CONCEPT NOTE NO. 5

Chapter 12 is entitled “Business Operation Toward Success”, group 12 reporters intro

their presentation by asking “What is success?” To further answer the question let us identify
the content of their report. According to them a business operation is the activity that values
money to grow. They enumerated the types of business operation which categorized in 4, first
is the production that involves input to final products that are meant to be purchased,
procurement is daily services to obtain all goods to run, quality assurance entitled in producing
quality services and products and the last type is customer service that ensure customer needs
and wants as well as the concerns. The reporters also be able to enumerate functions of
business operations first thing is help the business to earn income to recover from the initial
expenses in establishing the business, operation must have skilled employees that will be
working on different field of specialization on the organization like in accounting, finance,
marketing, and sales. Another function that everyone should contribute true, correct and fair
common goals for the business to properly execute it well.

Other than that they have mentioned things in improving business operation by
evaluating performances, stay up to date with recent trends and look for new technologies. As
a result in my understanding a real success is by having plans, and concrete ideas on how we
will execute our plans. A true success doesn't come in instant it correspond to a wise decision
making and lots of actions of trial and error.
 The last part of the reporting is chapter 14 “Scan the Environment for the Strategic
Location for Business”. The reporter introduces their presentation by defining the topic that
according to them it is by staying ahead of the competition, make the right choices for your
organization’s future, minimize losses and gain knowledge about the factors that affect your
business both directly and indirectly, you need to undertake environmental scanning. The
reporters also mentioned the 5 types of environmental planning which are the economic
scanning, technological, legal scanning, ecological and sociological planning.

In addition they also mentioned “Pestle Analysis” where in it mainly use as looks at
external aspects that influence the success of your firm, therefore it's critical to keep track of
them. They included hazards to your organization and industry; yet, if you study, assess, and
change your business correctly, these threats can become opportunities.
