1-Presentation of the company SONATRACH :
The SONATRACH (National Company for Transport and Marketing of
Hydrocarbons) was established on December 31, 1963, by Decree No: "63-191",
with the mission of handling the transportation and marketing of hydrocarbons,
as stipulated by Decree No: "66-296" of September 1966. SONATRACH
solidified its pivotal role in the national economy following its nationalization
on February 24, 1971.
SONATRACH is the largest hydrocarbon company in Algeria and Africa. It is involved in the
exploration, production, pipeline transportation, processing, and marketing of hydrocarbons and
their derivatives.

2-Présentation de TRC
The Pipeline Transportation Activity (TRC) has the missions of developing the
pipeline transport infrastructure network, storage, loading, and unloading
through port facilities at the quayside and offshore. It ensures the transportation
of hydrocarbons from production centers in the south to demand and processing
centers in the north (domestic market and exports). The TRC activity covers
several areas:
 Operation of hydrocarbon transportation facilities and port installations at the quayside and
offshore.

  Maintenance of hydrocarbon transportation facilities and quayside loading installations and
offshore.
 Studies and development, excluding studies under the Corporate Business Development and
Marketing (BDM) Directorate and project implementation under the Central Engineering and
Project Management Directorate.

3- Organisation of TRC
The Pipeline Transportation Activity (TRC) is structured as follows:

 Studies and Development (EDV): This division prepares studies and the specifications
containing all technical requirements to issue a call for tender, monitors the project, and
meets the needs (EP, EXP, Sonelgaz, LRP) by implementing transport systems (concentrated
structures & pipelines).

 Operations (EXL): The Operations Division ensures the coordination of operations and
management of hydrocarbon transportation structures and pipelines.

 Maintenance (MTN): Whenever there is a breakdown, the Maintenance Division is contacted

to intervene on the structures. It also plans preventive operations and has the following
essential missions:

 Develop the maintenance policy for the transport network (rotating machinery, pipelines,
storage tanks) in collaboration with the Operations Division.

 Perform inspections of pipelines using intelligent tool line equipment and analyze the results
of these inspections.

  Optimize maintenance costs for the transport network.

 Collaborate with relevant structures of the Exploration Division and the Studies and
Development Division in drafting project specifications for development projects, particularly
to optimize pipeline integrity and rotating machinery maintainability.
