2 A global perspective comes from two global organisations that have global
influence – the United Nations and the World Health Organization. This
perspective is that it is important that more women participate in sporting events
not only to promote gender equality to impact other areas such as the employment
sector (March, 2019), but also to inspire and encourage young girls to do more
sport to be healthier (Bray, 2019).

The national perspective of (name of country) is that sport is important and to show
this the country is hosting a global sporting event (Frank, 2019). However, traditionally
and culturally, sport is not seen as important, particularly for women whose role is seen
predominantly as the homemaker and to bring up children (Krow, 2019).
