Drilling philosophy with portable machines

During the execution of avalanche protection works in 1985 in the Swiss mountains, a
problem arose.

There they had to carry out jobs, which were usually done with heavy crawler mounted
drill rigs.

The problem was solved. Today we have a great variety of components that allows us to
build 3 different sizes of machines in a modular system.

We have components weighting 40 50 kg for the lightest machine (Max. torque 1400
Nm) as well as components weighting 80 120 kg for the more powerful machine (max.
torque 5000 Nm).

Please do not forget that tools, drill rods and tubes can reach fast 1 ton weight and will raise
the weight of the machine as well.

This presupposes a decision of what kind of equipment you need and usually you have to
search for the right combination of hammer, rods and tubes for the machine.

Because portable anchor machines behave different as heavy crawler mounted drill rigs, we
suggest you use our tools and working procedure.

Possibilities with our machines:

Type of machine Powered with Feed force Application

SIG-Mounty 90 LL Air 7 kN / 6 bar Rock drilling
SIG-Mounty 90 H Hydraulic 12 kN Casing
SIG-Mounty 91 H Hydraulic 20 kN Casing
SIG-Mounty 92 H Hydraulikc 40 kN

The performance is sometimes extremely high by using optimised weight

components:

Hammer drilling 40 60 l/min 200 bar ca. 10-15 kW

Diamond core drilling 60 100 l/min 200 bar ca. 20-50 kW

Rock drilling with normal hammer o 50 mm
