As a nursing student, the field of nursing that interests me the most is

hospital nurse. I want to be a hospital nurse in the future since working in

the hospital exposes me to a wide variety of medical cases and conditions.
In the hospital, it gives me the chance to often work with other healthcare
professionals, such as doctors, specialists, therapists, and technicians.
Especially, I want to work as an operating room (OR) nurse.

Before I decided to enter the college of nursing, I was fond of

watching medical korean dramas that talked about doctors and nurses life.
The Korean drama with the title of Dr. Romantic has influenced me to work
in a hospital. It amazes me the way nurses assist doctors in surgeries since
every operation is a potential fatality, the constant attention of the nurse is
as important as a major operation. Other influences are family relatives
who work as nurses in the hospital. They recommend me to work in the
hospital, especially in the operating room (OR) area since the salary is
good.

The theory in Nursing that would guide me in the hospital field is the
Roy Adaptation Model by Sister Callista Roy. This theory will guide me
since it focuses on the ability of the person to make new responses to
constantly changing challenges. As a person adapts to a situation the
person has opportunities to grow, develop, and enhance the meaning of
life. As a future nurse that will be working in the hospital, I should learn to
adapt and cope since the environment in the hospital is constantly
changing.
