Talk on “Polished Concrete: State of the Art from Europe to Asia”

Synopsis

An introduction into the chemistry behind polished concrete floors will be given, as well as the mechanical treatment to polish
concrete using various abrasives and machines. The various classes of concrete polishing according to American Standards as
well as gloss levels. This seminar will go into detail how to get the highest level of polishing and protection of concrete floors. A
comparison will also be made between polished concrete and other protection methods like PU and epoxy. This seminar will
also elaborate on differences between polished concrete in Europe and Asia, and explain the aspects of circular construction,
which is a hot topic in countries like the Netherlands.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Johannes Peeters is the co-owner cum Director of Deco Crete and is based in Belgium – Vietnam. He has over 35 years
working experience the concrete industry in Europe and the Middle East. He has started as a Civil Project Engineer in BAM
Group from the Netherlands back in 1988, then moved to Martens Beton Group as General Director of Concrete Paving Block in
1989. Followed by becoming one of the Owner/Director in Concrete Colours International in 1993 till now and joining Deco
Crete in 2013 till now. He graduated his Master Degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands in
1987 and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (BA) from University of Twente, Netherlands in 1991.
