THE GOLDEN PILLAR HUGO PEREZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -ANNEX

CATCH UP FRIDAY MONITORING :

READ TO LEAD BATANG PEREZIANS
February 23, 2024 — Hugo Perez Elementary School -
Annex is continuously gearing up to Catch-up Fridays,
with its goal to improve the academic performance of
every Perezian learners most especially in reading
fluency and comprehension.

Dr. Lorna B. De Taza is impressed on how the teachers

crafted different reading activities that are both fun and
age appropriate to their learners as she done a Dr. De Taza during walkthrough observations on Catch-up Friday
walkthrough observations in each classrooms. These
includes CVC snakes and ladders, word formation
using syllables, sight word reading relay and many
more. She also provided technical assistance to those
teachers and commended their great effort in making
an enjoyable reading discussion.

In addition, Dr. De Taza also conducted one-

Dr. De Taza conducted reading assessment with Grade 6 pupils
on-one reading assessment to Grade 6 learners
to identify their reading level. She addressed
important key points of their learning gaps and
informed it to their classroom advisers. They
are also involved in reading assistance with
their learners.

Through various reading materials and

in reading, there is a great chance that Batang
Perezians will be fluent readers and future
leaders not only in classrooms but also in the
society.
