Her Melody

Character Analysis
___

Dsmp! Alice

Backstory

So far, nothing has been revealed about her backstory other than “she was raised by
strategizers.” She is also known to be a great friend of Techno’s, which begs the questions…

When did they meet?

Where did they meet?
How did they meet?
Well she had never met Phil, Wilbur, or Tommy, all who were accomplices of Technoblade.
By deduction, she would’ve had to have met him in a time where Technoblade was by
himself long enough for the two to become inseparable.

Character Overview

Chekhov’s Archetypes

→Alice would be known as a major “head” archetype.

→She leads with her thoughts and knowledge about the situation. She takes in
and processes the information, how it can be valuable, why she obtained it, and if it
connects to any other prior knowledge.

→This does not make her emotionless

Alignment Chart

Alice is chaotic neutral.

→ Chaos implies freedom, adaptability, and flexibility. On the downside,
chaos can include recklessness, resentment toward lawful authority, arbitrary actions, and
irresponsibility. Those who promote chaotic behavior say that only unfettered personal
freedom allows people to express themselves fully and lets society benefit from the potential
that its individuals have within them.

→ Neutral people with respect towards good and evil have compunctions
against killing the innocent but lack the commitment to make sacrifices to protect or help
others. Neutral people are committed to others by personal relationships.

→ Chaotic Neutral is an individualist who follows their own heart and

generally shirks rules and traditions. Although chaotic neutral characters promote the ideals
of freedom, it is their own freedom that comes first; good and evil come second to their need
to be free.

Personal Beliefs

→She believes information is the most powerful weapon. But for a book to be useful,
you have to be able to read it.

→She also believes knowing what your morals are is very important. Knowing what
you stand for keeps you from confusing yourself. It makes your goals clear and your
intentions clear with others.

→She believes in mutual treatment. For one to be treated with respect, they have to
treat others with respect. You deserve what you give.

→She doesn’t believe in governments or monarchies. Having a being whose words

are more important than another's hinders the ability to follow one’s morals. It also opens the
opportunity for greed.

Morals

Morals are how you decide if others are good or bad in your perspective. Normally, you
would follow them yourself. Her views on someone increase or decrease depending on how
they act according to her morals.
Example of decrease: Fundy tried to steal Puffy and Niki’s flower shop, despite the kindness
they’ve shown him. She dislikes him more because of this.

Example of increase: Phil treats her with kindness because she’s shown him kindness. She
likes him more because of this.

❖ Treat others how they’ve treated you

❖ Keep promises
❖ Don’t act in rage
❖ Repay favors
❖ Help those who have treated you kindly
❖ Greet others with the benefit of the doubt
❖ Mind your business unless invited to act OR if there is clear injustice
➢ Got involved with the discs because she promised Tommy to get them back.
❖ Don’t act as though you are more important than another individual

Values

Values are characteristics and behaviors that you follow yourself to guide you in the desired
direction. You wouldn’t expect others to follow your values because they are what you find
most important when making decisions for yourself.

Example: Alice doesn’t value honesty since the truth can be twisted easily whereas Ranboo
does value honesty and telling everyone the truth. He feels guilty for lying while Alice
wouldn’t.

❖ Loyalty
❖ Courage
➢ Not to be confused with bravery, which is fighting something difficult with
NO fear. Courage is fighting something difficult despite the fear. Fear is
necessary.
❖ Independence
❖ Respect
❖ Responsibility
❖ Intelligence
❖ Justice
❖ Security
❖ Compassion
❖ Diligence
❖ Equal treatment
Fatal Flaw

Her fatal flaw is Personalized Loyalty.

She is intensely loyal to Technoblade and only Technoblade to the point where it can
be used against her by others or even by herself.

Reasons: Currently Unknown

-Further Explanation

She is unconditionally loyal to Technoblade. No matter what he does, did, or plans to

do, she will always support him. It doesn’t matter what other loyalties she has, her loyalty to
Techno trumps the rest.

-Why is this a weakness?

It can cause self-conflict since her values include loyalty, returning favors, and treating others
how they’ve treated her (assuming kindly). It can turn her allies against her since
Technoblade is normally against everyone.

She’ll ignore all values if a friend hurts Techno. She will act in revenge.

People can use it against her and threaten Techno to get something from her.

Fatal Fear

A fatal fear is, what I like to imagine, the cause of a fatal flaw.

Alice’s fatal fear is being alone.

-Further explained

Alice is afraid of being alone. She doesn’t want to succeed alone. She doesn’t want to
fail alone. (she’s said to dream that she won’t join him because he succeeds alone and there’s
no fun in that.)

-How does this cause her flaw?

She is so intensely afraid of being alone, that she clings to Technoblade. Not because
she hopes he will stay because of it, but because then she can always follow him. She will
always side with him, not only because they’re friends but because if she isn’t siding with
him, then she’s alone. She would rather fight with him than watch him fight by herself.

Instead of relying on multiple loyalties, she focuses on only one. That way, it's more
reliable that she won’t be betrayed. Technoblade is the only one she will ever truly trust
because of this.

Her use of logic

Dsmp!Alice is always observing and collecting information. She watches how people
talk to each other, talk about each other, how they react when receiving information, or giving
information.

She keeps it to herself for a while and connects it to any information that might also
be involved. She decides how useful it is and deducts conclusions about it.

When she acts and utilizes her information, she treats it as a game of chess. She lets
the other player go first, to determine how aggressive the game will be. She takes note of
how they act while making their move as well.

She also applies systematic strategies for her actions as well, such as game theory or
greek ideals.

Every action she takes is well thought out and planned. Even the level of force used is
carefully planned.

Extra Notes:

Tommy’s betrayal made her conscious of her friends and new people. She doesn’t worry
about Technoblade...but Phil, Ranboo...everyone else.

Her Goal

Her goal is to acquire knowledge. She strives to know why people do things, in what
ways they do them, and how they decide to do them. She likes being able to read others so
she will always know what to expect and she’ll never be unsure about an alliance or an
enemy.

Greek Parallels
Here’s the complete explanation of Alice’s Hero parallel and why.

If you guessed Achilles…

Ding Ding Ding!
You were correct!

Although Achilles was a prideful and power hungry douche, he was also quick thinking,
cunning, and very loyal.

To his enemies, he seemed immortal. He wasn’t, as we are all aware. His heel was his
weakness BUT it can also be seen as what keeps him human. It was a reminder of his
mortality.

Technoblade could be seen as a weakness or as what keeps Alice grounded, human, mortal.

The second parallel between them is a bit more complicated.

I see Dream as the King of Scyros, Lycomedes. He was the owner of the land that Theseus
fled to after he was exiled. In some stories, he’s the reason Theseus died.
But Lycomedes also concealed and protected Achilles from war. He didn’t like Achilles, but
he protected him. Eventually Achilles was found out, but that was inevitable.

Dream would also protect Alice in battle, help her get away, assist her by looking like he was
just fighting chaotically.

So, those are the two parallels between Alice and Achilles
