"Now You Hear Me"

Now You Hear Me is a call to all humans that what they are doing is bad, genuinely bad.
We humans don't think about what we're doing, and as a result, we don't or can't see that nature is
suffering and in need of help; this world needs our help, but we humans have destroyed nature; we only
think about ourselves, but we can't think about the nature that is suffering as a result of our actions.

The lines on the poem present the environmental problems that the world face today is “The peace
then vanished, gone and lost. Minds all governed with selfish thoughts. Lives went shorter, feuds went
longer”.

The speaker of the poem “Now You Hear Me” are the humans and the nature itself.
The poem is a contextualized free verse poem, narrative, and lyrical for the 21st Century Literature from
the Philippines and the World by Mr. David Dichoso.

It is described that Nature was taintless and preserved in the Province of Quirino, a long time ago.

The author’s purpose on writing this poem is for us to realize that everything we do has consequences
and for us to realize that the effects on our wrong deeds is doing no good to our nature.

As a student, and a member of the community, I will protect our environment by helping on the tree
planting activities and support other activities that is connected on protecting the environment.

“You gifted a mother to nurture my being, But I was ungrateful of her rearing.”
Nature gave us all what we needed. The air we breathed, the food we eat, the clothes that we wear. But
what happened to us? We can’t see what the nature is giving us and we didn’t even appreciate it.

Nature’s revenge is now hitting on us and at this present days we’re lacking on resources of what we
need. Nature is now making us suffer.
