teaching. It mainly focuses on the principles and practices of teaching. The term education has been
derived from two Greek words “Educare” And Educatum. Educare means to train or to mould and

According to Dewey, life means a concept of experiences which allows a holistic approach to education.
If this is Dewey’s definition of life, then it his assertion might be true that “education is not preparation
for life but life itself”. Education prepare us to the future, however, education has no beggining and
ending. We learn continously even after we graduate. And to learn is to open doors of oppurtunities.
