RELEVANCE OF CRITICAL THINKING

1. READING: As a critical thinker you must determine the central claim or purpose of text
(it’s thesis) and also must make some judgment about the context and evaluation.
2. WRITING: As a critical thinker, do not read looking only for information instead read to
determine ways of thinking about the subject of matter and your writing needs to show
your interpretation of your evidence, how you have used the information to demonstrate
your understanding and your subsequent position.
3. DECISION MAKING: As a critical thinker when taking a decision you must weigh the
issue at hand and also you must not only look at your own interest but instead also look at
it from different perspectives before you draw conclusions.
4. DAILY INTERACTING WITH PEOPLE: By practicing critical thinking, we are
allowing ourselves not only to solve problems but also to come up with new and creative
ideas. As a critical thinker you must accept the ideas of people, weigh, analyze and adjust
them accordingly.
