TC

1
This manual includes information and procedures to assist technicians in setting up and repairing
the machine, if need be.

This is one handbook for models PSP, PSP COLORE and BAR COLORE.
In the version Bar Colore (non-pasteurizing) is not enabled the Pasteurization program (step
PAS=NO).
In the version PSP colours are not enabled (step COL=NO).

2
ON DISPLAY

The CPU carries a test on out keyboard and display by lighting up all led for a functional check,
then a “t” will be displayed and soon followed by a digit (ex. 01) indicating the software version
installed in the machine.
EXAMPLE:
t.05 means version 05

In case of machine malfunction, your technician will have always to mention this number (software
version), as well as the machine serial number on data plate, in order to take the best advantage of
Technical Service.
Next display is Mod followed by the model number (ex.001):

Mod means Model

001 means Model 001

And last, writing “Con” followed by the number of cones in 2 displays, tens of
thousands/thousands, then hundreds/tens/units (ex.32,514):

Con means the number of cones

32

514 means 32,514

During the routine operation, the display shows the temperature in the tank (TEV) and during ice
cream production cycle it shows the product consistency.
In cleaning mode, the display shows the cylinder temperature, as indicated by the sensor TEC.

NUMBER OF CONES DISPENSED AND ZEROIZING

After displaying the version SW and after “Con”, the display will indicate the number of cones
dispensed till to that moment, by first displaying thousands and then the hundreds:
for example:
1st display 65
2nd display 345
it means we have dispensed 65,.345 cones.

The number of cones can be zeroized by pressing STOP for 5” when turning on.

Dispensed cones number is stored according to a resolution of 5 units.

Cone count takes place if the photocell is at least engaged 1”.

FUNCTIONS
Display
STOP OFF

In this function the machine is off and relevant red led is on. On display you see TEV.
If, from any function, one presses Stop, the display will indicate “OFF” for 2 seconds, then back to
TEV.

From Production, Storage and Pasteurization, it is necessary to press Stop 2”, so that the machine
sets at Stop and you avoid “touch” problems with touch-controlled keyboards.
From stop position you get a time count when the mix has reached the level.
Should this time go beyond 24 hours, you would then have WAS on display and Wash programme
is executed. Machine wash is forced and production is inhibited.
Reset conditions are the same as by wash (IMS cut-off and make).

SELECTION

If one repeatedly presses this push-button, one can select following functions:
Prd, StO, CLE, PAS.
Last selection you choose will be activated after 5 seconds.

DISTRIBUTION
Prd
If “ Prd” is kept on display, Distribution (or Production) will be activated.
CYLINDER
The product is cooled in the cylinder till Hot value programmed in Programming user.
Actual Consistency on display
MP is activated 30” on function access and every time a cone is dispensed (with a 10” lag on cut-
out).
Every time a cone is dispensed, WASH DAY will be displayed 5”. The display will show W soon
followed by the number of days needed to WASH day.
When the desired consistency is reached (Hot), hot gas will be let in (this is programmable) and the
beater goes on running 2 more seconds (or the time programmed in step t02), then it stops.
Therefore:
if HOT > set HOT and MIR OFF Æ MA ON 2” then OFF
if HOT > set HOT and MIR ON Æ MA ON 15” then OFF (drip lid closet, in this case the cone
will NOT be computed).
If HOT has already been reached and the machine is in stand-by in distribution mode, when you
dispense a cone, the beater motor will re-start and run for some 15 seconds, during which real HOT
value will be displayed and consistency controlled.

10
After Hot has been reached, if no cones are dispensed, the beater will start every 10 (step t03) and
run for 10 seconds, in order to control ice cream: if it is lower than Hot - hysteresis, (8 points under
HOT – step t01) the compressor, too, will start together with the solenoid valve (EVFC) in order to
bring ice cream to the programmed consistency value.
During the distribution of cones, when mix level in the tank is low, the CPU will light up the LOW-
LEVEL led fixed, so allowing the distribution of cones numbers set in step t23, only.

If the temperature TE1 reaches a value lower or same as –25 (it can be programmed in step t28), the
machine will set at the condition of reached HOT.

TANK
The display will now show the temperature inside the tank (TEV); if, under these conditions, tank,
too, needs cooling, i.e., if TEV senses that value inside the tank is higher than the SET fixed
through step t26, the compressor will continue running and the tank solenoid valve will be
energized in place of the cylinder solenoid valve, so as to bring tank mix up to the storage
temperature.

By pressing Selection when you are providing tank storage, TE1 will be displayed for 5”.

Tank Anti-icing (PSP)

If, in tank cooling, TGV reaches a temperature lower than the one in step t21, hot gas (EVRC) will
be given to the tank for a hysteresis programmed in step t24.

Anti-icer Tank (non-PSP untis)

If, while the tank is cooled down, TGV reaches a temperature lower than the one found in step t21,
EVFV and MC cut out for an hysteresis programmed in step t24.

11
Changing product consistency:
Product consistency can be changed as follows:

1) Access to Programming User by pressing Stop and Selection keys at

the same time, release them as soon as the display shows “000”. If no key
is pressed within 5”, the machine will set back at Stop. +

2) Press Selection in order to change the value by increasing it up to

“012”. The value can be modified 000 to 050.

Confirm by pressing Stop.

3) Wait until the display shows Hot and its value (this can be changed
between 40 and 120 with the Selection key) alternatively. Increasing this
number will also increase ice cream hardness and beater motor input.
So change then Hot at the desired value.

4) Wait for 30 seconds to the value storage; the machine will set back at
Stop and will automatically show the temperature in the tank.

Autosetup
Causing a short circuit between earth and pin 8 of connector 3 while machine is in Production,
autosetup program will start. The card will emit an intermittent beep and the number on display will
be self-setup in relation to relative consistency.
See HOT setting.

Access to Production is not allowed if:

- you have to Pasteurize (Pasteurization started at least since 10” and not yet completed)
- the number of cone is out and level is below the minimum
- wash today
- low level (access may not be forced)
- general alarm forcing the machine to Stop

For the version COLORE:

By pressing Selection you can select all syrups.

Led scrolls from right to left side.

12
Display
STORAGE Sto

The function of Storage is to bring product inside the tank and the cylinder to the temperature of
4°C (to be programmed in step t26).
As far as the tank is concerned, storage is therein controlled by TEV (NON-pasteurizing units by
TGV), whereas as to the cylinder, it is controlled by TEC. The storage inside the cylinder is always
dynamic.
Every time the machine is set to Storage, all values of TEC sensor (cylinder temperature) and TEV
are read out MP starts and runs for 15” fixed.
If cylinder and tank need be cooled at the same time, tank has priority.
Under these conditions, cooling alternates 30” for tank and 15” for cylinder.

In this function, the display shows the tank temperature TEV, whereas, if you press the Selection

key TEC will be displayed 5”.

Se access to Storage is automatic from a Pasteur. End, the message END will be displayed. Writing
will be reset with STOP (the machine sets at Stop).

When EVFV switches off, MMV will also switch off after the programmed lag in step t25.

Tank Anti-icing (PSP)

If, in tank cooling, TGV reaches a temperature lower than in step t21, hot gas (EVRC) will be given
into for a hysteresis programmed in step t24. This also happens if the cylinder was being cooled .

Anti-icer Tank (non-PSP untis)

If, while the tank is cooled down, TGV reaches a temperature lower than the one found in step t21,
EVFV and MC cut out for an hysteresis programmed in step t24.

Access to Storage is not allowed if:

- Alarm A30 (Forced Pasteurization) has occurred, i.e., TEV>15°C 1h after IMS closing and mix
level is not low.

13
Display
CLEANING CLE

In Cleaning function, the display shows TEC cylinder temperature.

By pressing Selection, TGV will be displayed 5”.

In this function MA and MP are activated.

By pressing Selection 3” long, MA switches off and only is MP; in such a case, the first
comma led will become blinking (left side digit).

By pressing Selection again 3”, MA will activate again (the blinking led will switch off).

If the machine is left in Cleaning position, it will automatically return to STOP after 30”, in order to
avoid a severe wear of both cylinder and beater; the display will show tank temperature (TEV)
again.

For the version COLORE:

Once entering the function and pressing the Selection key, the first syrup will be activated and
the display shows time countdown (30”).

By pressing Selection key again, you will activated the second syrup .

A further pressure on Selection key will activate the third syrup .

If pressing Selection once more, you return to Cleaning.

14
PASTEURIZATION
PAS
In Pasteurization, the display shows tank temperature TEV.

By pressing Selection TEC will be displayed 5” long.

On access to Pasteurization, MP will be activated for 15”.

The product, both in tank and in cylinder is heated up to 65°C (this value can be programmed for
both tank and cylinder), kept at this temperature 30 minutes (fixed) and then cooled down to the
storage temperature.
On cycle end, the monitor will display “END”, i.e., pasteurization programme has successfully
been executed.
The beater inside the cylinder turns at intervals during Heating, Pause, Cooling (from +65°C up to
+20°C in the cylinder) and since the moment when the storage temperature is reached inside the
cylinder.
Normally the beater inside the cylinder turns 15 seconds and it is 30 seconds off.
During cooling cycle, the beater turns continuously, from +20°C up to cylinder storage temperature.
Even when the tank reaches the storage temperature earlier than the cylinder and TEC>20°C,
beating inside the cylinder is forcedly ON (continuous).

15
HEATING
Heating execution follows on “positive hysteresis”; it means that if you set a temperature of 65°C,
heating will be deactivated at 67°C and restarts at 65°C.

If you want to skip heating and 30 minutes-pause, press the push-button Selection about 3
seconds; by this you will pass to Cooling cycle and will skip 30-minutes pause.
During Heating process, the compressor heats cylinder and tank by turns.

They are usually 30” by the tank and 15" by the cylinder. Temperatures are nevertheless controlled
and outputs are activated through following table:

If TEV < TEC than : ≥ 4°C ON EVRV 46” ON EVRC 15”

If TEV < TEC than : ≥ 3°C and <4°C ON EVRV 38” ON EVRC 15”
If TEV < TEC than : ≥ 2°C and <3°C ON EVRV 34” ON EVRC 15”
If TEV < TEC than : ≥ 1°C and <2°C ON EVRV 32” ON EVRC 15”

PAUSE

The beater motor runs 15 seconds and stops 2 minutes, as long as pause time has finished.
If the cylinder needs be cooled during the pasteurization pause, the beater motor runs 15 seconds
and stops 30 seconds.

In order to skip the 30-minutes pause after reaching 65°C, press the key Selection
2 seconds long and you will pass to Cooling process, while skipping the 30-minutes pause.

COOLING
The product is cooled to the storage temperature.
On cycle end, the machine sets to storage in Pasteurization mode and displays “END”.

Tank Anti-icing (PSP)

If in tank cooling, TGV reaches a temperature which is lower than the one in step t21, hot gas
(EVRC) will be given to the tank for hysteresis programmed in step t24. this also happens when the
cylinder was being cooled.

Anti-icer Tank (non-PSP untis)

If, while the tank is cooled down, TGV reaches a temperature lower than the one found in step t21,
EVFV and MC cut out for an hysteresis programmed in step t24..

AUTOMATIC PASTEURIZATION
Pasteurization is automatically executed every day at 2:00 (programmable).
The machine is normally in Production or Storage; when Pasteurization time comes, the machine
automatically moves from Production or from Storage modes to Pasteurization in order to execute
it.
If the Pasteurization is not completed successfully, the machine will NOT be able to enter
Production, till a pasteurization cycle is not executed.

16
PASTEURIZATION CHECKS
- Pasteurization may not be started if mix inside the tank is below the mix level.
In order to force the access to Pasteurization mode even if RESERVE led is on, it is necessary to press the key

Selection and hold it 10 seconds down.

In this way, you “skip” check lock of tank level.
After 10” (warning: no display for confirming), release the key and press it again in order to select the Pasteurization
function.

- If Pasteurization program starter 5” before, at least, it will always have to be completed anyway. As a consequence,
the access to Production is no more allowed till a Pasteurization cycle is not completed.

- In order to skip heating cycle and select Cooling, press Selection and hold it down. The message Jum will
appear on display and the machine will start cooling.

FAN MOTOR

MV can run at low and high speed.

In Pasteurization cooling MV runs at high speed, by all other functions it runs, instead, at low speed
(exception made for the first 5” pickup)..

17
TANK MIXER MOTOR

In Production and Storage:

MMV is ON in parallel with EVFV and EVRV.

In Cleaning:
MMV always OFF

In Pasteurization:
MMV is always ON at “END” then ON in parallel with AVFV and EVRV.

MIR

For the version COLORE:

MIR is caption for Micro Spigot. MIR is used to start the beater and to activate the syrup lines.
When operating the ice cream dispensing lever, MIR is operated, as well, and makes the beater
motor start at once (product consistency is so controlled and the compressor will start if ice cream
consistency is below HOT – differential; solenoid valve relevant to the syrup selected will energize.
When releasing MIR, relevant syrup solenoid valve will immediately stop; ice cream will instead
continue coming out (for a short time) in order to clean the syrup dispenser.
It is recommended to close the dispensing lever slowly, so as to thoroughly clean the syrup
dispenser with white ice cream.

MIX LEVEL

Tank mix low level is indicated by led near to relevant symbol lights up. When low mix led is on,
access to Pasteurization as well as to Production modes is not allowed (the machine will
automatically set to Storage).
In Production it is possible to dispense just the number of cones set in step t21.

“LOW” will blink on display when mix level is low, to indicate “low mix” in any function. In
“Pizza Hut” executions an intermittent acoustic signal is also activated (additional buzzer located
behind the front plate)

18
WEEKLY CLEANING WASH

In Production, every time the beater motor starts, when pressing the production push-button or an
ice cream portion is dispenses, the machine displays W-n: it means that still n- days are to machine
wash.
The message on monitor is displayed 5 seconds, then, display will be again the usual one.
For example, if when entering Production, “Wnn” is displayed, it means there are still 8 days to
next cleaning.
The day the machine must be washed (W00), ice cream production is inhibited, so the machine does
not accept the Production function and it sets to Storage. WAS (abbreviation of WASH TODAY)
will be displayed.

Wash day decrement takes place every day between 23.56 and 23.57H.

19
ALARMS

The machine is provided with a self-“CHECK“ device warning about any possible troubles of the
machine itself.
“CHECK” led (a spot on the low right side of the display) blinks when an alarm has occurred and
then reset.
An alarm message on display means that you shall have a look at the table below and check.
The machine can also be used in distribution mode, though a non critical alarm has occurred; if, on
the contrary, it deals with a critical one, the machine will not allow to enter the distribution
function; if this is the case, press STOP and do not use your machine till its repair.
Press Selection in order to cancel the writing on display after alarm reset.
Available alarms are listed in the table here below:

ALARM DESCRIPTION

A01 (PTMA) Thermal (bimetallic) protection to beater motor tripped (by Motor NERI,
only; CARPANELLI one has an internal PT).

A02 Thermal Relay Compressor or Thermal Protection to Compressor tripped.

(RTC/PTMC)
A03 (TESV) Tank safety thermostat tripped.

A04 (TESC) Cylinder safety thermostat tripped.

A05 (TEV) Tank sensor faulty (broken or under short circuit).

The only function you may have access to, is Cleaning.
Machine sets at Stop.
Above 5 critical Alarms cause the machine to set at Stop, while led blinks if alarm is active
and fixed if reset.
A06 (TEC) Cylinder sensor faulty (broken or under short circuit).
If this alarm takes place from Pasteurization or Storage modes, the machine
will set at Stop.
If it takes place from Cleaning or Production modes, the machine stays in the
function and led will blink and writing A06 will be on.
If in Production, A06 is cancelled after pressing Selection and Hot will be
displayed; led keeps on blinking to indicate that the Sensor is out of order (in
Stop A06 will be back on display).
Once reset, the led becomes a fixed light and the alarm resets by pressing
Selection.

A07 (TGV) Tank evaporator sensor faulty (broken or under short circuit).
This alarm causes led to blink but it does not stop the machine (which stays in
the current function).
By pressing Selection, A07 is cancelled and the display is back to the running
function. Led blinks till alarm reset.
Also by NON-pasteurizing units, the alarm is not a critical one and
consequently the machine does not set at Stop.

A09 (IMS) Safety Magnet Switch.

20
Front lid is open. Wash Day set back according to the programmed value.

A11 (PRESS) High pressure switch has tripped.

If it trips 3 times running or the Pressure switch has tripped 2’ running, the
machine sets at Stop.

A12 (TE1) Alarm Cylinder evaporator sensor (broken or under short circuit).
This alarm causes check led to blink but it does not stop the machine (which
stays in the running function).
A12 is cancelled by pressing Selection and the display is back to the running
function. Led blinks till alarm reset.

A15 Blackout.
(BLACK OUT) The machine gets back to the function where it was, exception made for
Cleaning, where it sets back at Stop or Pasteurization Cooling, following the
table Blackout Control.

A20 (BELT) DELTA TGVTEV – Active by PSP versions, ONLY.

In Pasteurization Heating, if TGV temperature becomes >= TEV than value
programmed in step DELTA TGVTEV, A20 will be displayed and the
machine will set at STOP.
Check MMV belt.

A22 In Production, the beater motor is controlled and if it is ON more than 15

(TIME OUT) minutes without HOT being reached, the machine will set at the condition of
“reached Hot” with alarm A22.
If consistency is for 15’ below HOB (HOT Block), the machine will set at
Stop.

A24 When low level is on (level led is on, too) and in Production mode, you
(MIX OUT) dispense a number of cones same as or higher than the value set in step t23
(Last Cones) A24 will be displayed and the machine will set at Conservation.
Top up in order to reset the alarm.

A30 Active by PSP models, ONLY.

If TEV gets over 15°C in Stop, a Pasteurization cycle will be forced and the
display will show A30.
This alarm is not taken into consideration if:
- front lid was opened less than 1 hour before (IMS)
- if TEV temperature increases too fast (mix filling at room temperature in
tank). 1 hour later, TEV is checked again and if it is still over 15°C, A30 will
take place.

21
Wnn - WAS In production, every time the beater motor starts and you press production key
(WASH-nn days) or you dispense an ice cream portion, you will have Wnn on display, meaning
that there are still nn days to the machine wash.
See WEEKLY CLEANING.
The last day, message WAS will be on display and it is reset through
Selection key once the machine has been washed.
Also when:
the machine has been left 24 hours or more in Stop position with a high mix
level, machine cleaning is compulsory (WASH) and the alarm resets after its
cleaning (IMS).

Stb Stb (STAND BY – HOT BLOCK)

(Stand By) In Production the message STB might be displayed, meaning Stand By or ice
cream not ready for distribution. The consistency read is lower than the value
programmed in step t31 HOT Block (HOB).
If an ice cream portion is dispensed (MIR busy) everything stops (MA, MC,
EVFC OFF; MP will be instead ON if it was on and it starts and runs 15” in
case it was off).
As soon as the photocell gets free, Production restarts, so also restarting MA
and MC + EVFC.
When the consistency goes below HOB-5 marks hysteresis, Stb will be
displayed again.

PHS Phase controller.

Machine stays in Stop.
It is necessary to exchange 2 phases in order to enable the operation. Alarm
resets on switching on.

--- Alarm “---” is an additional pressure switch on the filter with NC contact
(Filter) which is opened when it needs be cleaned.
for Japanese On contact opening, check led (comma) will blink and “---” will be displayed
market, only 5” every minute (in all functions).
On alarm reset, check led gets fixed, whereas “---” will be on display till
STOP is pressed again.
By pressing Stop, the alarm as well as the display of “---” will reset.
Step t38 in programming enables or disables this alarm.

LOW The blinking “LOW” will be displayed when mix level is low and reserve led
(MIX LEVEL) switches on. It is active in all functions, exception made for Cleaning.
By Pizza Hut versions an acoustic signal is active till level topping up.

22
BLACKOUT

In the event of a blackout, if the machine was in:

- Stop or Cleaning: on power return, it will set at STOP

- Production, Storage or Heating, or Pause during Pasteurization, on power return, the machine
will set back to the function where it was before the blackout. A15 will be displayed.

- Cooling step in Pasteurization,

on power return, the machine checks the temperature and how long the power failure lasted; if it
lasts more than what indicated in the table, the machine will repeat the pasteurization completely ,
while CHECK led is ON and AL15 appearing in the “events list“.
Otherwise, if blackout time is shorter than the one shown in the table below, the machine will return
to the function where it was before it took place.

Temperature Time

68°C ÷ 50°C 30 minutes

49°C ÷ 15°C 10 minutes
14°C ÷ 10°C 20 minutes
9°C ÷ 4°C 2 hours

For a correct operation, check time setting.

PROGRAMMING STEPS DESCRIPTION

Step Description

t01 Hysteresis HOT

(DIF) A smaller value makes HOT more sensitive when dispensing the product. With machine
in Distribution and MIR being activated, after a compressor stop by HOT, the compressor
starts again when consistency (on display) becomes lower than Set HOT minus the value
set in this step.

t02 Lag MA
(DEL) It is the time during which the beater continues running also when the compressor stops
by HOT. No consistency control in that time.

t03 Cyclic Timer in Distribution

(CYC) The beater starts every 10 minutes (programmed in this step) in order to control ice cream
consistency.

t04 Trimmer HOT

(EPT) It is a number automatically set after Autosetup procedure. If you increase this number,
ice cream consistency will decrease at the end of the production cycle.
Number setting can also be carried out manually.

Caution: before modifying this number, check beater motor current, which must not
exceed 110% of the rating value.

t05 Hour
(ORA) Hour setting.

t06 Minutes
(MIN) Minutes setting.

t07 Seconds
(SEC) Seconds setting.

t08 Day of the Week

(WEK) Week day setting.

t09 Day of the Month

(DAY) Month day setting.

t10 Month
(MES) Month setting.

t11 Year
(YAR) Year setting.

27
t12 Correction TEV at 4°C
(TEV) Tank temperature setting TEV.
Set the machine at Storage mode and wait for the temperature of 4°C to be reached both
in the cylinder and in the tank at trimmed temperatures.
Using a precise thermometer with the probe inside the tank, reading on display must
agree with the value read on the thermometer, otherwise value read on display must be

adjusted through Selection push-button so that both readings agree.

t13 Correction TEC at 4°C

(TEC) Tank temperature setting TEC.
Set the machine at Storage mode and wait for the temperature of 4°C to be reached both
in the cylinder and in the tank at trimmed temperatures.
Dispense a portion and read the mix temperature with a precise thermometer.
Reading to be consequently corrected as by TEV.

t14 Correction TGV at 4°C

(TGV) Tank evaporator temperature TGV (used for tank defrosting).
Set the machine at Storage mode and wait for the temperature of 4°C to be reached both
in the cylinder and in the tank at trimmed temperatures.
This temperature shall be set in this step by reading the bulb of a precise thermometer
into the bulb pocket located in the tank evaporator.
Reading to be consequently corrected as by TEV
t15 Correction TE1 at 4°C
(TE1) Tank evaporator temperature TGV (used for tank defrosting).
Set the machine at Storage mode and wait for the temperature of 4°C to be reached both
in the cylinder and in the tank at trimmed temperatures.
This temperature shall be set in this step by reading the bulb of a precise thermometer
into the bulb pocket located in the cylinder evaporator.
Reading to be consequently corrected as by TEV.

t16 Fan Motor Speed

As explained in paragraph Pasteurization, MV can work either at low or high speed.
In cooling, Pasteurization mode, MV runs at high speed, by all other functions it instead
runs at low speed (excepted for the first pickup 5”).
Within this parameter you can adjust MV low speed.
By setting a small value (1) MV will run slowly, and at a higher value (5) it will run at a
faster speed.
Lowering the speed will also reduce MV noise.
Warning:
it is recommended to set a value lower than the default one only in case of real need
and provided that this will not jeopardize the operation of freezing unit (it is not
advisable to reduce the speed in a very hot room). Do not change this parameter
unless you are authorized by the manufacturer.

t17 Colore
For machine model Colore = YES.
For machine model not Colore = NO.

28
t18 Pasteurizing
By Pasteurizing unit = YES
By non Pasteurizing unit = NO. In this case, in storage mode, TGV will be tested in place
of TEV in tank storage. Pasteurization inhibited.

t19 Cylinder Pasteurization

(PTC) Pasteurization temperature of cylinder.

T20 Tank Pasteurization

(PTV) Pasteurization temperature of tank.

t21 Tank anti-icing

(DEF) When TGV temperature reaches a value which is the same as/ or lower than the one
programmed in this step, the solenoid valve for tank cooling switches off and hot gas
solenoid valve energizes in order to defrost the tank.

t22 Delta TGV-TEV (BELT)

(D_T) In Pasteurization Heating, if TGV temperature becomes ≥ TEV than the value
programmed in step DELTA TGVTEV (this step), AL20 will be displayed and the
machine will automatically set at STOP.

t23 Last Cones

(CON) This is the number of cones the machine can dispense in Production mode; after that, low
mix level led will switch on.
Machine will thence automatically set at storage mode.

t24 Hysteresis Tank Icing

(IIC) When the temperature TGV reaches a value same as/or lower than the one programmed
in step t21 (Tank Anti-icing), tank cooling solenoid valve switches off and tank
defrosting hot gas solenoid activates and is energized till the temperature TGV increases
up to the value set in this step.

t25 Lag MMV on EVFV

(PST) For Holland, only.
Lag minutes MMV. While cooling the tank (in any function where tank cooling is
provided) and tank temperature is reached, the compressor stops and tank mixer motor
(MMV) continues running for the time programmed in this step.

t26 Storage Temperature

(STO) Cylinder/tank temperature storage

t27 Warm Gas

(GAS) Hot gas solenoid valve excitation time (EVRC). Every time EVFC deactivates EVRC is
energized for a time that can be programmed in this step.

t28 Cylinder Anti-icing

(ICE) Cylinder anti-icing temperature Set. Activating in Distribution, only. When TE1 reads a
value lower than the one set in this step, the machine sets at reached Hot state.

29
t29 (SPS) Pasteurization Time
Automatic Pasteurization start time.
If set at no, automatic Pasteurization is disabled.

T30 It indicates the number of days to machine washing.

(WDY) Machine must be cleaned or it will jam up (production will not be accepted and machine
will pass to Storage automatically).
Days starts decreasing between 23.56 and 23.57h.
If set to 0, wash control is disabled.

T31 HOT Lock

(HOB) HOT value, under which, if we try to take an ice cream portion out, everything will stop
(MA and MC OFF). As soon as the photocell is free, Production will start so starting
again MA and MC, as well. The message displayed in Production when cone distribution
is inhibited, is STB , i.e., STAND BY. When consistency goes below HOB – 5 points
hysteresis, STB will be again on display.

t32 Lag Single-phase

(TIR) By SINGLEPHASE units, set this step at 500 (50 Hz) or 460 (60 Hz); by three-phased
ones at 000.

t33 °C/°F
(CEL) Temperature display in °C or °F.
°C=no / °F=yes
t34 A03 TES
(TES) It enables (YES) or disables (NO) tank and cylinder safety thermostat alarm.

t35 A01 RT
(RT) It enables (YES) or disables (NO) beater motor overload relay alarm.

t36 A11 PRESS

(PR) It enables (YES) or disables (NO) high pressure switch alarm.

AUTOSETUP

If necessary, l’AUTOSETUP may only be executed after the Manufacturer’s

authorization.

Following procedure sets all programmable values which are same as the ones indicated in the
column of relevant model in programming table.
To do that, it is necessary:
• to unplug the machine;

• hold Selection push-button and plug-in again; (ATTENTION: in case of touch panel
keyboards, push-button shall be pressed 1 second after turning the machine on).

• go on holding Selection button down.

Writing “Mod” will be on display and it is soon followed by a digit which indicates the machine
model number.
Mod

01

• release the Selection key. Press it again in order to select the model (01 or 02).
• Wait for 5 seconds.
The display will turn on automatically and the version sw, as well as model and cones will be
visualized.

WARNING: Every time a new model is inserted, sensors offset are set to zero. Therefore, we
recommend to check the programming table before executing any autosetup and thence to set all
offset values again.

EVENTS

The machine is provided with a big storage space that helps us store most of the events (function
you select, alarms, ...).
To read all stored events, machine must be connected to a PC with a special serial cable supplied by
the manufacturer.
Start Carpigiani program and connect the cable to Serial access.

The events list helps us understand when and how many times a certain alarm has occurred.
Moreover, we can have a report informing us about the pasteurization
Maximum number of events is 1000; the last one will be lost to give place o the newest one.

Events are not set at zero with auto-setup.

32
HOT SETTING

In order to set the machine, fill the cylinder with mix and select Production function.
With ammetric pliers check beater motor input.
Once the compressor has been activated, provide a short circuit between earth (yellow/green) and
pin8 of the 18-pin terminal board 3 (see card layout).

Pin8 MRS3:

An increasing number will be on display. A beep intermittent sound follows.

When voltage read through the ammetric pliers is same as the beater motor rated value, eliminate
the short circuit in order to complete HOT setting procedure and store the “TRIMMER HOT”
setting value in programming step t04.

WARNING:
NEVER EXCEED MOTOR INPUT RATING VALUE.
