Topic: Foods from Barbados

Generalization: Types of food vary from country to country.

Objectives:

● List at least three foods from Barbados.

● Participate actively in class discussion on Barbadian foods.

● Listen attentively to the teacher to follow basic instructions.

Resources/Technologies: images

Set Induction: Have students state some of the foods they like to eat. Ask them who makes the

food. Elicit from students what they think they will be learning about.

Learning Activities/Experiences:

● Inform students that they will be discussing some foods that are indigenous to Barbados.

● Show students images of some Bajan delicacies (fishcakes, cou-cou, flying fish, bakes,

conkies etc).

● Have students state their likes and dislikes from the images shown.

Assessment Procedures: Ask students to state the national dish.


Closure: Have students draw an image of their favorite food from Barbados.
