1.1 INTRODUCTION
The Integrated Ultrasound CX50 is an ultrasound solution
optimized for Philips Interventional Suite users. Integrated
Ultrasound delivers:
Allura Touch Screen Module (TSM) Integration: clinicians
can use the TSM (also known as Xper module) on the
bedside for remote operation of the CX50.
Monitor Integration: the ultrasound image is displayed on
one of the monitors in the CVX monitor panel.
Patient Data Integration: The Allura system automatically
pushes the patient data to the CX50 for easy workflow;
images can also be stored together in PACS.
The CX50 is located on a separate cart in order to easily
roll in and out of the suite and use for bedside scanning.
The CX-50 and the Allura Xper system use the CWIS protocol to
communicate via the network. Because the CX-50 is mobile and
can be shared in multiple Allura Xper rooms, the CWIS
communication must remain inside the room. If the CWIS
communication would enter the hospital network the CX-50 could
communicate with the wrong Allura Xper system. A firewall is
used to block the CWIS communication at the border line of the
Allura Xper room.
The ASA 5505 or ASA 5506-X is configured as a firewall. It is
connected to the hospital network and the network isolator inside
the Control Room Connection Box (CRCB). The power supply is Cisco ASA 5505
connected to the hospital mains.
If the initial release of the Allura Xper System was < Software release 7.x, special attention of the
following components is required:
If the mouse works on your laptop (so the mouse is not defect) and the US Tools menu is
displayed you know the network communication is also working.
The most likely cause is a missing license.
Check the license file on PkgPointingDevice
If the image is distorted (and this is the first time you connect the CX50 to this monitor) check if
the monitor is compatible (see chapter 1.2 Compatibility).
If the image is unsharp or interference is visible an adjustment of the VGA booster could solve
this problem (see Adjustments of Video Wall Connection Box).
The following CX50 requirements must be met in addition to the Allura requirements for RSN:
The Hospital Network Administrator must supply an IP address, Subnet Mask and Default
Gateway for the CX50.
The Hospital Network Administrator must allow the following port numbers on the RSN VPN
connection: 443, 5660, 9044 and 9903.
All Allura routers and firewalls must be configured to allow the CX50 to use the following port
numbers: 443, 5660, 9044 and 9903.
NOTE
Always involve the Regional RSN Contact for new RSN connections. The Regional RSN
Contact is trained to deal with connectivity scenarios, implementation and roll-out issues,
etc. The list of RSN Contacts can be found at:
http://pww.healthcare.philips.com/apps/c_dir/e1532501.nsf/pages/gcshelpdesk
Notice that the prompt changes after you have logged in: from Username: to dolphin> or CX-50
After you enable it the prompt changes again to: dolphin# or CX-50
So if you get an error message when typing the commands check the prompt.
Use next chapters to clean the configuration of the firewall (Fault finding):

NOTE
ASA 5506-X
3. Start communication program like PuTTY.
5. Connect the power supply cable to the hospital mains to turn on the firewall

The exposure pulses can be much shorter in the GS pulsed mode without loss of pulse definition, giving
sharper pictures recording moving phenomena, as in fluoroscopic appliances.
The switching electronics, consisting of IGBTs and Zener diodes, is embedded within the X-ray tube
housing.
The effect noticed is, that the breakdown of one of these components can cause the X-ray tube not to
switch off completely. A leakage current remains present which results in X-rays still being produced,
but not detected.
The primary function of the Grid Switch Supervisor box (GSS box), incorporated in the generator
cabinet, is to detect the presence of leakage during GS mode fluoroscopy and when detected, disable
the next GS-based fluoroscopy until the unit is reset.
Two phenomena can be measured to determine the leakage:
The anode current on the mAs bridge
Backscattered electrons at the “can” connection
3. Click SetupGSSService.msi.
NOTE
Before starting this procedure, make sure that a Grid Switch tube is used.
1. Make sure there are no obstacles in the X-ray beam. Move the table outside the beam.
NOTE
It is not necessary to cover the detector, as only a very small amount of X-rays will be
generated.
WARNING
Take all necessary precautions to protect yourself and others from radiation.
5. Select: Performance > Generator > (Channel Dependant, F/L) > Manual X-ray Generator Test,
F/L
8. Click Apply.
NOTE
NOTE
11. Make sure that the user interface shows 125 kV.
14. Disconnect the Grid Switch cable (coax cable) from the GSS box EH-100X-1202.
15. Connect the Grid Switch diagnostic tool to the Grid Switch cable.
NOTE
NOTE
22. Reconnect the Grid Switch cable to the GSS box EH-100X-1202.
Before starting this procedure, make sure that the Grid Switch Diagnostic Test
as described in chapter 4.3 is executed.
9. Click Connect.
