THE JUDICATURE ACT, No. 2 OF 1978

Order under Section 3

BY virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 3 of the Judicature Act, No. 2 of 1978, I, M.U.M. Ali Sabry,
Minister of Justice, in consultation with the Chief Justice and the President of the Court of Appeal, do by this
Order, amend the Schedule of the Order published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 1679/40 of November 10, 2010,
as amended from time to time, as follows:-

(i) by the substitution for the entry “1. Gampaha” appearing in Column II under the heading “District”
appearing against corresponding Judicial Zone of Gampaha under Column I and its corresponding entry
in Column IV under the heading of “Area of Jurisdiction” of the following entries respectively

“1. Gampaha The Judicial District of Gampaha shall comprise

the Judicial Division of Gampaha.”;

(ii) by the insertion, immediately after the entries relating to the Divisional Secretary’s Division of Attanagalla
appearing in Column IV under the heading “Area of Jurisdiction” appearing against corresponding Judicial
Division of Gampaha under Column III, appearing against corresponding Judicial District of Gampaha
under Column II and appearing against corresponding Judicial Zone of Gampaha under Column I of the
following:-
“2. Mahara The Judicial District of Mahara shall comprise
the Judicial Division of Mahara.”;

(iii) by the repeal of the word and figure “2. Mahara” appearing in Column III under the heading of “Division”
and appearing against corresponding Judicial District of Gampaha under Column II and appearing against
corresponding Judicial Zone of Gampaha under Column I and the substitution therefore of the word and
figure “1. Mahara”;

(iv) by the substitution for the entry “2. Gampaha” appearing in Column I under the heading “Zone” and its
corresponding entry in Column IV under the heading “Area of Jurisdiction” of the following entries
respectively :–

“2. Gampaha The Judicial Zone of Gampaha shall comprise

the Judicial Districts of Gampaha, Pugoda
Attanagalla and Mahara”;
