1. What is your research all about?

Our research entitled “green roof as an alternative roof for a sustainable school
buildings” is all about planning to construct/build a green roof as an alternative
roof to the traditional one making it more sustainable, especially to learners
and the environment.

We came up with this study because of its benefits, including the
environmental benefits of green roof, energy efficiency, and stormwater
management.
Also, we have observed the issues of the traditional roof including leakage,
poor insulation, lack of eco-friendliness and limited lifespan.

3. Why did you choose green roof as your feasibility study if there are only few
green roof here in the Philippines?

It may be true that green roofs are not yet widely adopted in the Philippines,
but studying them can pave the way for future developments and help raise
awareness about their potential benefits.

Answer: The significance of our study lies in the exploration of green roofs as
an alternative roofing solution for sustainable school buildings. Green roofs
offer numerous environmental benefits, such as reducing energy consumption,
improving air quality, managing stormwater runoff, and providing insulation. By
implementing green roofs, schools can contribute to a more sustainable built
environment and create healthier learning spaces for students.
