Introduction
A measure of central tendency (also known as a measure of center or central location)
is a summary measure that aims to summarize an entire collection of data with a single
number representing the middle or center of its distribution. It strives to provide an
accurate description of the distribution's whole data set. The three main measurements,
mean, median, and mode, can be used to determine the dataset's central tendency.
Each uses a different approach to calculate the center point. The optimal measure of
central tendency to use is determined by the type of data you have.

Statement of the problem

Central Tendency is defined as the number used to represent the center or middle of a
set of data values. To get the mean, sum all of the values and divide by the number of
observations in your dataset. To get the median, sort your data from smallest to largest,
then look for the data point with the same amount of values above and below it. To get
the mode, sort the values in your collection by numeric values or categories. Then,
identify the value that appears the most frequently. Find the mean, median, and mode
of the given set of data.
Implication
The mean is the dataset's average value. It can be calculated as the total of all the
values in the dataset divided by the number of values. In general, it is referred to as the
arithmetic mean. If all of the values in the dataset are the same, all geometric,
arithmetic, and harmonic mean values are the same. When there is variety in the data,
the mean value varies. The median is the middle value of a dataset when it is sorted in
ascending or descending order. When the dataset has an even number of values, the
median value can be calculated by taking the mean of the middle two values. It splits
the distribution in half (half of the observations are on either side of the median value).
The median value is the middle value in a distribution with an odd number of
observations. The mode represents the most common value in the dataset. Sometimes
the dataset has numerous modes, and other times it contains no modes at all.

Conclusion
Overall, measures of central tendency are useful for summarizing and interpreting data.
Mean, median, and mode offer a single, clearly understood representative value. The
type of measure to use is determined by the nature of the data and the existence of
outliers. It provides an accurate description of the complete data. It is the single most
typical/representative number from the obtained data.
