Exercise 9:

I’m in the region of Yoro Honduras. It has been raining since morning. Clouds are so dark
that we cannot see the sunlight at all. The lighting, followed by thunder, is the only
brightness in the sky. Such weather has been around us for few days now, but yesterday
something happened that surprised us all.

People around me have been taking safety issues and getting ready for a lockdown in a place
where water flow will not enter, in case of a flooding since yesterday morning. However,
nobody was prepared for what occurred just at the end of the day.

Rain was not stopping, and even a big storm was coming our way, it looked like a hurricane!
Everybody around me was panicking and hoping for this weather to not cause too much
damage or take lives. Raindrops didn’t look like usual, they were mixed with something
bigger, we couldn’t make out what it was, since it wasn’t safe to go outside. One of my family
members still looked out of the window, curiosity overtook her. A few seconds after she
shouted - “It is raining frogs!”. It is hard to believe such a statement and I bet no one can
blame us for not believing her at first. However, her shocked face made us also look outside
and it was really happening! It was raining frogs. We could hear the sounds on the rooftop
when they were falling, I have never heard of such phenomena.

Thankfully, night has passed and all of us are safe. Some people's homes were flooded in our
region and some property was damaged because of falling frogs though.

The day after that, like I mentioned, it’s still raining, but the electricity came back, which
was out because of the storm. Our region was on every tv channel, we became famous
because it rained frogs!

Later scientist explained this phenomenon and said, possibly such heavy storms bring fish
and frogs from underwater rivers somehow.

It was truly a bizarre experience!
