The Importance Of A Development As Helpful As Printing

A development as helpful as printing, in an Europe of expanding flourishing, promptly finds new

clients. The primary Italian press is established in 1464, at the Benedictine town of Subiaco in the
ecclesiastical states. Switzerland has a press in the next year. Printing starts in Venice, Paris and
Utrecht in 1470, in Spain and Hungary in 1473, in Bruges in 1474 (on a press claimed by Caxton, who
moves it to London in 1476), in Sweden in 1483. Before the century s over the art is settled in every
European kingdom aside from Russia.
Amid the early decades, German printing prevails. A bigger number of books are distributed in
Germany than anyplace else (by 1500 there are printers in around sixty German towns); German
printers convey the art mysteries abroad; and outside printers come to Germany to study as
understudies. The soonest typography is accordingly operating at a profit letter style of contemporary
German original copies. Yet, before the century s over the most popular and persuasive printing is
being done in Italy, with a relating change in appearance. From the 1470s, when Nicolas Jenson sets
up a press there, Venice turns into a city known for the nature of its printing. Its overwhelming nature
in the field is solidly settled before the century s over through the productions of Aldus Manutius.
These Venetian printers create sort confronts more open and exquisite than the German dark letter
custom, getting them from the scripts of the Italian humanists. In doing

Overcoming Fears In The Outsiders By S. E. Hinton

Overcoming Fears I killed him, he said slowly. I killed that boy (Hinton 56). In the book The
Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, they talk about a boy named Johnny that killed a boy, and the growth of a
child named Ponyboy. Johhnny Cade has many names. To live on the rundown section of Tulsa,
Oklahoma, in the 1960 s you are not expected to be wealthy or to have an emotional attachment to
things. That is what the Greaser s were; they jumped, stole, and went to jail. People would never
expect them to be educated or that somebody loves them. The Greasers were all there for each other,
they loved one another like family. This boy, his family is the gang. From the backgrounds that Johnny

who he is. Suspicious, damaged, and a hero are all labels to describe Johnny Cade. Suspicious is a
word that describes Johnny very well. He had a nervous, suspicious look in his eyes, and that beating
from the Socs didn t help matters. (Hinton 31) The Socs jumped Johnny and ever since the incident he
was always looking around and scared that, he was going to be in that situation again. It was killing
Johnny. He had never been a coward. He was a good man in a rumble. He stuck up for the gang and
kept his mouth shut around the cops. But after the night of the beating, Johnny was jumpier than ever.
I didn t think he d get over it. Johnny never walked by himself after that. And

Differences Of American Identity

The identity of a nation is a summation of all its citizen s. An identity cannot be determined by
political leaders, but rather is a reflection of how leaders are able to create unity within all people.
American identity reflects what it means to be American; the positive and negative, and everything in
between. Throughout the course of United States history, Americans have constantly held a unique
identity in political, social, economic, and cultural affairs. This identity however is dramatically
affected by these affairs and can be altered as time and history progress. Nowhere in history does
American identity remain stagnant; some changes are more drastic than others. One of the most
radical contrasts in American identity seen throughout history is the difference between the nationalist,
patriot identity seen among Americans upon independence from the crown in 1783; and the
controversial division seen within the nation following the Compromise of 1877. The United States
went from being a young, and hungry powerhouse, to a nation at war with itself all as a result of
national identity.
In a political sense, it is very clear as to why the nation under went such a radical change in national
identity. Following freedom from Great Britain, American s had a strong sense of motivation and
hunger to create a political system that treated its citizens fairly, unlike the crown. American s were
proud of their new national identity, and that they no longer had to identify under the

We Are Becoming More Comfortable With Many Kinds Of Danger

Avalanche Gently, I open my tired eyes to the bright morning lights shining through the cracks of my
aging tent. Stretching my awfully sore, cramping legs under my snowsuit, I take in a big breath of the
mountain air. Christopher, Michael are you ready to go yet? Get out of your tents! Rachel hollers from
her tent. Alright, Michael yells bitterly from behind me. Smiling, I carefully unzip my cramped tent
and gaze in awe at my perfectly stunning snowy mountain view. Small, white flakes are falling from
the light gray sky, working together to make yet another layer of untouched snow. Down below are
treacherous slopes, steep cliffs, and slippery patches of ice that used to terrify me but don t anymore.

a few days ago. Be careful, stick together, and consider calling a guide to help you out. Wide eyed I

Michael. Walking up the snowy path I think about the man s wise words and realize my feelings are

Testicular Cancer Research Paper

Testicular Cancer Testicular cancer is a cancer that only occurs on men. This cancer forms in the
testicles, or testes, of a male. The testicles are positioned inside of the scrotum which is next to the
penis and looks like a bag of skin. The purpose of the testicles is to produce sperm and they contain
sex hormones. Reproductive bodies called germ cells develop into sperm through a process of cellular
division called meiosis (4). Normally cell division is regulated but in testicular cancer the germ cells
begin to divide uncontrollably and, instead of producing functional sperm, the germ cells create copies
of themselves making them cancerous cells. This kind of out of control division may happen to any
type of cell in the testicle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are numerous ways to treat it since there are different types of testicular cancers and different
stages. One treatment can be surgery. There are two different surgical procedures, one is to remove the
testicle and the other to remove a lymph node (2). Removing the testicle is the most common
treatment because it can be done on merely all types of testicular cancer and in different stages. The
procedure to remove the testicle is done by having the surgeon makes an incision in your groin and
extracts the entire testicle through the opening (2). The patient also has the option to have a prosthetic
testicle implanted to replace the one the surgeon took out. However, having only one testicle does not
impair the patients sexual potency or fertility. There is a brief decrease of sperm production but that is
only temporary (5). The surgery in which the lymph node is removed is done by making an incision
on the abdomen. This surgery is more dangerous due to all the nerves surrounding the lymph nodes. If
the surgeon accidentally damages a can be difficult for the patient to have an ejaculation, but they can
still have an erection (2). After the surgery the patient will most likely need to schedule for another
appointment to check on the progress. These follow up appointments consist of blood tests, CT scans
and periodic x rays in order to check that the

The First Form Of Writing

All these years we have given credit to Europeans for contributions to the world but in reality the ones
who contributed to world developments were the Africans. we did not give them credit because we
saw them as a undeveloped continent that couldn t have contributed to the world. Africans contributed
lasting contributions to the world through their innovations with tools. Many of these tool are
academics, architecture ,astronomy, medicine, and agriculture. African contribution to the world of
academics was writing. One of the types of writing was hieroglyphics. Hieroglyphics was the first
form of writing in Africa. Many of the African works were done by oral storytelling traditions. The
form of writing of hieroglyphics has become modern with time. The Britannica encyclopedia states
that the oral and written story telling have been developing parallel and have influenced each other.
this is saying that the the oral stories and the written have been developing with time and has been
changing. Another African contribution to the world is math. I learned that the modern high school
level concepts in math were first developed in Africa. In Arica the first counting method was done.

ago Egyptians scripted textbook in math containing division and multiplication of fractions, geometric

Comparing Kessler s Jack And The Beanstalk

Underneath the rambunctiousness of a child s behavior, signs of a more serious condition are often
missed. The symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are exceedingly similar. Both lack
concentration and an ability to prioritize and have an abundance of spontaneity and energy. This
condition was only given its name within the last couple of hundred years, but signs of this disorder
are present in children in fairytales long before ADHD was publicly discussed. One of these being
Jack and the Beanstalk, where Jack exemplifies many signs of this disorder, especially being easily

Simple tasks are easily forgotten by hyperactive kids, creating a lot of tension between kids and
parents, a pattern that follows through with Jack and his mother ( Kessler np). A common trait in
children with ADHD is forgetfulness a distractibility ( Kessler np). This could prove why when Jack
left to sell the cow he quickly forgot what his mother wanted in exchange for the cow and was to
distracted by the offer of magic beans to give his mother s wishes another thought. At the man s first
offer of normal beans, Jack was very smart and denied the offer, but when the man threw in the word
magic Jack immediately responds, Really? said Jack. You don t say so (Grimm np). One factor in the
mother s anger is how naive Jack is. To be fair, Jack s mother should of had the sense not to give her
son the task of selling their best cow for money, but you can understand the anger she feels when her
son comes home with supposed magic beans instead of the much needed money. But the anger is
easily forgotten when the beans begin to bring her fortune as well. Instead of shaming Jack for being
foolish enough to trade the best cow for beans, she begins enjoy reaping the benefits of his thievery.
Mimesis is also present for single mothers, or just mothers in general, raising a child with ADHD. As
they read, they can relate to the mother s annoyance in Jack s behavior and the troubling reality of
learning how to deal with the many symptoms that come with the disorder. Parenting on its own is a
difficult task, but to include the struggle of forgetfulness, distractibility, and hyperactivity adds a new
level of frustration and struggles in every day activities for both the child and the

Oliver Twist was written by Charles Dickens. He was born on February 7th 1812in Landport which is
situated in Portsmouth, England. He worked in a blacking factory where shoe polish is produced and
Dickens job was to paste labels to the bottles of polish. The working conditions then were dreadfully

Power Of The Druids

The Power of the Druids In the Irish religion called druidism, the druids were extremely powerful, so
powerful it seems that they even had to name the religion based upon these men and women of such
high rank. Often called wizards, their powers were virtually limitless. Ranging from divination to
creating potions to chanting spells, the druids were respected and, most likely, feared. Other than the
magical abilities the druids possessed, they were also the exclusive possessors of whatever learning
was then known (Joyce 44), meaning that they possessed all knowledge. Thus, they had even more
power over the people because they were relied upon for information. Concerning their magic, the
druids used it under many different circumstances and their interference greatly affected the outcome
of a story. It is helpful to use and analyze specific examples of druids in stories to understand the
mystical ways they wield their magic. In the story entitled Lord and Lady of the Wheel: the Careers of
Mog Roith and Tlachtga , the vastness of a druid s power is well represented. Though known as a
druid of wisdom and knowledge (Matthews 189), these are not the druidic traits of Mog Roith
developed in the myth. In the first place, Mog Roith does not simply appear out of thin air or without
any purpose, but he is called upon by King Fiacha of Munster to aid in the battle against Cormac mac
Art. The King is currently on the verge of losing the war and he needs the help of a druid, which

some sort of sustainability in their daily lives. The social housing policy has been round for a
numerous amount of years and has changed over time with different political parties being part of it.
National is a neoliberal party but also a social democratic. Since National has come into government.
There has been a significant amount of change which has had negative and positive effects on citizens
and communities in Aotearoa and the factors contributing to the impacts of this policy are social,
economic and environmental impacts.

Social factors contributing to this policy are that National has made it possible for registered
community housing providers to access the same income related housing subsides as housing New
Zealand which is another social housing company, which means tenants who need social housing will
be able to access discounted rents (Hamilton, 2014). This will have a positive impact on citizens in

Alfred Hitchcock Lifeboat Women

In the mid twentieth century, America was always seen as a role model to other countries due to their
great economy and social contract. However, during the Second World War Americans weren t
completely aware of the actual incompleteness of the social contract. In Alfred Hitchcock s Lifeboat,
this imperfectness of the contract became aware as the characters explored many tensions regarding
gender, race, and morals. These interactions foreshadow upcoming changes in America such as the
New Woman and African American s fight for rights, and it also hints at the decision of type of
government America should have in the future. World War II was a major turning point for women

like a servant. He represents the segregation that is happening with African Americans during the war.
For example, when asked if he wanted to vote on what happens to the prisoner of war Joe replies, Do I
get to vote too? I guess I d rather stay out of this, hinting at the reality that he wouldn t be able to vote
if it wasn t for the certain circumstances. Joe s character within the group shows the audience that
even when coming together to achieve the same goals, he is still treated like a servant or entertainer,
which challenges the current social contract. Likewise, African Americans fighting in the war are
going through the same situation. Even when they are denied protections and rights at home, they
fight alongside whites for the same goal: democracy (Cochran Lecture 3/16/17). The movie does a
good job at showing the audience the imperfectness of the social contract this way, and with the

in the past with The New York Classical Players . The lead violinist was David Southorn who is the
second most well trained person in this group. Danbi Um, the second violinist, is an Israeli violinist
who mostly does solo work but she also is an extremely well experienced violinist. She has performed
in both America and Israel doing shows in concert halls as well as on local television. The third, and
most experienced violinist is Wei Yang Andy Lin. He is a Taiwanese violinist who has been the

Reaction Paper Of El Presidente

El Presidente is a biopic film directed and written by Mark Meily. The film follows the life of the
Philippines first president, General Emilio Aguinaldo. It is based on the book written by Emilio
Aguinaldo, Memoirs of a Revolution. The movie starts in 1901 with Agunaldo s capture by
Kapampangan US forces under Fuston s command. Then, it flashes back to Aguinaldo s younger
years. The flashback shows Aguinaldo collecting tax along with his friend Candido Tirona; the two
meets an old woman who gave them perplexing prophecies. The old woman said that Aguinaldo will
reign in one point in his life and will marry twice. On the other hand, the woman said that Tirona will
have his life end abruptly from a fatal shot. After ten years, Aguinaldo is ... Show more content on

The set, costume, and props were visually pleasing and apt for the historical mood of the movie. Also,
familiar faces were seen some of them are; ER Estregan, with the main role; Christopher de Leon,
Cesar Montano, and Nora Aunor. Despite the massive effort used to present this period film, somehow
it failed to deliver a message to the viewers. El Presidente centers on controversial figure in the
Philippine history, Emilio Aguinaldo. There are two different sentiments of the Filipinos when he is
the topic of discussion. He is either seen as a hero or an indecisive person, also known as a balimbing.
The storytelling was not tight; it lingered too long on scenes that are not that essential example are the
battle scenes. With their two hours running time, they could have had added more relevant historical
events. The narrative could have been effective if the story gave more depth to the character, rather
than the almost paralyzed expression of the actor. Speaking of the actor, I believe that ER Estregan
failed to effectively portray the character. Aside from the age discrepancy wherein they could have had
a younger actor for the role, his acting was repetitive, and boring at times. Could it have been that the
production was enticed in getting actors with big names rather than judging by their acting

Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man

Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is an excellent novel, written by James Joyce, about the life of
Stephen Dedalus and how he overcame the barriers of his family and his religion to pursue his life as a
writer. Drawing on details based on his own early life, Joyce provides us with insight into how his
own imagination worked (Gose, 267). Extensive use of stream of consciousness, which represent the
character s inner thoughts and perceptions, and like human thoughts jumping from one thought to the
next, oftentimes make Portrait a hard reading. This is however intentional as Joyce wants his readers
to be obliged to re create his own space in the inner universe of the text, to participate in a sort of
intransitive discourse, one that bears no fixed meaning in relation to external reality which tends, in
fact, to destroy referentiality and with it, the readers sense of balance (Sabatini, 95). Joyce wants his
readers to experience Stephen s inner thoughts starting from a young age, and to see the world from
his perspective. Once upon a time and a very good time it was there was a moocow coming along the
road and this moocow that was coming down along the road met a nicens little boy named baby
tuckoo.... (Joyce, 5). Joyce s Portrait, his introduction to Stephen, his introduction to himself begins
with a story, expressing just how important art is in Joyce s life, and in a way, in Stephen s life.
Stephen is just a small boy then to whom his father is reading a children s

Peak Book Quotes

The Courageous Climbers

In the novel Peak by Roland Smith the main theme is courage. Peak is about a fourteen year old boy
named Peak Marcello, after moving from Wisconsin to New York City, Peak climbs a tall skyscraper
and gets into trouble. Instead of going to jail he has to go live with his father, Josh in Thailand. Josh is
a very successful businessman and famous mountaineer/ rock rat. (Pg. 19) Josh surprises Peak and he
finds out that he is going to climbing Mount Everest. Throughout the novel, Peak encounters many
different characters. A plentiful amount of these characters have a lot of courage. Some of these
courageous characters are Kitar, Peak, and Teri, for many reasons that you will find out.
The first person in the novel Peak who demonstrated a great deal of courage was Sun Jo s father,
Kitar. Sun Jo is a Nepalese boy, only six days older than Peak, who climbs the mountain with Peak.
He is Peak s competitor and friend. Zopa who is an retired sherpa who is described with this quote. If

The Effect Of Obedience During The Holocaust

The Effects of Obedience Often, researchers wonder why obedience has such a strong effect. Some
researchers say that obedience is a conscious thing; however, some researchers also say that obedience
comes from the fear of authority figures. What exactly does obedience and authority mean? Obedience
is compliance with that which is required by authority; subjection to rightful restraint or control.
(Obedience, 2003) Authority is a legal or rightful power; a right to command or to act; power
exercised buy a person in virtue of his office or trust; dominion; jurisdiction; authorization. (Authority,
2003)
Stanley Milgram, a psychologist at Yale University, and other members of the community also
questioned the nature of obedience. Milgram reflected back to the 1933 events of the Holocaust.
Milgram began to question the intentions of the soldiers serving under Eichmann. Why would all
those German soldiers go along with kill millions of innocent Jews, slaves, homosexuals, children,
and gypsies? Were the soldiers just following the orders of Adolf Eichmann, leader of the German
Army? Milgram was interested in doing the obedience to authority figures study because he
questioned if Adolf s men were just following his orders, and this lead to killing of eleven million
innocent victims during the time period of the Holocaust. Milgram became enthusiastic in researching
the limit that the average person would go to obey orders from their authority figures, even if that

The Process Of Ancient Egyptian Embalming

Ancient Egyptian embalming was a very sacred process performed by experienced embalmers.
Ancient Egyptians used to bury the deceased underground, but because of that they decayed faster in a
coffin when they aren t exposed to the hot sand of the desert. That is how they developed the process
of embalming to preserve the bodies. The process begins where the body is taken into an ibu , a tent
also known as the place of purification . That is where the embalmers wash the body in palm wine and
rinse it off with water from the Nile. The next step is when one of the men makes a small cut in the
left side of the body and removes the liver, lungs, stomach and also intestines. It is important to
remove these internal organs because they are one of the fastest to decompose. These internal organs
are then washed and packed in natron, a mineral salt that contains hydrated sodium carbonate. The
natron will dry out the organs. The heart is not taken out because Egyptians believed that the heart was
the center of intelligence and feeling and the body will need it in the afterlife. Then, a long hook is
inserted into the nose to smash the brain and pull it out the same way. The body will now be covered
and stuffed with natron to dry it out. All of the rags and fluids that were used in the process are buried
with the body. After forty more days, the body is then washed again and covered in oils to keep the
skin elastic. The organs that are dehydrated are wrapped in linen then returned to

Yellow-Legged Frog Project

Overall for this change project, we have learned that the population of frogs has been decreasing all
over the world. There are many factors that decrease their population like agriculture, invasive
species, and the population of humans. Specifically, in California, only 40% of the historical sites in
the Northwest area have Foothill Yellow Legged Frogs, and this has the highest percentage out of all
of California. These frogs are indicators for the environment, meaning they can determine if the area
around them has changed dramatically due to their permeable skin. For our service project, we
removed invasive plants like the Himalayan Blackberries and dug creek beds for the frogs. From this,
we were able to improve the levelness of the area ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chat was very helpful and we were able to communicate outside of school as well as have
meetings online.

Something that we learned as a group was that cooperation helps a lot. Certain tasks were
accomplished faster and this showed us that one person does not have to do the entire project on their
own. Procrastination is also detrimental, causing cramming on days before deadlines. This can be
stressful and force meetings to be postponed. Our group has also learned to follow a set schedule.
Following a schedule allows us to complete all of our work on time.

Some recommendations that we have to help the Foothill Yellow Legged Frogs incorporates the
government. The government is able to help by putting these amphibians on the endangered list and
providing laws to protect them. Putting restrictions on areas where these frogs live to protect their
population can help these frogs grow, and those who disturb their population should be fined. Another
way these frogs can be helped is to promote volunteering for nonprofit organizations such as Tule
Ponds. By promoting volunteering, habitats can be restored by acts such as clearing out invasive
species, like we did during our service project. Lastly, regulating trade can significantly help while
protecting these frogs. This prevents invasive species from taking over the native ones and will allow
habitats to grow peacefully. By reducing the number of invasive plants in the area, this can protect the
habitats of these frogs as well as other

Robert Witt and the Pacific Theatre

In the Pacific Theatre during World War II, the Japanese created a sneak invasion against the United
States, which blindsided and obliterated one third of the US army. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the
US military decided to counter attack at the island of Guadalcanal, making this battle a turning point
in the war. Many American soldiers lived in a world where their lives could be over in a matter of
seconds. Most of us are not able to comprehend the mental state of the soldiers during battle. In the
novel The Thin Red Line by James Jones, Private Robert Witt, the protagonist, experiences war for the
first time. Throughout the novel, he sees and does many things which drastically change him
emotionally and physically. The settings of the naval ship at sea, the island of Guadalcanal, and his
home in New Guinea have a different effect on the character development of Private Witt. First of all,
the experiences Witt receives on the naval ship, affects his character development. Witt never dreamt
of participating in a war to fight in a constant battle of life or death. In the past, Witt enlisted into the
US army with hopes of helping his village financially back in Melanesia. At the time, Witt was too
afraid and not mentally prepared for the experiences he would face. As a result Witt went AWOL
(Jones 107) and left for his home village in Melanesia. Three years later, he makes the choice of going
to back to the army, yet he is immediately placed into the war battlefront.

The Swarm of Paparazzi

Paparazzi Paparazzi are people that celebrities are always swarmed by and they can become too
aggressive to get that one perfect picture, but why? Paparazzi are photographers that go far beyond
what may be appropriate to others to get these photos, whether it is crashing a formal party, following
celebrities in a car, or even breaking into the home of the celebrities. Paparazzi can get a large amount
of money for these photos that they sell to tabloids that want these sometimes embarrassing and cruel
photos. Paparazzi can become too close for comfort and they should have laws and restrictions on how
far they can go to get the latest pictures and news because the celebrities have no privacy and due to
the past events within society. The intention of the paparazzi is to take the best photo that will sell for
the greatest amount of money. However these ordinary people still have to abide by the laws that the
rest of the world lives by, but unfortunately they never seem to follow these crucial and necessary
restrictions. The people within society never thought that paparazzi could get this bad to the point in
which celebrities were pressing charge, getting into full scale brawls, and breaking laws. The
paparazzi of the past never thought that the present day paparazzi would be so vicious. The paparazzi
care about sales above and beyond all other considerations (Howe 17). This is far beyond a true
statement, it s a fact.

Comparing a Chartered Public Accountant and a Chartered...

Accountant

Career Demand The public accountant provides a range of accounting and auditing services to
everyone from individual taxpayers to businesses. Accountants can even become more specialized and
become auditors and government accountants. Accounting is typically a 9 5 weekday job, as those are
the hours that most businesses operate. Some overtime is typically required if there is an audit or it is
tax season. The primary roles of a public accountant can be divided into three distinct jobs. The first
job, and the most commonly accomplished, is known as performing external audits of companies
(Public Accountant Job Description). Under Sarbanes Oxley, United States businesses must submit a
full audit of their company s annual budget sheets along with many other financial documents to an
external accountant who reviews the documents and certifies that the reports are accurate (Zhang,
2007). The second job that accountants have is offering tax services to the public (Public Accountant
Job Description). Often citizens prefer that an accountant complete their taxes annually, especially if
that person is self employed. The third job that accountants complete is consult services. Often
corporate and estate planning law firms willl hire accountants to assist in creating ideal wealth
management options for clients and ensure that those options are in agreement with current tax laws.

Democracy And The Age Of Information Abundance Essay

Democracy in the age of information abundance:

The impact of new technologies to our democratic political system

Introduction
Never before, in the history of time, has our ability to collaborate and communicate on a massive scale
been so achievable. (Papay Timby, 2014)
With the emergence of new technologies, there are more individuals that can have better access to
media and information. Experts believe that to some extent it strengthens democracy as there are more
numbers of individuals taking part in any democratic process including the increasing public
awareness to monitor political processes. Furthermore, it raises collaborations between the
government and the public in solving problems at different levels. Unfortunately, the abundance of
information has arguably created radical demand of transparency and potential excessive surveillance
that decelerate the government processes and decision making process as the public sector begin to be
too cautious and timid.
Before going too far, by new technologies, this essay focuses on new, computer and internet based
media technologies as the fact that they play an important role in widening and strengthening
information access that is significant to democracy (Barber, 2003). There are numbers of these types
of technologies including, but not limited to, social media, online surveys, voting and deliberative
polling, internet based focus groups, and online petitions (Keane, 2009). Their emergence is highly

Comparing Hamlet And Ophelia

Tainted Hearts
Insecure love is a love that sees no future. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, Prince of Denmark Ophelia and
Hamlet s love falls victim to their own insecurities and therefore drastically fails. The relationship that
ensues between Ophelia and Hamlet is complicated and questioned continuously in modern day
analysis of the play. Their relationship proves to be important to the story in many different ways,
including how it affects the characters as individuals throughout the play. Shakespeare s use of
character development, the effects of grief, and an overall theme of insecure love in their relationship
further contributes to the meaning of the play as a whole.

Not one character is confident enough to speak out against or even for their partner or loved ones,
resulting in their disastrous endings. The way Hamlet and Ophelia interact with each other is easily
connected to how they interact with their parents. Hamlet s relationship with his mother is extremely
complicated; almost as much as his relationship with Ophelia. Gertrude is physically harmed by her
son numerous times, and is often highly insulted as well. During their confrontation of Hamlet s
behaviour, Hamlet even states (Hamlet offends mom). This complete negligence for his mother s
feelings perfectly reflects in his relationship with Ophelia. When Ophelia confronts Hamlet of his
feelings not only does he physically harm her, but he also states (nunnery quote). This quote is a near
mirror image of the previous to his mother, emphasizing his contempt of the women surrounding him.
Hamlet refuses to speak any truth to the characters surrounding him; ultimately destroying them with
himself, taking his relationship with Ophelia down as well. Opposedly, Ophelia and Polonius
relationship is respectful in both ways, yet fragile too. Ophelia is completely compliant to her father
and is even willing to give up Hamlet to affiliate to his needs. Polonius treats Ophelia more as a pet
however than a daughter; either showing her off to the king and queen or baiting her for Hamlet. Both
Polonius and Laertes seem to value her virginity more than herself as a person. This argument can be
easily proven by (Two quotes from Polonius and Laertes about Ophelia staying a virgin). Since this
behaviour is so familiar to Ophelia, it is no wonder why she allows Hamlet to treat her the

Uruguayan Alchemy Uruguay is a secular nation, with a distinct separation between church and state.
As such, touring churches and cathedrals is not an integral part of Uruguayan tourism. Those with an
interest in mysticism, however, will not be disappointed. Introducing Francisco Piria Francisco Piria
was born in 1847 in Montevideo. During his childhood, his family sent him to Genoa, Italy to study
with his uncle, a Jesuit monk. It was in Italy that Piria developed an interest in the mystical arts of
alchemy and Kabbalah. After completing his studies, Piria returned to Montevideo and established
himself as a real estate auctioneer. Piria s Vision While living in Europe, Piria s visits to the French
Riviera created an image of the city he wished to create. His dream city was 62 miles east of
Montevideo. When he looked at the small mountains cascading down toward the sea, he purchased the

Eleanor and Amory hate each other after this realization, but the hatred has a good quality in that
Amory understands that he had loved himself in Eleanor, so now what he hated was only a mirror
(218). Choosing to emulate Eleanor s dementia proved to be a bad decision along the course of Amory
s search for himself. He sees his own defunct image in this mirror, and it frightens him.
It causes him to temporarily loathe himself as well as Eleanor, but it also teaches him that he needs to

Monsignor Darcy seems to be an odd choice for a role model for Amory since Amory continually

not only because his pagan talk is superficial, but also because Beatrice held the Monsignor in the

he does not know himself well enough to know whether or not he believes in God. Rather he means he

Evaluation Of Sme s Help Them Defend Their Network...

Abstract This project is a guide to which SME s can use to help them defend their network against
cyber criminals. It will cover all aspects of security that an SME should be using against the current
security threats that cyber criminals are using today. The guide will show how an SME can test their
networks security for functionality, so that they know everything is working as expected. Chapter 1:
Introduction This project is being undertaken to investigate and assess the mitigation techniques
required to secure the networks of Small to Medium Enterprises (SME s) against the major network
threats of today. Various steps need to be taken so that this project can achieve any results. The first
step to be taken is to research what an SME is and what an SME network entails. Next is to research
the current logical and physical network security technologies being used or those that are currently in
development. The key vulnerabilities that are found within SME networks are going to be reviewed
and possible mitigation techniques normally used to defend against these vulnerabilities will be
discussed. In order to achieve realistic results that can be used to advice SME s an experiment will be
undertaken to find out whether or not these mitigation techniques actually secure a SME type network
against key vulnerabilities such as those researched. In this process a typical SME network
environment will be created. A pen test will be undertaken on this test network, which

Symbolism In Raktakarabi

In Rabindranath Tagore s play, Raktakarabi (Red Oleanders, 1924), set in an imaginary town called
Yakshapuri ruled under capitalism, minorities are dehumanized and exploited into becoming a source
of gold digging machines by a brutal King whose ever growing obsession with wealth had turned him
despicable until salvation became apparent in the hands of a woman named Nandini. Nandini is the
protagonist and the King is the antagonist of the play. Yakshapuri in Hindu mythology is referred to as
the abode of the god of its hoard of treasure. In the play, the King symbolizes the oppressor of both
humans and nature by fear and power and Nandini symbolizes the nature that restores its equilibrium
by shaking everything into its righteous place by beauty, love and strong character. What s left in
between are the oppressed: the miners along with their families who are undoubtedly and hopelessly
stuck in a rollercoaster where their freedom is nowhere to be apparent. Tagore shows his concern over
the materialistic industry oriented mentality of men and the lust of controlling the resources of the
earth as well as the inhabitants by exploiting, estranging and circumscribing the underdogs.

exploitation of nature and oppression of the miners. Nandini s spontaneity and spirit of humanity
along with nature made such a strong impact on the people of Yakshapuri and the King who decides to
end the atrocity he had
