Hello, my name is mikhail robertson and I’m here to speak about bullying specifically verbal since that’s
the sub-topic I chose. The reason why I chose this topic is because it’s one of the most common types of
bullying especially in schools as stated by nova Djokovic foundation’s blog on verbal bullying in schools
and since it’s affected me in the past the verbal bullying caused me to feel sad and rejected and lowered
my overall self-esteem. I’d like to know how I could’ve dealt with such situations better and to be able to
improve on myself. I think I’ve achieved this through a video by shuhari self-defense and a poem by
Francis Duggan and articles by JSY blog and Novak Djokovic Foundation.

In order to elaborate I believe it would be better to state what verbal bullying is. The definition of verbal
– bullying is when an individual uses very uses verbal language for example insults, teasing or something
like name calling in to mock or insult another person. Unlike with physical bullying where effects are
more obvious with bruises and scratches verbal bullying is harder to see and stop. The main effects of
verbal bullying are low self-esteem, depression, substance abuse or self-harm and in very extreme cases
teen suicide. Now I’m going to state some ways to prevent verbal bullying
