Personal Statement

I would like to declare my intention to attend Clemson University for the 2024/2025
academic year. I'm applying for a Master of Arts degree in Communication.

To begin, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Publishing from Kwame Nkrumah

University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Which I received a Second Class Upper
Degree in Publishing in August 2020. With a GPA of 60.82%, this put me among the top
students at my university.

In 2019, I had the wonderful chance to intern in the Office of the President in Ghana,
where I was chosen to participate in an Educational forum, where I spoke to the country
about the fantastic ideas that the government was implementing to assist citizens live
better lives. This experience not only provided me with academic knowledge, but also with
the ability to adjust to a heterogeneous community.

As part of my studies, I was a member of the Student's Publishing Society, and every year
I attended the Annual Publishing Student Conference. One of my projects, "How to
Identify Fake News Published and Corporate Image as the Foundation for Corporate
Communication," received first place at my institution and was chosen to compete in the
Ghana inter-University competition of student projects.

Aside from my studies, I was a regular participant in campus events. As an Ambassador

for my institution and a teacher for first-year students, I honed my presenting and
interpersonal communication abilities. Furthermore, as a member of the Student Council, I
was in charge of organizing activities such as student competitions, concerts, and games.
I intend to put my organizing skills to use in the Clemson University student community by
hosting international evenings, games, and workshops. This, I feel, would provide every
student with a chance to learn more about various cultures, customs, and ways of life. In
the future, I intend to establish a network for young specialists and leaders to help them
locate like-minded individuals, share experiences, and solve various business difficulties.

My parents have always taught me to be honest and hardworking, and I try my best to
follow their instructions. I consider myself to be an active and driven person who can study
and work hard. I strive not to squander any of my time, thus I devote a lot of time to self-
education. Furthermore, I am involved in my city's social life. As a member of the
Ghanaian Youth Volunteer Society, I routinely participate in volunteer programs such as
visiting orphanages and boarding schools for disabled children to plan exciting activities
and games.

My purpose and leadership abilities are two of my other personal attributes. As a student, I
used to take part in a wide range of group projects. I was frequently a team leader in
charge of information collecting, role distribution, date coordination, and interpersonal
activities. Every time I led a project, our team produced only the best outcomes.
My desire to get a degree in communications became stronger over my studies and job
experience. During my second year of studies, I took a course in Communication
Research Methods taught by one of the best professors I have ever had. He has
extensive teaching and living experience in the United States, therefore he gave us really
practical moments from current American practice. His lectures piqued my interest in
communications, so I chose to concentrate on that during my studies and career.

I am currently employed for a marketing communications firm. I find this field to be really
intriguing and engaging, which has driven me even further to seek a Master's degree in
Communications.

After reading a summary of the program and the courses offered, I decided to attend
Clemson University. I found the training given to be really relevant to my career objectives.
Furthermore, visiting guest lectures and practical workshops would improve my
understanding of current media and communications.

During my studies at Clemson University, I will concentrate on Marketing and Brand

Communications, Strategic Corporate Communications, Brand, Digitals and Creatives,
and Brands International Management. I have a significant interest in these disciplines,
and my education and professional experience are strongly related to them. While writing
a dissertation, I wish to synthesize all of my knowledge from my diverse studies. In my
future dissertation, I plan to do a comparative examination of current Ghanaian and
African politics. I believe there will be several resources accessible to me to assist me in
conducting such study.
After studying in the United States, I intend to work in an international marketing or media
organization while also pursuing a PhD and building a network for young specialists, as I
said before.

Given all of the factors stated above, I can ensure you that as a Clemson University
student; I will exceed your expectations by bringing a high level of academic intellect,
enthusiasm, and creativity.
