environments!"
GOAL
DIVE INTO THE FASCINATING WORLD OF BIOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION ON YOUR ZOO VISIT!
YOUR ǪUEST IS TO FIND THE ANIMALS LISTED BELOW, LEARN ABOUT THEIR
TAXONOMICAL RANKS, AND UNDERSTAND HOW THEY ARE GROUPED BASED ON THEIR
CLASSIFICATION. ARE YOU PREPARED TO BECOME A TAXONOMY DETECTIVE?

SUCCESS CRITERIA
Identify Different Habitats: Recognize and name at least three different types of habitats within Ragunan
Zoo (e.g., tropical rainforest, savannah, wetlands) and describe the key characteristics that define each
habitat.

Understand Animal Adaptations: Explain how at least five animals have adapted to their
environments physically or behaviorally. This includes how specific adaptations help animals survive,
find food, and protect themselves.

Conservation Awareness: Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of habitat conservation by

identifying at least two threats to wildlife habitats and discussing how Ragunan Zoo contributes to
conservation efforts.

ASSIGNMENT

Observe the Habitat:

For each animal, carefully observe the elements in their habitat that mimic their natural
environment.
Take notes on:
- Types of plants and terrain
- Water sources (if any)
- Any special features (e.g., shade areas, rocks, or climbing structures)

Identify Adaptations:
Structural Adaptations: Look for any physical characteristics of the animal that
help it survive in its environment. This could be body shape, color, fur, beaks, feet,
etc.

Behavioral Adaptations: Observe the animal's actions. How does it interact with its
habitat and other animals? Does any specific behaviors seem to be
adaptations to its environment?

Capture the Moment: Once you've found an animal and completed your
observations, take a picture of it. Try to capture both the animal and elements of its
habitat in your photo.

Remember:
Stay on the designated paths and respect all zoo rules.
Do not attempt to feed, touch, or disturb the animals.
Be patient and quiet while observing the animals; not all may be active or visible
