Tips to facilitate a
good Crew discussion:
• Review Crew Guide before Crew
• Assign Building Blocks to lead part of the

• Ask open-ended questions to encourage full

• Utilize the alternate questions to help to push
conversations further along
• Avoid doing all the talking! A good guideline

Intercession is when you stand in the gap for
someone else in prayer. Intercessory prayer is
allowing the needs of others to take preference
How to pray
over your personal needs. As crew leaders, we
are called to pray for the people in our lives.

Intercession Responds Urgently — Luke 11:5

When we intercede for one another, we should do

so with a sense of urgency. This cannot wait. This is
urgent. We need our brothers. We need our sisters.

Intercession Requires Identification — John 11:33-37

When you pray for someone, you want to identify

with their pain. Don’t just identify it, but feel the
agony. This is what Jesus did. He didn’t just go

around performing miracles. He stopped and
identified with people’s pain.

Intercession Recognizes Impotence —

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
42

43
INTER-
When we pray for others, we must pray knowing
that we can’t solve their problem. The more aware I
become of my inability, the more desperate I become
for God’s great ability. Don’t be afraid of what you
don’t have—stand in faith for what you do have!

Intercession Resounds Impudence — Luke 11:5-10

STAYING POWER
Leading a Crew, you not only need starting power but
staying power.

MAKE A COMMITMENT
Making a commitment daily makes our choices simple. If
we commit to staying fit, the choice to work out becomes
an automatic yes. It’s the same for leading Crew. We get to
recommit to community daily. When we commit, we won’t
quit.

FIND TIME FOR REFRESHING
Even marathon runners pause to refuel during a race. In
order for us to pour out, we must be refreshed by the one
who restores our soul, Jesus. Let’s be leaders who make
time to be in the presence of Jesus daily.
46

47
COMMUNICATE BEFORE YOU QUIT
When you leave, you have a gap to fill. At VOUS, we aren’t
leaders that give up, but leaders that build up.

REPEAT WHEN NECESSARY

THANK
Leaders are self-aware. Check in with yourself daily and
take ownership of whether you need to recommit, refresh, or
communicate.

As James Clear says it, “You get what you repeat.”

Thank you for signing up to lead, your leadership is
