With the cruelty of the Spaniards during their colonization, it leads on making the fire in the
heart of the Filipinos burned passionately. The ilustrados and other Filipinos who have a stong
stand for our rights started to created different propagandas and revolutions just to redeem our
own identity and escaped from the abusive hands of Spain.
The decisions and actions made by these heroes reminded me of how we should love our
country. Though it was risky and dangerous for them to fight during that time, they didn’t get
afraid because they know what is wrong and what is right. Even death didn’t stop them. This
made me reminded that we must be brave enough to stand on the ground just to serve our
country. If there are times where we need to show how dedicated and mighty we are to the
possible dilemmas in the Philippines, we must courageously face it as well.
Moreover, one of the highlights of the lesson which I also found significant is the Kartilya ng
Katipunan made by Emilio Jacinto. It is great to know that even before, learning to be
compassionate and having good manners is the most important thing that can be seen in every
Filipino. It revitalized my mind about how I should live my life with purpose and with character.
In today’s world, bringing up this Kartilya would really mean a lot. We know that we are
massively affcected by the influences brought by other countries. and we also know that the
world we are living is just contiuously getting worse and worse. If every citizens would be
reminded about what is inside the Kartilya ng Katipunan, it can undoubtedly make their lives
enlightened and will lead to a life with purpose and good character.
