left if the mix in the LH hopper is below medium
level;
Aggiungere Mix Dx - Add Mix Right if the mix in the RH hopper is below medium
level;
Mix Esaurita Sx - Mix Out Left if the mix in the LH hopper is below minimum
level;
Mix Esaurita Dx - Mix Out Right if the mix in the RH hopper is below minimum
level;
Agg.Mix No Mix - Add Mix Mix Out if the mix is below medium level in the LH
hopper and minimum level in the RH hopper;

hopper and medium level in the RH hopper;
Aggiungere Mix – Add Mix if the mix is below medium level in both hoppers;
Mix Esaurita - Mix Out if the mix is below minimum level in both hoppers.

In all these cases the hopper low level led on the keyboard lights up and the
buzzer beeps continuously.
The second line indicates the number of cones that can be dispensed (Ultimi Coni
- Last Cones)before the machine goes automatically into Storage mode.
The number of cones that can be still dispensed is set in programming.

ICE IN THE CYLINDER

In Production, if the temperature TE in one of the two cylinders reaches a value

lower than / equal to step Ghiaccio Cilind. - Ice Cylinder, this generates the
Ghiaccio Cilind. alarm - Ice Cylinder which is ONLY saved in the events log.
This alarm is not displayed.
All outlets connected to the cylinder are disabled and, if necessary, the hopper is
cooled.
When the Production timeout elapses, the consistency will be retested to see if
cylinder TE has become greater than Ghiaccio Cilind. - Ice Cylinder.

TIMEOUT PRD

If during Production the consistency does not reach the required setting within the
amount of time set at Timeout Prd, the cycle is forced to end as if HOT was
reached and an alarm is stored in the event log (no message on the display).
If Hot Block is not reached within 15’ from the start of freezing then the machine
goes to Stop and shows the Timeout Prd. alarm on the display
Prd timeout recharges every time a cone is dispensed (enabling any MIR)

HOPPER BEATING (where applicable)

In Production, with mix above medium levels, MMV activates whenever hopper
cooling is enabled.
MMV stays active also under hopper defrost conditions, both if defrost is performed
through hot gas (if EVRV is present) and if waiting for TGV reset by disabling hopper
(unless in the meanwhile TEV has reached the Set by inertia).
Once hopper cooling (or defrost or cooling Set reached by inertia) procedure is
completed, MMV is turned off with a delay equal to T27 - Delay Hop.Mixer.
In addition, regardless of mix level inside hopper, it will be periodically activated
even if hopper cooling is not enabled but step U22 – Hopper Extra Beat. is set to
YES, according to the ON/OFF times set in steps T44 – Cyclic MMV ON s and T45
– Cyclic MMV off m, respectively.
DEFROST

Defrost for machines without EVRC (243 Evo, Super 3 not SP, Aes 403 not SP):

When TGV reaches a value lower than/equal to –15° (step T25 Antighiac.Vasca –
Hopper Defrost) hopper cooling is suspended until TGV increases by the value
programmed in step T26 Ist.Antig.Vasca – Hop. Hys Defrost. In the meanwhile, if
necessary, the machine starts cooling cylinders, otherwise compressor is switched
off as well.

Defrost for machines with EVRC with Step T52 “Stat.Defr.TEV” = 0

When TGV reaches a value lower than/equal to –15° (step T25 Antighiac. Vasca –
Hopper Defrost) defrost is performed with hot gas: EVRV is activated (and EVFV
stays ON) and the display shows the arrow up. When TGV increases by the value
programmed in step T26 Ist.Antig.Vasca – Hop. Hys Defrost, EVRV is disabled.

Defrost for machines with EVRC with Step T52 “Stat.Defr.TEV” greater than 0

If step T52 is set, the two following checks are enabled:

1. Check for defrost alternation:

When at least one of the two TEVs is lower than or equal to 15° (step T52
TEV Stat.Defrost) and TGV drops below -15° (step T25 Hopper Defrost),
the value of the lower TEV (i.e. TEV2) is saved and the machine performs the
standard defrost with hot gas (see description above).
The following defrost (the 2nd one) will be also performed with hot gas.
If before performing the 3rd defrost, TEV (TEV2 in the example) has not
decreased by at least 1 degree compared to the value stored at the beginning,
the machine will perform the two following defrosts without hot gas: same
checks on TGV, but with hopper cooling and heating OFF (hence the MC is
turned off as well, unless cylinder cooling is requested).
After these two defrosts (3rd and 4th) the cycle restarts from the beginning:
the machine will store again the lower TEV and will perform the two following
operations with the hot gas, then repeat the check between stored TEV and
current TEV, and so on.
If the check always fails, the defrosts will follow one another always with the
same sequence: 2 with hot gas, 2 with MC OFF, 2 with hot gas, 2 with MC
OFF, etc.
If, on the contrary, TEVs decrease regularly, all the defrosts will be performed
with hot gas.
2. TIN check:
If at the end of a hopper defrost with hot gas one of the two Tins is lower than
a Limit-Tin, hopper heating is turned off and the heating on the cylinder where
Tin is below the limit (or on both cylinders if both Tins are negative) will be
turned on for 0.5 seconds.
The Limit-Tin is fixed and equal to:
 0° for Super 3 Evo
 -10° for 3B Evo and Aes 403

Note:
In case of low level, the defrost is always performed without hot gas and with the
static defrost sets (refer to steps T64 and T65).

WINTER SPIGOT DOOR MANAGEMENT

If the winter spigot door is installed (the machine has the two side MIR free and the
central one engaged) it is automatically recognized and the central MIR is disabled.
The door is recognized also after a blackout.
If after this condition the triple spigot door is installed again, the machine
automatically recognizes it (checking if the central MIR is disengaged) and
reactivates the central MIR.
DRY FILLING (DF)
(for Dry Filling versions, only)

Dry Filling (DF) can be carried out only in Production mode. The procedure can be
started only if mixture is below at least one medium level.

Once started, Dry Filling procedure can be interrupted at any time (see paragraph
Dry Filling Pause)

Hereinafter is a description of the procedure, differentiated based on the machine

status when started:

1) Topping up (machine already in production mode or access to production

with mix above both low levels)
Dry Filling phases:

1. As soon as DF button is pressed, if on LH side mix is at least below the

medium level, machine will shift to the next step (Step 2), otherwise it will
shift to RH side (Step 5)

2. The first line of the display shows:

The LH arrow flashes.

The quantity of water set on previous DF is indicated. If mix is also below the
minimum level, the displayed quantity of water is doubled.

The Increase and Decrease buttons turn on to indicate that the

quantity of water can be modified.
If no button is pressed for 10", selection phase will be quit and the display will
go back to the previous screen.
Note: If you press DF for 2”, you can bypass the LH side filling and shift
to RH side (Step 5), if on RH side mix is at least below the medium level. You
cannot bypass LH side filling if the access to Production mode (from Stop) was
carried out with the mix below the low level on the LH side.
3. Confirmation of the quantity of water on the LH side with the Production

4. Water delivery to LH side:

after pressing the DF button all outlets will be disabled and after 2" the EVW
for water delivery will be enabled. During this phase all checks are interrupted
except for the liters counter and the detection of the possible pressure of the
Stop key.
During water delivery, LH arrow continues flashing.
Once set is reached, if on RH side mix is at least below the medium level,
machine will shift to next step (Step 5), otherwise the RH side filling will be
by-passed and it will shift to the first mixing phase (Step 8).

5. If the mix on the LH side is at least below the medium level, the display will
show the quantity of water (that can be modified) on the second line, and the
RH arrow will flash.
If you reach this phase after having filled the LH side, the display will show the
quantity of just delivered water on the first line, on the left. The LH arrow is
steady on:

< Liters 01.00 < Litri 01.00

Liters 01.00 Litri 01.00
> >

If, on the contrary, LH side has not been filled yet (mix above the level
sensors or bypassed filling), the display will show on the second line:

Liters 01.00 Litri 01.00

> >

The last quantity of water set is indicated. If mix is also below the minimum
level, the displayed quantity of water is doubled.

The Increase and Decrease buttons turn on to indicate that the

indicated quantity of water can be modified.
If LH side has been previously filled, the machine will stay in this phase until
further action by the user (confirmation, bypass or Stop button pressed).
Otherwise, in case of first filling, the machine will quit the selection phase and
the display will go back to the previous screen unless a button is pressed
within 10".

Note: If LH side has been previously filled, and if you press DF for 2”, you
can bypass the RH side filling and shift directly to the first mixing phase (Step
8). You cannot bypass RH side filling if the access to Production mode (from
Stop) was carried out with the mix under the low level on the RH side.

except for the liters counter and the detection of the possible pressure of the
Stop key.
During water delivery, RH arrow continues flashing.
Once set is reached, machine will shift to next step

8. First mixing phase (duration equal to T73):

Fast beating in hopper is activated (only on the side/s filled with water) for the
time programmed in step T73 "DF Block Time".
The display will show the T73 timer decreasing on the second line

If step T21 "DF Out Off" is set to NO (and if production mode was accessed
before DF start with mix above both minimum levels), Production will be
restored during this phase

9. Second mixing phase (duration equal to T74-T73):

At the end of T73, if not done before (T21 “DF Out Off” = YES), Production will
be enabled again.
Fast beating in the hopper will stay active for further T74-T73 minutes (until
the T74 total timer times out)
The display will go back to standard Production display

10. At the end of T74 the fast beating in the hopper is stopped and the DF is
considered as completed.
Production continues normally

2) Production Booking (access to Production with mix below at least one

minimum level)
The display shows:

Dry Filling Eseguire Dry

needed Filling

An intermittent acoustic signal is activated (if U10=yes).

The Dry Filling phases are the same described before, but with the following
differences:

 Production is never enabled and at the end of the DF procedure the machine
will automatically Stop

 During the second mixing phase (Step 9) Production will not be enabled and
the display will show

Dry Filling Dry Filling

Mixing 7:59 Mixing 7:59

 When the T74 total timer times out, beating will be disabled and the machine
will Stop.
DRY FILLING PAUSE

Starting from Dry Filling Step 4 (or Step 7 if LH side is not filled), you can lock all
outputs by pressing STOP and accessing a Pause phase.
In this case, the buzzer is activated and the display reads:

STOP (STOP) STOP (STOP)

CONTINUE?(START) CONTINUA?(START)

If you press STOP the machine will enter Stop mode and will abort the procedure in
progress (contrary to the currently-manufactured machines, hopper mixer will be
stopped as well). Upon next DF, liters and timer will resume from settings.
By pressing START the machine will resume exactly from where it stopped (liters
counting and timer will start again from where they stopped).
In particular:

 By pressing Stop during Step 8, the machine is set to Pause. If the Stop is
confirmed all outlets are disabled, but the fast beating timer in the hopper is
stored and interrupted. Fast beating will start again when the machine will
switch to any operating mode (Production, Cleaning, Storage or
Pasteurization) until timer times out (T74).

 By pressing Stop during Step 9, if DF was enabled after Production mode

activation with mix below level sensors (Production booking), the machine will
work in the same way as during Step 8.
If,on the contrary, DF was enabled after Production mode activation with mix
above level sensors (Topping up), and Production was already started, if you
press Stop, the machine will Stop. The fast beating timer in the hopper is
nevertheless stored and interrupted until the machine switches to an
operating mode, as described in Step 8.
PASTEURIZATION
(where applicable)

This process cannot be started if the mix in the hopper is below medium
levels (they must both be covered).
Step T19 - "Pasteurizing" must be set to Yes.
Pasteurization is automatically executed every day at the time programmed
in step U09 Ora Avv. Pas-Con - Start Past-Stor).
Normally the machine is in Production, when the hour for Pasteurization arrives the
machine switches automatically from Production to Pasteurization to perform the
procedure.

If, however, step Ora Avv. Pas-Con - Start Past-Stor is set to “no” automatic
Pasteurization is disabled and can only be performed manually.

To start Manual Pasteurization, press and hold Pasteurization for 5".

Warning: after Pasteurization has been running for 5 seconds the procedure must
run completely.
If Pasteurization is not completed successfully, the machine will NOT be able to enter
Production mode until a Pasteurization cycle has been completed.

To force Pasteurization even if the mix level is less than half full, press Storage
and hold it for 30 seconds.
This forces the machine to “skip” the hopper mix level check.
Then press the Pasteurization key for 5 seconds.
The mix, both in the hopper and in the cylinders, is heated to 65°C (can be
programmed) kept at this temperature for 30 minutes (fixed), and then cooled up to
the storage temperature.
When the procedure is finished the display shows “-Fine Pastoriz.- Pasto End”
along with the day and hour of completion, confirming that pasteurization has been
carried out successfully.

Beater cyclically turns (clockwise in order not to activate the pump) inside cylinder
during Heating, pause, Cooling (from +65°C to +20°C in the cylinder) and from the
moment cylinder reaches storage temperature. Beating is continuous during cooling,
from +20°C to cylinder storage temperature.
Normally the cylinder beater turns for 15 seconds and then stops for 30 seconds.

Even if the hopper reaches Storage temperature before the cylinder and TEC >
20°C, the cylinder beater is forced to turn continuously.

It is not possible to switch to ice cream Production until the end of Pasteurization
cycle (until the display shows “-Fine Pastoriz.-”).

HEATING

Heating is performed with “positive hysteresis” meaning that if a temperature of 65°

C is set then heating will be stopped at 67° C and then restarted at 65° C.

To skip heating followed by a pause of 30 minutes, press Storage for about

three seconds (after Pasteurization has been running for at least 5 seconds).
This will cause the machine to move directly to the Cooling phase without pausing
for 30 minutes.

During Pasteurization, the display will read:

DELTA TGV-TEV
(Heat Exchange Alarm)

The Heat Exchange Alarm will be triggered in the following cases:

- The TEV and TGV probes are not under alarm
- the machine is either in the Heating phase or in the Pasteurization Pause phase

In Pasteurization Heating mode, if the TGV temperature becomes > than the TEV
value programmed in step Delta TGV-TEV, Al.Scambio Term. –
Al.Heat.Exchangewill be displayed and the machine will stay in Pasteurization
mode, but hopper heating will be inhibited.
If necessary, cylinders are heated.
Alarm is reset and hopper heating is activated again as soon as the difference
between TGV and TEV decreases by 5° (fixed) compared to the limit value.

Check the driving belt or verify that the rotor is properly positioned.

TGV CHECK

During Pasteurization Heating, if the TGV temperature reaches 90°C (programmable

at step T69 - TGV Limit) then EVRC and MC stop. Re-enabling occurs with hysteresis
of 5 °C (fixed).

DELTA TEV1-TEV2 CHECK

During Pasteurization heating, if at least one of TEV1 or TEV2 is greater than 55°C
and the difference between TEV1 and TEV2 is greater than 6°C, the heating is
partialized, activating MC+EVRV for 2 minutes ON and 2 minutes OFF.
PAUSE

To skip the 30 minute pause after reaching 65°C + hysteresis temperature, press

Storage for 2 seconds, so that you can switch to Cooling cycle without the 30
minutes pause.

ACTIVE OUTLETS

MMV runs throughout the full cycle.

If the Pasteurization temperature is reached in cylinders and hopper, MMV always
runs, until the pause is completed.
If cylinders must be heated during Pasteurization pause, MA is activated (always ON)
along with MC and EVRC (1 or 2).

If only the hopper requires heating during the Pasteurization pause, MC and EVRV
will be activated.

If cylinders and hopper need to be heated at the same time during the Pasteurization
pause, the heating will be performed cyclically: 15 seconds MA, MC, and EVRC
followed by 30 seconds MC and EVRV (the ON-OFF durations of the preceding table
are still valid with reference to TEC and TEV).

In the above-mentioned cases, MA always operates clockwise (MP not activated). It

is anyway activated counterclockwise for 10” every 10’ in order to activate MP as
well.

Note:
At the end of the pause, before starting cooling, MV is activated on its own for one
minute (fixed).

ACTIVE OUTLETS

MMV runs throughout the full cycle until TEV1 and TEV2 reach Storage temperature.
During Cylinder Cooling, MA, MC, EVFC, and MV run for 15 seconds (see table). After
reaching +20°C, and until TECs reach the storage Set, MA is continuously activated,
hence the beater continues running even during hopper cooling.
During Hopper Cooling the following are activated: MC, EVFV, MV for 30 seconds
(see following table).

When Hopper and Cylinders reach the Storage Set, if TGV is lower than 0°C, EVRV is
activated until TGV reaches 5°C or for 15"maximum.
Soon afterwards a 10" shot of hot gas is given to both cylinders (if TGV was already
positive and EVRV was thus off, the shot of hot gas given to the cylinders lasts 20
seconds).

Once finished, the machine switches to Storage mode and displays - Fine

Once the Storage temperature has been reached, if the hopper requires cooling MMV
is activated for the duration of the cooling (in parallel with EVFV).
During the Cylinder Cooling (side 1 and 2) the following are activated: MA, MC,
EVFC, MV.
During the Hopper Cooling the following are activated: MC, EVFV, MV.
DEFROST
Defrost with Step T52 “Stat.Defr.TEV” = 0
When the TGV temperature reaches a value lower than/equal to -15° (step T25
Antighiac.Vasca – Hopper Defrost) defrost is performed with hot gas: EVRV is
activated (and EVFV stays ON) and the display shows the arrow up. When TGV
increases by the value programmed in step T26 Ist.Antig.Vasca – Hop. Hys
Defrost, EVRV is disabled.

Defrost with Step T52 “Stat.Defr.TEV” greater than 0

When at least one of the two TEVs is lower than or equal to 15° (step T52 TEV
Stat.Defrost) and TGV drops below -15° (step T25 Hopper Defrost), the value of
the lower TEV (i.e. TEV2) is saved and the machine performs the standard defrost
with hot gas (see description above).
The following defrost (the 2nd one) will be also performed with hot gas.
If before performing the 3rd defrost, TEV (TEV2 in the example) has not decreased
by at least 1 degree compared to the value stored at the beginning, the machine will
perform the two following defrosts without hot gas: same checks on TGV, but with
hopper cooling and heating OFF (hence the MC is turned off as well, unless cylinder
cooling is requested).
After these two defrosts (3rd and 4th) the cycle restarts from the beginning: the
machine will store again the lower TEV and will perform the two following operations
with the hot gas, then repeat the check between stored TEV and current TEV, and so
on.
If the check always fails, the defrosts will follow one another always with the same
sequence: 2 with hot gas, 2 with MC OFF, 2 with hot gas, 2 with MC OFF, etc.
If, on the contrary, TEVs decrease regularly, all the defrosts will be performed with
hot gas.

HOT GAS INSIDE CYLINDERS

After having reached the Storage Set on a cylinder, and before hoppers reach the
Set, if the TEC of that cylinder increases by 2° above the Set, the relevant EVRC is
turned ON for 10" before EVFC is restarted.
During this shot of hot gas, the beater stays in the same status: off if it was off;
while if the other cylinder had not yet reached the set (but TEC<20°) beater was
already on and continues running.
Once the shot of hot gas is over, beater will be restarted and the EVFC will be
activated for 15", like in the standard cycle.
STORAGE

By selecting this function the product in both cylinders and hopper is cooled at the
temperature of 4°C set in step Temp.Conservaz. – Storage Temp.).
As far as the hopper is concerned, Storage is controlled by TEV1 and TEV2 while
TEC1 and TEC2 control the cylinders.
Every time the machine is set to Storage mode, the temperature values of TEC
probes (cylinder temperature) and of TEV probes are read.
If cooling is required in cylinders and hopper at the same time, priority is given to
the hopper.
In this case Storage is handled cyclically.
To maintain the Storage temperature in the hopper EVFV+MC run for 30 seconds
(MA OFF).
For the cylinder, MA + MC + EVFC (side 1 and 2) are enabled for 15”.
Once Storage mode is activated the display shows:

ACTIVE OUTLETS

MMV runs throughout the full cycle until TEV1 and TEV2 reach Storage temperature.
During Cylinder Cooling, the following are activated: MA, MC, EVFC, MV for 15
seconds.
During the Hopper Cooling the following are activated: MC, EVFV, MV for 30”.
For machines with pumps driven parallel to the beater (T62=2), MA is also activated
when entering the function to activate MP.

HOPPER BEATING (where applicable)

In Storage, with mix above medium level, MMV activates whenever hopper cooling is
enabled.
In addition, regardless of mix level inside hopper, it will be periodically activated
even if hopper cooling is not enabled but step U22 – HopperExtra Beat. is set to
YES, according to the on/off times set in steps T44 –Cyclic MMV ON s and T45 –
Cyclic MMV off m, respectively.

Defrost for machines with EVRC with Step T52 “Stat.Defr.TEV” greater than 0
With step T52 set, the Check for defrost alternation is enabled:
If, on the contrary, TEVs decrease regularly, all the defrosts will be performed with
hot gas.

Note: In case of low level, the defrost is always performed without hot gas and with
the static defrost sets (refer to steps T64 and T65).

Ghiaccio Cil1-2 x10 Cylinder defrost read by TE1 - TE2 probes.

Ice Cylinder1-2 x10 In Production, if one of the two TE falls below the value set
(ICE) in step Ice Cyl., the machine sets to HOT reached position
and stores the IceCylinder1 x10 or IceCylinder2 x10
alarm among the events (storage is carried out every 10
alarms logged).
This alarm may be due to insufficient mix feeding into the
cylinder.
Check pump efficiency.
When the cylinder temperature rises the alarm resets.

If, instead, the alarm is displayed in Stop mode, it is

necessary to check/replace the relevant TE probe, because
the readable temperature end of scale is read by the CPU.

Invertire Fase It is necessary to invert the 2 phases on the three-phase

Invert Phases! cable so that the beater turns in the correct direction. The
alarm is reset by pressing the Reset key (after having
inverted the 2 phases).
This condition is tested only for the first minute after the
machine is turned on.

L - gg In Production, “L - gg” is displayed, meaning that there

W - gg are still "gg" days remaining until machine cleaning.
A forced washing may be required if the machine is left in
Stop mode for 24 hours with mix above the minimum level.
See WEEKLY CLEANING.

mode.
The event is logged in any function and stored in the
events.

Mix Esaurita Sx–Dx The display indicates Mix Out when the mix is below the
Mix Out Left - Right low level sensor. The mix LED turns steady on.
When the mix is below the low level and upon Production a
number of cones same as/or higher than the value set in
step Last Cones are dispensed, not only will Mix Out be
displayed, but the machine will also set to Storage.

Non Servire ! In Production mode, when consistency is lower than the

Do Not Serve ! value set in Hot Block step, “Do not serve” is displayed.
If, in such a case, you try to dispense cones, all units stop
Non Servire Sx ! (MA, MC, EVFC and MP) and an intermittent beep will be
Do Not Serve LH! emitted until the photocell is no longer busy. As soon as it is
released, both MA and MC reactivate in order to bring ice
Non Servire Dx ! cream to its proper consistency.
Do Not Serve RH! LH = left hand side
RH = right hand side

Pastorizzare ! When the machine is set to Stop with mix low level covered
Pasto needed ! for more than 60’, TEV temperature is checked. If it is
equal to or higher than 15°C a Pasteurization cycle is
required. In this situation, when Production is pressed the
machine will automatically start Pasteurization unless the
spigot has been opened and closed.
In this case, the test TEV ≥ 15° C is inhibited for 60
minutes and Production is accepted.
In all cases, if TEV<15° C then all functions are allowed,
without time limits.

Perche’in STOP?? If the machine is left in the Stop mode with mix above the
Why in STOP ?? minimum level, after 30 seconds the flashing message
“Why in STOP?” will be displayed and an intermittent beep
will be emitted.
This alerts the user to select either Production or Storage.
The above mentioned message will be deleted by entering
in Production, having low mix level, or pressing Storage
key.
To have the message back on the display, enter again in
Production or Storage.

relevant side is not active.
POWER ON

In case of a power loss, if the machine was in Cleaning mode, when power returns
the machine shifts to Stop.

If the machine was in Pasteurization heating phase or pause, when power returns
the machine will continue with the function it was performing when power went off
(with Mancata Tensione - Power On on the display).

If the machine was in Pasteurization Cooling phase, when the power returns the
machine will check the TEV temperature and the duration of the blackout. If the
length of time is greater than the duration indicated in the table, the machine will
completely repeat the Pasteurization cycle, memorizing the alarm “Mancata
Tensione” or “Power On” in the ”event list”.
Otherwise, if the time is less than that indicated in the table below, the machine will
return to the function that was in progress at the time of blackout.

TEV Temperature Time

68°C  50°C 30 minutes

49°C  15°C 10 minutes
14°C  10°C 20 minutes
9°C  4°C 2 hours

If the machine was in Production or Storage mode, when power comes back on, the
machine checks the TEV temperature (considering the higher between TEV1 and
TEV2) and if it is below a level set by the manufacturer then the machine sets to the
same function as before, showing the “Power On” alarm on the display. If TEV is
greater than this value and the time exceeds the values in the table above, the
Pasteurization cycle will be repeated.

PROGRAMMING STEPS DESCRIPTION

Step DESCRIPTION
T03 Hot 1Different. (side 1)
A lower value makes HOT more sensitive during extraction.
With the machine in Production mode and MIR 1 or 3 activated, after the
compressor stops because HOT is reached, the compressor restarts when
the consistency level on the monitor is lower than HOT minus the value set
in this step.

T04 Hot 2Different. (side 2)

A lower value makes HOT more sensitive during extraction.
With the machine in Production mode and MIR 2 or 3 activated, after the
compressor stops because HOT is reached, the compressor restarts when
the consistency level on the monitor is lower than HOT minus the value set
in this step.

T05 Hot Gas 1

Activation duration of the gas solenoid valve (EVRC1).
Every time EVFC1 stops, EVRC1 is activated for the amount of time
programmed in this step.
Programmable in tenths of a second.

T06 Hot Gas 2

Activation duration of the gas solenoid valve (EVRC2).
Every time EVFC2 stops, EVRC2 is activated for the amount of time
programmed in this step.
Programmable in tenths of a second.

T07 Delay Beater 1

This is the time during which the beater of side 1 continues to run after the
compressor stops due to set consistency being reached.

T08 Delay Beater 2

This is the time during which the beater of side 2 continues to run after the
compressor stops due to set consistency being reached.
T09 Hot Block 1
This is the HOT value below which, if the operator attempts to dispense a
cone, all the outlets deactivate (MA, MC, EVFC1 and MP1 OFF).
As soon as MIR reopens, Production restarts, reactivating MA, MC and
EVFC1 ON. On the keyboard "Do not serve !" is displayed.
If the consistency rises above the Hot Block value, “Ready !” is displayed.
If the consistency returns below Hot Block - 5 hysteresis points, the
machine is blocked again, with the message “Do not serve!".

T10 Hot Block 2

This is the HOT value below which, if the operator attempts to dispense a
cone, everything stops (MA, MC, EVFC2 and MP2 OFF).
As soon as MIR reopens, Production restarts, reactivating MA, MC and
EVFC2 ON. On the keyboard "Do not serve !" is displayed.
If the consistency rises above the Hot Block value, “Ready !” is displayed.
If the consistency returns below Hot Block - 5 hysteresis points, the
machine is blocked again, with the message “Do not serve!".

T11 Cyclic Timer

Production cyclic timer.
Every 10 minutes (time can be programmed at this step) the beater runs to
check ice cream consistency.

T12 Trimmer Hot

The value can be calibrated both manually and via the HOT calibration
procedure.
If the value is increased, the ice cream consistency will be reduced at the
end of the Production cycle.

Warning: to change this number it is necessary to check the load on the

beater motor, making sure that it does not exceed 110% of the motor’s
rated load value.

Note: the value shown in the programming table is purely indicative. This
parameter is set differently for each machine and is normally shown on an
adhesive label affixed to the electrical box.
T13 Delta Trim. HOT
With the machine in reserve (mix below minimum level), if the cones finish
on one side, the trimmer (T12) is increased by the number of points set in
step T13. When the mix is above the minimum level again, the trimmer
sets back to the value set in T12.
If T12+T13 total value is out of scale, the trimmer is set to the maximum
allowed value (255).

If, on the contrary, step is set to No, as soon as cones are over on one of
the two sides the machine inhibits production and maintains both cylinders
by checking TEC.
With both levels low, when one side finishes the cones, the display shows
"No more Cones Right" or "No more Cones Left" instead of indicating the
number of cones left on the other side.

T14 Single Phase Del

The Single Phase Del programming is necessary to display a Hot value
equal to "000" when product is completely liquid in SINGLE-PHASE
machines.
The machines supplied by Carpigiani have the Single Phase Delay already
calibrated. However, when the electronic board has to be replaced, the
Single Phase Delay has to be reprogrammed to the relevant value.
On three-phase machines, value shall be 000.

T15 Ice Cylinder

When the temperature read by TE in one of the two sides reaches a level
equal to or less than the programmed value, the machine will shift into
“HOT reached,” stopping the cooling of the cylinder.
Checked only during Production.
Every 10 Ice Cylinder alarms, the alarm is logged in the events.

T16 Timeout Prd

During Production a timer runs, the length of which is programmed in this
step. If HOT is not reached during this time, the machine assumes that
HOT has been reached.
The corresponding “Timeout Prd”alarm is stored in the event log.
T17 Last Cones
This is the number of cones the machine can dispense in Production mode
after that low level LED switches on.
Then the machine automatically sets to Storage mode.

T18 Reverse MMV Temp

For Dry Filling versions, only

In all functions, MMV direction of rotation is reversed (fast beating) on the

side where TEV becomes ≤ T18, until probe increases by 2°C.

T19 Pasteur. Version

No = non SP models
Yes = SP models

T21 DF Outlets OFF

For Dry Filling versions, only

If this step is set to NO, during DF, production will resume at the end of
water delivery phase. If set to YES, production will resume at the end of the
first fast beating phase in hopper (T73 “DF Block Time”).
Note: If Production started with mix below low level and then DF was
activated, production will nevertheless continue to be disabled and when
beating time elapses (T74 “DF MMVI Time”), machine will stop.
T23 Storage Temp.
Storage temperature for the cylinder and hopper.
It is checked during Storage and Production.

T24 ExtraDelay MA-MC

(set 2" in single-phase machines)
Extra delay (in seconds) that is summed to the 2 fixed seconds between
the MA activation and the actual calculation of the HOT in Production.
Moreover, it assures that the activation of MA compared with that of MC
occurs with a delay equal to the time set for this step.
T25 Hopper Defrost
When TGV temperature reaches a value equal to or lower than the one set
in this step, the hot gas solenoid valve (EVRV) starts to defrost the hopper
(EVFV remains ON).

T26 Hop. Hys Defrost

Hopper defrost hysteresis.
In hopper cooling, when TGV temperature is equal to or lower than the one
set in Hopper Defrost, the hot gas solenoid valve starts to defrost the
hopper until TGV temperature increases according to the value set in this
step.
See Hopper Defrost step.

T27 Delay Hop. Mixer

The duration in minutes for which the hopper mixer motor will continue to
run after cooling the hopper.
This step is used to reach a better thermal exchange and prevent ice
formation on hopper edges.

T28 Pasto Hopper

Hopper Pasteurization temperature (only for SP)

T29 Pasto Cylinder

Cylinder Pasteurization temperature (only for SP)

T30 Delta TGV-TEV

In Pasteurization Heating mode, if TGV exceeds TEV (in case of machines
with two TEVs, the lowest is considered) by the value programmed in this
step, the alarm Al.Scambio Term. – Al.Heat.Exchange will be displayed.
The machine stays in Pasteurization mode, but hopper heating is inhibited. If
necessary, cylinders are heated.
Alarm is reset and hopper heating is activated again as soon as the difference
between TGV and TEV decreases by 5° (fixed) compared to the limit value.
Check the driving belt or verify that the rotor is properly positioned.
T31 HOT MC
Step for compressor motor HOT absorption control. This step may be set to
"No" or to a numeric value (from 1 to 127) which corresponds to the
Compressor HOT threshold.
If T02 = "No" the control is disabled.
In the opposite case, every time HOT exceeds the value set in this step, MC
is disabled for 5" fixed. Every time it is disabled, the event is stored, and
after 5" MC restarts. After the 5th attempt, during the disable time EVRC1
(and EVRC2) is enabled to balance pressures. After a number of attempts
corresponding to the number set in step T32 - "N. HOT MC", the machine
sets to Stop and it displays "Allarme HOT MC".
The number of attempts is reset at every function change and, within the
same function, every time MC starts and switches off normally without the
intervention of this control.
T32 N. HOT MC
If the HOT MC absorption control is disabled (T31 different from "No"), this
step indicates the maximum activation attempts of MC, after which the
machine sets to Stop displaying "Alarm HOT MC". See step T31.

T33 Offset TEV

TEV1 hopper temperature calibration.
With this step it is possible to calibrate the real hopper mix temperature.
This must be done with the machine in Storage with a current temperature
of 4° C.
With this electronic control unit the machine must not be brought
to room temperature to calibrate the probes.
Check the hopper temperature using a precision thermometer. If the
current value is not 4°C (as indicated on the display), press the Up or
Down keys until the temperature matches the thermometer reading.

PLEASE NOTE:
 The Offset calibration is not allowed if the temperature detected by the
probe is higher than 20°C. In this case the step is disabled and the
temperature to be modified is not displayed.
 Before installing a new probe it is important to cover it with conducting
paste before threading it into its housing.
T34 Offset TEC1
TEC1 cylinder temperature calibration. See Offset TEV.

T35 Offset TGV

TGV hopper evaporator temperature calibration (used to defrost the
hopper).
This temperature must be calibrated using a precision thermometer in the
casing found in the hopper evaporator.
Set the machine to Storage mode and calibrate probe to temperatures close
to the one set in step T25 – Hopper Defrost. For example, if the defrost set is
-18°C, when the TGV is -15°C, set the machine to Stop and calibrate TGV
offset.

PLEASE NOTE: The Offset calibration is not allowed if the temperature

detected by the probe is higher than 10°C. In this case the step is disabled
and the temperature to be modified is not displayed.

T36 Offset TEC2

TEC2 cylinder temperature calibration. See Offset TEV.

T37 Offset TEV2

TEV2 hopper temperature calibration. See Offset TEV.

T39 Wash Days

It indicates the days left before the machine must be washed.
If the machine is not washed at this time then it will not function
(Production not accepted).
If set to 0, wash days are disabled

T40 Fahrenheit
Temperature display in °C (No) or in °F (Yes).
Based on this parameter the display will show the symbol °C or °F.

T41 Extra Hop.Agit.

See U22
T42 Delay R AV MC
Delay (in tenths of a second) between MC activation and compressor start
contactor deactivation (if any).
The contactor turns on 0.3" before the compressor, and turns off with a
delay equal to the one set in this step.

T44 Cyclic MMV ONs S

In Production and Storage, if cyclic beating is activated at U22 set to Yes,
this represents MMV ON time in seconds.

T45 Cyclic MMV OFF m M

In Production and Storage, if cyclic beating is activated at U22 set to Yes,
this represents MMV OFF time in minutes.

T46 Offset TE1

TE1 cylinder evaporator temperature calibration.
This temperature must be calibrated using a precision thermometer in the
housing found in the cylinder evaporator.
Set the machine to Production mode and dispense a number of cones enough
to let probe reach negative temperature values.
Then calibrate probe to temperatures close to the one set in step T25 –
Hopper Defrost. For example, if the defrost set is -18°C, when the TE1 is -
15°C, set the machine to Stop and calibrate TE1 offset.

T47 Offset TE2

TE2 cylinder evaporator temperature calibration. See Offset TE1.

T48 Cyclic Timer Fr.

Fruit Production cyclic timer.
Every 3 minutes (programmed at this step) the beater runs to check ice
cream consistency.

T49 HOT 1 Fruit

HOT value in case of fruit production on side 1.
Increasing this number will also increase ice cream consistency and beater
motor absorption value.
T50 HOT 2 Fruit
HOT value in case of fruit production on side 2. See step T49.

T51 Shower
For AES 403 EVO only.
If set to "Yes", it enables shower management, which can be activated
from Stop and Cleaning modes by pressing the level key.

T52 Stat. Defr. TEV

Only for machines with EVRV (Tre B Evo, Super Tre Evo SP, Aes 403 Evo
SP)
If set to a value greater than 0, it activates two more checks on hopper
defrost management: the alternation between defrosts with and without
hot gas (performed only if TEV is lower than the temperature set in this
step) and the Tin check (performed in Production only, independent of
TEV).
If step is set to 0 or if the machine has no EVRV, it does not perform any of
the two checks.

T53 HOT 1 Yogurt

See U20

T54 HOT 2 Yogurt

See U21
T55 Diff TEV1-2 MMVI
For Dry Filling versions, only

In Pasteurization heating and pause modes, the direction of rotation of

MMV1 is reversed (counter-clockwise=fast beating) if TEV1 ≤ TEV2-T55
until the difference between the two TEVs decreases by 3°C.
On the contrary, MMV2 is reversed if TEV2 ≤ TEV1-T55.

In Pasteurization cooling mode, the direction of rotation of MMV1 is reversed

(counter-clockwise=fast) if TEV1 ≥ TEV2+T55 until the difference between
the two TEVs decreases by 3°C.
On the contrary, MMV2 is reversed if TEV2 ≥ TEV1+T55.

Note:
Regardless of reverse conditions (steps T18 and T55), in Production and
Storage modes, hopper beating is inhibited if mix is below medium level
(activated periodically, see T44 and T45). On the contrary, in Pasteurization
mode, as soon as mix goes below the medium level, beating is still allowed,
but fast beating is always inhibited.

T56 DisplayTEV1-TEV2
For Tre B EVO and Super Tre EVO versions, only

When step T56 is set to No, the hopper temperature display shows only
one value indicating that of the probe which manages cooling (max
between TEV1 and TEV2) and heating (max between TEV1 and TEV2). In
this case, also the days left to the next wash are displayed.
When it is set to Yes, the display shows the value of both probes. In this
case, the days left to the next wash are displayed for 5" upon each
dispensing.
T58 Threshold TE
In Production mode, when both EVFC are enabled, TE1 and TE2
temperature is compared. If both are lower than the value set in this step
for at least 10” and if the difference of the two TEs is higher than the value
set in Delta TE1-TE2 step, the EVFC of the cylinder with lower TE is
disabled. The disabled EVFC will be reactivated as soon as the difference of
the TEs becomes lower than the value set in step Delta TE1-TE2 - Hyst.
DeltaTE1-TE2 (T59 - T60).
Check is disabled if one of the TE1 or TE2 probes is in alarm.

T59 Delta TE1-TE2

See T58

T60 Hyst. DeltaTE1-TE2

See T58

T61 Del. EVFC on MIR

It is the delay in seconds of EVFC1 activation when detecting MIR2 or of
EVFC2 activation when detecting MIR1.
If the MIR is released and reactivated before the end of the delay set in this
step, the timer is reset.
For example, if a cone is dispensed on the LH side (MIR1), cooling on RH
side (EVFC2) is delayed for the time set in this step.
The same thing happens to LH side cooling if a cone is dispensed on the RH
side.
T62 Pump Mode
1= machine with independent pump
2= machine with pump fitted on beater, with pump release mechanism
3= gravity-fed machines
4= machine with pump fitted on beater, without pump release mechanism

In mode 2:
Pasteurization: MA turns clockwise in pasteurization to release the pump
(activation of TTA2).
TTA1 activation is performed only when Pump activation is required (when
the function is started and in pause, 10” every 10’)
Storage: activation of TTA1 every time beater activation is required (always
disabled during hopper cooling, even with TEC < 20°). TTA1 activated also
when Pump activation is required (when the function is started).
Production: activation of TTA1 every time beater activation is required.
Cleaning: only the following modes are allowed
- “Beat.+Pump ON” (30”)
- "Beat+Pump+Heat."
In heated cleaning, the beater is activated ON/OFF in order not to damage
the pump => 30” OFF and 15” ON.

With mode 3:
Cleaning: allows the following modes, only
- “Beating ON” (3 minutes)
- “Beat. + Heat.”
In both modes, beating is continuous
Pasteurization:
Beating is always carried out counter-clockwise, even in Pasteurization
mode (TTA1 is always activated)

With mode 4:
Beaters and Pumps are managed in parallel through TTA, which is activated
whenever beaters or pumps must be activated.
T63 Delta HOT1-HOT2
It is used to set the maximum difference between the 2 set Hot in order
not to unbalance the cylinders.
When 2 different products are set in the 2 cylinders, the 2 set Hot can be
different for a value higher than the value set in this step.
E.g.: LH = softIce ; RH = waterIce; T63 = 15.
Default values are: SoftIce Set Hot=100 and WaterIce Set Hot=70.
The lower set hot (in this case the WaterIce Set Hot) is kept fixed and the
SoftIce Set Hot is lowered to 85 (=70+15)

T64 Static Hop.Defr.

Active in Production and Storage modes when mix is below at least one
medium level inside hopper.
When TGV temperature reaches a value that is equal to or lower than the
temperature programmed at this step, compressor is disabled to defrost the
hopper.

T65 Hys.Stat.Defrost
Active when at least one medium level in the hopper is uncovered.
In hopper cooling, when TGV temperature is equal to or lower than the one
set in step T64, the compressor deactivates to defrost the hopper until TGV
temperature increases according to the value set in this step.
See step T64.

T66 Alarm RTA

Enable (Yes) or disable (No) the beater motor’s relay overload alarm:
“Overload Beater”.

T68 Alarm RTC

Enable (Yes) or disable (No) the compressor motor’s relay overload alarm:
“Overload Compres”.

T69 TGV Limit

During Pasteurization heating, if the TGV temperature reaches the value set
in this step, then EVRC and MC are disabled. Re-enabling occurs with
hysteresis of 5 °C (fixed).
T70 Alarm TESC1
Enables (Yes) or disable (No) the Cylinder Safety Thermostat alarm of side 1.

T71 Alarm TESC2

Enables (Yes) or disable (No) the Cylinder Safety Thermostat alarm of side 2.

T72 Alarm TESV1

Enable (Yes) or disable (No) Hopper Safety Thermostat alarm.

T73 DF Block Time

For Dry Filling versions, only

During Dry Filling procedure, it represents the duration (minutes) of the first
fast beating phase in the hopper (activation of Inverted MMV) after water
filling.
In this phase, the machine is usually blocked (if T21=Yes) and only fast
beating is active; Production will be enabled again only once this timer stops
(if Dry Filling was carried out as described in the topping up procedure, i.e.
with the machine already in production mode or if production was accessed
with mix below both low levels)
If, on the contrary, T21=No, Production will be enabled again starting from
this phase, immediately after water filling.

T74 DF MMVI Time

For Dry Filling versions, only

During Dry Filling procedure, it represents the total time (minutes) of fast
beating in the hopper (activation of Inverted MMV) after water filling.
This time begins to count down at the same time as that of the previous step
(see description of step T73).
If the water filling procedure for the Dry Filling was started with mix below at
least one low level, 5 minutes will be automatically added to the time
programmed in this step.
T75 Alarm PR1
Number of pressure switch interventions to display the high-pressure
Pressure Switch alarm: “Pressure Switch”.
By setting this value to 000 the control is disabled (alarm is not displayed).
Note: whenever function is changed, Pressure switch triggering counter is
reset.

T76 El. Board Supervisor

For manufacturer, only. Leave to NO.

T77 Al. TimeoutPrd

Enables (Yes) or disable (No) the “Timeout Prd” alarm.

T78 Post Hopper Stor

Enable (Yes) or disable (No) hopper post cooling.
If set to Yes,when during Production EVFV turns off because Storage
temperature has been reached, a Hot cycle is carried out in the cylinder.

T80 Enable HOB Dispens.

If set to No, it disables the outputs when dispensing with HoT lower than
Hot Block. If, on the contrary, the step is set to Yes, the machine continues
running normally allowing the dispensing also with low HoT.
The signal with flashing display and acoustic signal is always activated,
independent of this step. It is set by default to No for all models, except
403 JPN where it is set by default to Yes.

T83 Enable Test

Enable/Disable the Machine Test.
See relevant chapter.

T85 Set TEC Cleaning

When Thermal Cleaning function is selected, EVRC is activated with MA
until the value set for this step is reached.
When the function is selected, if the temperature is already reached, the
machine sets to Stop.
T86 Reset Hours
1 = total reset (MA, MP, cones, events)
2 = MA hour reset
3 = MP hour reset (for machines with independent pumps)
4 = Reset total cones
5 = Event reset
Once set, the counter is reset when exiting the programming table, and
then the value is reset to 000 (No reset) automatically.

T87 Ohm Level On

Step for level sensor setting.
WE RECOMMEND NOT TO EDIT THE SET VALUE.

T88 Ohm Level Hyst.

Step for level sensor setting.
WE RECOMMEND NOT TO EDIT THE SET VALUE.

T89 Gain TEV

On pasteurizing machines, only after having calibrated this probe to a
temperature of 4° through step T33, it is possible to calibrate it to 65°
with the same modes by changing step T89.
With this step it is possible to calibrate the real hopper mix temperature.
This must be done with the machine in Pasteurization with a current
temperature of 65° C.
With this electronic control unit the machine must not be brought to
room temperature to calibrate the probes.
Check the hopper temperature using a precision thermometer. If the current
value is not 65°C (as indicated on the display), press the Up or Down keys
until the temperature matches the thermometer reading.

PLEASE NOTE:
 The Gain calibration is not allowed if the probe detected temperature is
lower than 50 °C. In this case the step is disabled and the temperature
to be modified is not displayed.
 Before installing a new probe it is important to cover it with conducting
paste before threading it into its housing.
T90 Gain TGV
For pasteurizing machines, only after having set this probe to the
temperature of 4° through step T35, you can set this to 65° with the
same procedure, by changing step T91.
See step T89
T91 Gain TGV
For Pasteurizing machines, Only after having calibrated this probe to a
temperature of 4° through step T35, it is possible to calibrate it to
temperatures close to the temperature of Pasto set done by the (TEV) hopper
before reaching the pasteurization set, but with the temperature above 60°.
If necessary, set the machine to Stop mode, and correct the calibration by
changing step T91.
See step T89.

T92 Gain TEC2

For pasteurizing machines, only after having set this probe to the
temperature of 4° through step T36, you can set this to 65° with the
same procedure, by changing step T92.
See step T89.

T93 Gain TEV2

For pasteurizing machines, only after having set this probe to the
temperature of 4° through step T37, you can set this to 65° with the
same procedure, by changing step T93.
See step T89.

 If an alarm is enabled, the machine will be protected by that alarm.

CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT / SOFTWARE UPGRADE

As far as the TC board maintenance is concerned, it is important to distinguish

between two different cases:

1. SOFTWARE UPGRADE:

a. the sw is upgraded on the control unit to add new functions;

b. after SW upgrade (see description below) the AUTO-SETUP (see above)
does not have to be carried out;
c. check and set the value of any new programming steps added to the
table.

2. CONTROL UNIT REPLACEMENT:

a. first of all, if possible, copy the values of the original CPU table (by
copying them manually from the display or by using the TC-Interface
tool) so that they can be transferred to the new CPU after the
AUTOSETUP.
b. Note the calibration values of probes TEV1, TEV2, TEC1, TEC2 and TGV
(see chap. Probe calibration in the event of control unit replacement)
c. whenever a control unit is replaced, the AUTO-SETUP procedure has to
be run on the new board;
d. events and counters must be reset;

Note: usually, all control units delivered as spare parts are already
programmed. The sw upgrade and AUTOSETUP operations are carried
out in the factory before sending the CPU. However, keep the
operations in mind and carry them out when using a CPU that was
initially programmed for another family of machines.

Once AUTOSETUP is carried out on the new board, take note of the values of the
programming table and of TEV1, TEV2, TEC1, TEC2 and TGV probe calibration values
(see chap. Probe calibration in the event of control unit replacement), then check the
calibration of trimmer HOT (T12).
SOFTWARE UPDATE

For a CPU software upgrade, it is necessary to use the special serial cable supplied
by Carpigiani, connect it to the CPU through the Serial port (see electronic board
layout) and to the USB port (or RS232) of any Personal Computer (PC).
The software can be upgraded by transferring the new version from the computer to
the Control Unit using the TCBootloader application.

- Connect the cable code: IC577400056 to the USB port and to the serial port on the

board
- in case of serial port, connect cable code IC577400032 to the serial ports on the
board and on the computer

- power the machine

Once TCBootloader has been installed:

- Start the program

- Press Browse and select the software to be loaded

TREBAVEVO_CH_SFT_BOOT_*.mot
- Press Start

After a software update, offsets of the probes and Trimmer Hot shall NOT be
reprogrammed.
MACHINE TEST

Machine test mode allows you to test the machine inputs and outputs to check their
correct operation.
To activate the test function it is necessary to set to Yes the step T83 - Enable Test
of the programming table and then power off the machine.
When you restart the machine the display shows the menu for selection of test
mode:

STOP => RUN

PROD => TEST

 RUN: by pressing Stop (or not pressing any button for 30 seconds) the step
Enable Test is reset and Run mode is restored, corresponding to the normal
operation of the machine.
 TEST: by pressing Start the machine test procedure is activated, during which
any machine functions and alarms are disabled. You can still access the
programming function (only at the beginning of the Test), connect TC-
Interface, download events and manage the table.

If you press Start to access Test mode, the display shows:

PROD =>TEST
RESET=>AUTOSETUP

 TEST: by pressing Production key the machine test is activated.

 AUTOSETUP: by pressing Reset/Storage key and confirming the operation, the
machine carries out an initialization phase consisting of:
o Machine autosetup (the display shows "Autosetup Done")
o Reset events (the display shows "Reset Events")
o Reset Counters (the display shows "Reset Counters")
At the end, the display shows again the choice between Test and Autosetup.
DESCRIPTION OF THE STEPS

The Machine Test procedure involves a sequence of steps to check the proper
operation of each input and output of the machine.
Each phase involves:
 Display of the status of input/output to check
 Display of the instruction about the operation to carry out
(ex.: "Open IMS")
 Storage of an event at the phase end containing:
o Name of the phase (example string "Test EVFV")
o Result of the phase. The field may show the following values:
 "Pass": the check was carried out correctly
 "Jump": the check was bypassed by the tester
o 24V and digital input status
o Probe value
o Level value
o T/A value

In case of power failure during testing operations, when the voltage is again
available the test restarts from the phase at which it was interrupted.

Functions of the keys during each testing phase:

KEY OPERATION DESCRIPTION

Stop It stops the test and returns to the beginning, displaying the
choice "TEST/AUTOSETUP"

Output It allows to enable/disable the outputs, if applicable by the

activation test phase. In this case the key flashes at the phase input.
The output is activated by pressing the key and deactivated
after a fixed time or after a second pressure.
You may repeat the test by pressing the Cleaning key again.

Check OK It allows to go to the next phase after a positive check:

- o in case of input test (IN), the key is disabled until the
Next phase control unit finds the correct transition. Then the key
flashes, allowing system to go to the next phase
o in case of output test (OUT), the key is disabled until
the operator activates it (Cleaning key). Production
key should be pressed only if the visual inspection by
the operator shows the correct output activation.
The event "Pass" is logged.

Check not It allows system to go to the next phase bypassing the

/ performed check.
- The event "Jump" is logged, to indicate that the check has
Next phase not been performed.

Previous It allows system to go back to the previous phase.

phase

Example of an input test: Test IMS (spigot door)

The display shows for one second the number of the phase over the total number of
phases:
TEST 01/33

Then the first line shows the name of the phase and the status of the input to test (0
= input off; 1 = input on), while the second line indicates the operation to carry out:

TEST IMS IMS=0 TEST IMS IMS=0

Open IMS Rimuovi Portello

In this example, the removal of the spigot door causes the switching of the input:

TEST IMS IMS=1 TEST IMS IMS=1
