Branches from the Academic Year 2023-24) related to :
(i) Formative/ Internal Assessment for Theory Courses (20 marks)
(ii) Student Centric Activities.

Hence, all Principals of both Government, Aided & Private Polytechnics including
Private Engineering Colleges offering Diploma in Engineering and Technology Courses
are requested to inform the same to the concerned Head of Sections and Teaching Faculty
with the instructions to follow them positively from the Academic Year 2023-24.

The Mentors** should maintain an “Activity Record” pertaining to each student of his/ her group
which should be counter signed by concerned HOD and Principal.
** Dividing the students into small groups and attach each group to a faculty
member (Mentor) of the institute and the Mentor should guide the individual
student of their group for their academic and personal growth.

participated on that day – the hardcopy of related
document duly signed by PD of the institute.

P2. Social awareness programs: Details of program (Eg. Polycet campaign, AIDS,
Environmental awareness etc) in which student
participated – hardcopy of participation proof duly
signed by HOD and Mentor.

P3. Art/ talent presentation: Title(s) of presentation(s) – the hardcopy of the


presentation duly signed by concerned HOD and Mentor.

P4. Participation in Institute functions: Title(s) of function (Engineers Day, Independence Day,
teachers’ day etc) – the hardcopy of proof of
participation duly signed by concerned HOD and
Mentor.

HODs have to maintain student-wise files in the section for inspection/ audit. The semester-
wise consolidated report at the end of each semester on the “Activity” should be presented to

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SCHEME AS PER C-23 CURRICULUM

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of
the Department of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh regularly reviews the Curricula in tune
with the developments both in academic and industry side. The curriculum C-23 implemented
from the academic year 2023-24. Government of India, AICTE and other regulatory bodies of
nation have issued instructions to implement National Education Policy 2020 by implementing
Credit System prescribed in NCrF.

As per the orders issued by the Director of Technical Education, the process of Credit
System implementation as per NCrF has been initiated from the month of September,2023 by the
State Board of Technical Education & Training. After conducting many workshops and meetings
with high-level committees comprising the members from JNTUK and AU, the following Credit
System is introduced into the Polytechnic Education from the academic year 2023-24:

Salient Features:

1. For the Diploma programs of duration of 3 years of Regular Academic instruction

 As per NCrF guidelines, 120 credits are to be acquired by a student to get the
Diploma. 40 credits for 1st year, 20 credits for every semester and 20 credits for
industrial training.
 90 periods in 1st year and 45 periods in every semester are allocated for “Activity” for
which the credits are allotted as : 1 credit for 1st year and 0.5 credits for each
semester.
 The students can earn additional credits above 120 by attending (i) Add-on courses
offered by SBTET, (ii) On-line courses through SWAYAM/ NPTEL and (iii) Any
other on-line / off-line courses permitted by Director of Technical Education and
SBTET, A.P.
 All the courses from 1st year to 6th semester are compulsory courses. Students have to
complete the compulsory courses for the award of Diploma.
