Follow-me-home headlights
Activated by the driver for added safety and practicality
at night, the headlights remain lit for 30 seconds after
parking your car to illuminate your path to the front door.
Dusk sensor
The dusk sensor monitors light levels and automatically
switches on the headlights when the light is low.
Smart Entry & Start System
Instead of a conventional key, the Smart Entry & Start
System features a transmitter that allows you to unlock
the doors by pulling the handle and lock them again by
pressing a button. To start or stop the engine, simply
press the Start/Stop button. All you need to do is carry
the Smart Entry key in your pocket or handbag.

Stop & Start System
The Stop & Start System automatically stops the
engine when your vehicle is stationary and in neutral –
at a red light, for example, or in a similar situation.
This improves fuel efficiency and reduces exhaust gas
emissions. The engine is immediately restarted when
you press the clutch.
Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) seats
During an impact at lower speeds and particularly from
the rear, WIL seats and headrests cushion the head and
back. This reduces the risk of whiplash injuries.
Pre-tensioners and force limiters
Integral to the front 3-point ELR seat belts, pre-
tensioners and force limiters are designed to help
avoid injuries to the chest area.

Emergency Brake-light Signal (EBS)
In emergency braking situations, EBS flashes the
vehicle’s brake lights repeatedly to alert following traffic.
Active headrests
In a rear impact, the passenger’s lower back is pressed
hard against the seat. A built-in unit triggers the Active
headrests to move diagonally upward and forwards to
provide extra head support. This alleviates neck impact
and helps reduce the risk of whiplash.
Adjustable Speed Limiter (ASL)
This function is a control system that suppresses acceleration
above a vehicle speed (speed limit) pre-set by the driver.
Acting as a guide, it controls engine output so that the vehicle
speed does not exceed that of the pre-set speed limit while
the driver is pushing on the accelerator pedal. The pre-set
speed is shown on the combimeter display and will begin
flashing when the vehicle reaches this speed.
Glossary
ISOFIX seat fixing
Seats incorporate special anchor points, including a top
tether that helps prevent the seat tipping forward. These
provide a safe and convenient way of correctly securing
ISOFIX child seats (available from your Toyota dealer).
Hybrid System Indicator
The Hybrid System Indicator consists of an energy flow
monitor and ECO-drive monitor. This helps you refine
your eco-driving skills and optimise fuel consumption.

Minimising environmental impact runs through
every part of the Toyota business. In designing
and developing a new vehicle, every component
is carefully considered to ensure environmental

Cycle Analysis for the new Yaris (engine type 1NR-FE)
compared to the previous model, shows a reduction in
emissions of all the main pollutants and considerable
reductions of 18% in CO (Carbon Dioxide), 20% in
NOx (Nitrogen Oxide), 26% in SOx (Sulphur Oxide),
17% in PM (Particulate Matter) and 21% in NMHC
(Non-Methane Hydrocarbons). Our factory in France

is very compact (30% less than standard) and uses
heat recovery through a heat exchanger to decrease
energy consumption, as well as renewable energy
with a solar wall, photovoltaic membrane, and
biomass boiler.
