Methodology

Design:
This study employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods, utilizing the
descriptive method to explore the behavioral outcomes of grade seven students at the Cebu
Institute of Technology – University under peer influence. It is qualitative as it aims to
investigate behavioral outcomes influenced by peers, and quantitative due to the study's
administration through a survey.

Research Environment:
The study will take place in the classrooms of grade seven students at the Cebu Institute
of Technology – University, a private, non-sectarian academic institution established in 1946.
Renowned for its academic excellence, the university offers basic and higher education and has a
reputation for producing topnotchers and first placers.

Sampling Method:
The sampling method used by the researchers involves employing Slovin’s Formula, with
a margin of error set to 5 percent, as demonstrated by the following:
N
n= 2
1+(N e )
“n” is the result given to the researchers by Slovin’s Formula while “N” represents the
population size. “e” denotes the margin of error of the study. From there, researchers substitute
them with their values.
280
n= 2
1+280 ( 0.05 )
280
n=
1+0.7
280
n=
1.7
n=164.706∨165
Therefore, the number of respondents the researchers will survey for their study rounds
off to 165. Using this value, they will employ random sampling across all grade seven sections,
using the wheel of names to achieve proper randomization of the respondents.
