History.

2. Read the Decalogue of the Duties of the Sons of the People by Andres Bonifacio and compare it with
the Kartilya ng Katipunan by Emilio Jacinto. In your opinion, which better suits the needs of the
Philippine society during the time of the revolution.

Answers:

1) Three reasons why:

1. One of the rare texts from that era that has been preserved is text. It enables us to have a peek
of the ideologies of Katipunan and its representatives today. This motivates us to reflect more
deeply on the objective. We connected the wrongdoings of others in the present because of
what we learnt from the previous administration. The purpose of Katipunan's kartilya is to mold
the Filipino people's minds so they love and value their nation and themselves. We can see
from that paper that it is rich of principles and also inspires self-reflection in those who read it.
The katipuneros will follow this value's directions.

2. It also inspired individuals to join the cause and put their sense of nationalism into action in any
manner they could. This is a reference to the Philippines's independence. This text tells the tale
of how the Filipino people banded together to form a community or organization to oppose the
Spaniards. The problem is that despite the exorbitant cost, Filipinos resist against the colonists
to free their country since they are a unified people. But they will fight for independence for
everyone's benefit as well as for the ones who give their life for our country's freedom. This
demonstrates that Filipinos of that era were intellectual revolutionaries with a strong moral
compass who fought for justice and selfless service. As real Filipinos, we can't inherit their
courage and bravery without them. Every katipunero must exhibit the values and self-reflection
displayed in the Katipunan Kartilya. This teaches us to live morally upright lives. Being an
example of correct behavior has an impact on others.

3. It establishes the framework for how Filipinos generally think. Numerous ideas from Kartilya
still hold true today in both our everyday lives as individuals and the current state of the nation.
Teach us and include concepts, moral principles, and significant values.
2)

The one who better suits the needs of the Philippine society during the time of the
revolution is the Kartilya ng Katipunan by Emilio Jacinto, which is excellently crafted and has a
profound significance for each order. Regardless of its profound meaning and word choice, it is a
useful effort that will help the people of the country see things clearly. Along with that, the
instructions in the Kartilya ng Katipunan also encourage doing good actions, including promoting
equality for all men regardless of race, refraining from harming someone's wife or daughter, standing
up for the downtrodden, and opposing the oppressor. This demonstrates that Jacinto's instructions
are extremely clearly worded, and having the knowledge to follow them would be advantageous to
the colonial community since it would enable people to be superior and inspire cooperation so that
the society might rise up against the colonists. The work of Jacinto would have been very beneficial,
and those who can readily comprehend his writing find his writing to be eye-opening. Although the
Philippines is a God-fearing nation, Andres Bonifacio's works would fit the culture during the time of
the revolution since they are well-focused on Filipino minds and their love of their nation. They may
read the piece once and comprehend it completely because of how simple and understandable it is.
Many individuals will do everything to serve the Lord and their nation out of love and fear for God.
That is why Kartilya ng Katipunan is the book that best represents Philippine culture because it helps
readers and society understand that all they do is for God and the nation. We are taught by the
Kartilya of Katipunan not to judge ourselves by our outward appearance or by adopting western
conventions, but rather to concentrate on improving and loving ourselves. We ought to take a position
and demonstrate our patriotism via deeds, which was one of the needs of the Philippine society
during the time of the revolution.
