1. Introduction
1-1. Operating Environment
New Design-Tool is operable in the following environment.

Supported OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 (32-bit, 64-bit)


Windows 8.1 Pro (32-bit, 64-bit)
Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)
CPU 1 GHz (dual core) or more (recommended)
Memory 2 GB or more (recommended)
* A memory of 4 GB or more is recommended for the 64-bit OS.
Hard disk: Free space of 4 GB or more (A data storage area is separately required.)
Display resolution 1024 x 768 or more
.Net Framework .Net Framework 4.5.2
(4.6.1 for Windows10)
* If it has not been installed at the start of the installer, it will be
automatically installed.
Database Access Data Base Engine 2010 SP2 (32-bit)
* If it has not been installed at the start of the installer, it will be

1-2. Software Required by Each Function
(1) Creation of forms and proposal sheets
To output proposal sheets and forms, Microsoft Excel (32/64-bit version) is required. The
versions and service packs of Excel which New Design-Tool supports are shown below.
(The service packs available as of May 2016 are shown.)
* Form/proposal sheet creation software
(1) Microsoft Excel 2010 SP2
(2) Microsoft Excel 2013 SP1
Use the latest service pack to stabilize the operation after installation of Excel. If the latest
service pack is not used, the operation is not guaranteed.

(2) Display of CAD drawings


To output CAD drawings as a DWG file, Autodesk AutoCAD is required.
No software is required to output the drawings as a DXF file. However, to edit and display the
drawings, use Autodesk AutoCAD. Only to display them, use free viewer software, Autodesk
DWG TrueView.
New Design-Tool supports the following software.
・ DWG file

* Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2012 to 2017: For outputting DWG files and editing and
displaying drawings
・ DXF file

* Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2012 to 2017: For editing and displaying


* Autodesk DWG TrueView 2014: Only for displaying

(3) Display of documents


To display the document prepared in PDF format, a PDF reader is required. Use the software
shown below.

2. Installation and Uninstallation
2-1. Installation
(1) New/update installation
Double-click setup.exe, and the Office version selection window will appear. Select the
button corresponding to the Office version to be used, and the installation wizard will start.
If the Office version is unknown, press the ? button.

(2) Welcome Dialog


Click the Next button to move to (3). Click the Cancel button to pause.

(3) License window
The license will be displayed. If you accept the content, select "I accept the terms in the
license agreement," and click Next.
Clicking the Next button will move the screen to (4).
* If you do not accept, the Next button cannot be clicked.
* In the case of update installation, the screen will Jump to (6), skipping (4) and (5).
Clicking the Back button will return the screen to (2). Clicking the Cancel button will
abort the operation.

(4) Serial number input window


Input the correct serial number, and click the Next button to move to (5).
If the number is incorrect, an error message will be displayed.
Clicking the Back button will return the screen to (3). Clicking the Cancel button will abort
the operation.
* For the serial key, consult with the staff of the distributor.

(5) Destination setting window
Specify the destination. The default destination is "C:\Program Files\ NewDesignTool\".
To install the program in this folder, click Next.
To change the destination, click Change and specify a destination.
A folder can be set with the Browser button. Clicking the Next button will move the screen
to (6).
Clicking the Back button will return the screen to (4). Clicking the Cancel button will abort
the operation.

(6) "Installing" screen


The installation will be started.
Upon completion of the installation, the screen will automatically move to (7).

(7) Completion screen (in the case of new installation)
When the installation completes, the following window will appear. Click Finish to end the
installation.

(8) Completion screen (in the case of update installation)


When the installation completes, the following screen will appear. Click Finish to end the
installation.

<Information>
If Microsoft Access or AccessDatabaseEngine has not been installed,
AccessDatabaseEngine2010 will be automatically installed when New Design-Tool is
installed.

2-2. Uninstallation
(1) Starting the uninstaller
Select New Design-Tool from Add or Remove Programs, and execute Remove. The
uninstaller will start and automatically move to (2).

(2) Confirmation window

Clicking the Yes button will move the screen to (3).


Clicking the No button will abort the operation.

(3) "Uninstalling" window
Upon completion of the uninstallation, the screen will move to (4).

(4) Uninstallation completion screen


When the uninstallation completes, the following screen will appear. Click Finish to
complete.

<Information>
For the procedures for updating the program data by using Web update, see Section 5.6.
Before reinstalling, terminate New Design-Tool.

2-3. When Tool Cannot Be Installed
If the button of an improper Office version is selected where New Design-Tool has already
been installed on the PC used, the following error will be displayed. Select the button of the
Office version shown in the message, and reinstall the Tool.

When changing the Office version, uninstall existing New Design-Tool and AccessDatabaseEngine, and
reinstall them.

2-4. When Error Occurs at Start after Installation


If both 32- and 64-bit versions of AccessDatabaseEngine have been installed, the following
error message may be displayed, and the Tool may not be started.

When the error occurs, uninstall New Design-Tool and AccessDataBaseEngine, and reinstall
them. Uninstall AccessDataBaseEngine from [Control Panel] – [Programs and Features.]

If the cache file remains, the following message may be displayed after New Design-Tool
starts, and the Tool may not be operated.

Open Windows Explorer, type in “%appdata%” as shown in the following figure, and press the
Enter key. The screen will scroll to <user> - <appdata> - <roaming>. Delete all folders of New
Design-Tool in the folder.

4. Basic Operation Flow

(1) Select a system configuration input method.

At first, select a system configuration input method in Home View.


(1) New Project
(2) Indoor Unit Input
(3) Room Input
(4) Import XML file
(5) Pre-Selected Indoor Unit

(2) Input the basic information and setting conditions of the object.

Input the basic information and setting conditions of the object in


Project Property.

(3) Input the system configuration.

* Only in the case of Indoor Unit Input or Room Input

(4) Design the piping.

Then, design the refrigerant piping.


On this screen, locate the branch pipes and distribution controllers at
joints to connect the refrigerant piping and locate the indoor units input
in (1).
Check the capacities of the located indoor units and the restrictions on
piping length and connection capacity.
The prepared piping design can be output in bitmap and jpeg formats.

(5) Set the remote controllers and Lossnay.

Then, locate the remote controllers and Lossnay.


Move the screen to the control design screen from the Switch menu on
the piping design screen.
On this screen, locate the local remote controllers to the groups or
locate the system remote controllers and specify the operation groups.
When using Lossnay, locate Lossnay on this screen.

(6) Output the skeleton diagram.

After the completion of setting of the remote controllers and Lossnay,


the skeleton diagram of the project can be output.
Execute AutoCAD output from the AutoCAD menu on the control
design screen, and AutoCAD will start to prepare the skeleton diagram.

(7) Set the host controller AG-150A or AE-200E(A) of the expansion controller.
* In the case with LAN connection

When "LAN connection" has been selected on the project setting


screen and the expansion controller has been located on the control
design screen, set AG-150A or AE-200E(A) on the upper side of the
expansion controller.
On this screen, prepare the host controller AG-150A or AE-200E(A),
and associate the expansion controller located on the control design
screen with it.

(8) Design the LAN wiring. * In the case with LAN connection

When "LAN connection" has been selected on the project setting


screen, connect the located expansion controller and AG-150A or
AE-200E(A) through hubs. The results of location can be output to a
skeleton diagram.

5. Home View
5-1. New Project
5-1-1. New Project
(1) Project Property
This screen is designed to set the project information.
After the completion of setting, click the OK button.
Even after the information is set, it can be changed by selecting [Option] - [Change Project
Property] from the menu on Piping View. However, the frequency and region cannot be
changed.

1) Inputting the creation date (Prepared on)


By default, the current date is displayed. To change the date, click the pull-down. A date
can be selected from the calendar.
This data will be reflected in output to AutoCAD.
2) Inputting the control number (Cont No)
The customer can input any number. It is allowed to skip this item if unnecessary.
Up to 10 characters can be input. This data will be reflected in output to AutoCAD.
3) Inputting the customer’s name (Customer’s name)
Input the customer’s name. This data will be reflected in output to AutoCAD.
4) Inputting comment (Comment)
The input comment will be output under the submitter name on the cover when the
proposal sheet is output.
If the box is checked, it will be output in the REMARKS column in output to CAD.
5) Inputting the frequency (Frequency)
Outdoor units, indoor units and Lossnay for the selected frequency are applicable.
Note that the frequency cannot be changed after it is set.
6) Inputting the region (Region)
Select the region of the project. The models released in the selected region are
applicable. By default, the region selected during installation is selected.
7) Inputting the use of LAN connection (LAN connection)
Set whether or not to connect to the LAN. When an expansion controller is used for
AG-150A or AE-200E(A) to operate 51 or more indoor units, select "with LAN
connection."
Click the "?" button, and the explanation about LAN connection will be displayed.
8) Selecting the temperature setting method
Select the temperature setting method.
When "Collective temperature setting for the entire system" is selected, common outside
air conditions will be applied to the whole project. In this case, the outside air condition
items must be input without fail.
When "Individual temperature setting for each indoor unit" is selected, the temperature

for each of indoor and outdoor units can be set.
By default, "Collective temperature setting for the entire system" is selected.
9) Inputting the outside air conditions
Input the dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature and relative humidity of indoor and
outdoor units. When creating the refrigerant system for a water-cooled model, input the
water temperature at heat source water inlet. The data indicated by boldface will be used
for capacity correction calculation.
When the dry bulb temperature is changed, the relative humidity will be automatically
calculated based on the dry bulb temperature and wet bulb temperature and set. When
the relative humidity is changed, the wet bulb temperature will be automatically
calculated based on the dry bulb temperature and relative humidity and set. When the
wet bulb temperature is changed, the relative humidity will be automatically calculated
based on the wet bulb temperature and dry bulb temperature and set.
Click the Unit of Measurement button, and the unit setting screen will appear, and the
unit can be changed.
* The water temperature at heat source water inlet is displayed only when a refrigerant
system is created.
10) Registering the frequently-used design conditions
Patterns of frequently-used design conditions can be registered in Area, and a pattern
can be selected from the pull-down menu in Area to set the conditions.
Input the temperature conditions to be registered in the temperature condition fields,
input the name to be registered in the Area field, and click the Register button. Then, the
conditions will be registered in the pull-down menu in Area. The registered patterns will
be recorded in the area.xml file.

Input the data in the following ranges.

11) Returning to the initial conditions
Click the Default button, and the outside air conditions will be returned to the initial
conditions.
12) Returning to the previous screen
Click the Cancel button, and Project Property Dialog will close. The input data will not be
saved.
13) Saving the input data
Click the OK button, and the input data will be saved.
In the case of transition from Home View, the screen will change to the series selection
dialog.
In the case of transition from the piping design screen or control design screen, the
settings will be changed, and the screen will return to the previous screen.

(2) Selection of series


Select the series of the first refrigerant system. The applicable series vary depending on
the region selected on the Project Property screen. If Lossnay is selected, the screen will
move to Control View without creation of a refrigerant system on Piping View.

5-1-2. Indoor Unit Input


The Project Property Dialog will be displayed. (For the setting procedures, see 5-1-1. (1).) After
inputting, click the OK button, and the indoor unit selection screen will appear. On this screen, you
can preliminarily input a list of indoor units to be arranged on Piping View. The indoor units input on
this screen are contained in "Indoor unit box" on Piping View. It is possible to automatically arrange
the units. The indoor units for MUZ/SUZ Series, PU/PUH/PUHZ Series, MXZ Series, Close Control
System, Large Capacity Floor Standing PAC and DOAS cannot be input on this screen.

(1) Inputting the indoor units
1) Inputting one by one
Click the Single Input button ( ), and a dialog will be displayed.
2) Input the information on the series to be registered.
2)-1. Select series.
Click the pull-down, and select the series to be input.

3) Input the information on the indoor unit to be registered.


3)-1. Select the indoor unit type.
Click the pull-down, and select the type of the indoor unit to be input.
3)-2. Select the indoor unit model. The models of the selected type are displayed in the
pull-down list. Select the total heat/sensible heat cooling or heating, input the
required capacity (Capacity), and click the Select button. Then, only the models
which meet the input capacity will be displayed as candidates.
The capacity of the selected model is displayed in the Specification field.
3)-3. Input the group name. Up to 40 characters can be input. Select the pull-down, and
the registered group names will be displayed. You can select a group from the list.
3)-4. Input the centralized system name. Up to 20 characters can be input. Set the
name of the centralized system on which the refrigerant system will be located.
3)-5. Input the refrigerant system name. Up to 40 characters can be input. Set the
name of the refrigerant system on which the indoor unit to be registered will be
located.

3)-6. Input data in Description. Up to 40 characters can be input. The data input in
Description will be used as the room name in output to AutoCAD. This item is not
mandatory. It is allowed to leave this field blank.
4) Click the Add button, and add the input indoor unit. To register an indoor unit with the
same information, click the Add button continuously. To end the input, click the Cancel
button, and the dialog will close.
(2) Inputting indoor units from equipment table
Indoor units can be registered by reading the data from the equipment table file.
1) Equipment table format
The equipment table is a file in CSV format. Input the data separated by delimiters (*) in
each line in the following order.
Caution! Use the delimiter specified in the regional setting of the OS used.

If one or more of the piping length, number of bends and height is unnecessary, input all
delimiters. The data on outdoor units, piping members and controllers cannot be read.

2) Read the equipment table.


2)-1 Click the Import File button. The file selection dialog will be displayed. Select the
equipment table file to be loaded.
2)-2 The file will be loaded. If the model is not available in the selected region or at the
selected frequency, the data are displayed in red. Correct them separately.
Caution! When an equipment table file is loaded, the data which have been registered
will be deleted.

(3) Correction, insertion, deletion and sorting


1) Correction of input data
To correct registered data, double-click on the line containing the data to be corrected.
Then, the dialog for correction will be displayed. Correct the data as needed, and click
the Apply button.
2) Insertion and registration
To additionally register an indoor unit in the middle of the table, select the data in the
position to which the unit must be inserted, and click the Insert button. The indoor unit

input dialog will be displayed. Input the data on the indoor unit to be registered, and
press the Add button. The same operation can be performed by selecting [Insert] from
the right-click menu.
3) Deletion of registered data
To delete registered data, select the data to be deleted, and click the Delete button. The
confirmation message will be displayed. Press the OK button to delete the data. Select
data while holding down the Shift and Ctrl keys, and the data on more than one line can
be selected and deleted. The same operation can be performed by selecting [Delete]
from the right-click menu.
4) Sorting
To sort the data displayed in the table, select the line on which the data to be shifted has
been registered, click the Up or Down button, and the data will be shifted one line up or down.
The same operation can be performed by selecting [Up] or [Down] from the right-click menu.
Data can be sorted by clicking the title “Group” or “Outdoor Unit” in the table.

(4) Transition to Piping View
1) To automatically arrange the registered indoor units
To automatically pipe the registered indoor units, check the Auto Piping box, and click the
OK button.
The series will be piped as shown below.
Y Series, S Series and WY Series:
The indoor units will be arranged by branching the line (straight line pattern with
joints).

R2 Series and WR2 Series:


One indoor unit will be located at each branch port of the BC controller. If the indoor
units cannot be located with a single BC controller, they will be located with the main
and sub BC controllers.
* The indoor units which cannot be located even when the main and sub BC
controllers are used will be put in the indoor unit box.
2) To manually arrange the registered indoor units
To manually arrange the registered indoor units, click the OK button without checking the
Auto Piping box. The registered indoor units will be put in the indoor unit box. They can
be taken from the box and used on the piping screen.

5-1-3. Room Input
The Project Property Dialog will be displayed. (For the setting procedures, see 5.1.1(1).)
After inputting, click the OK button, and the room data screen will appear.
After the room information and the indoor unit configuration in each room are input on the
room data screen, the screen will change to Piping View. The input indoor units are put in
the "Indoor Unit Box" if the refrigerant system name has been set or in the "Indoor Unit Box -
each room" if it has not been set.

(1) Inputting the margin ratio


Input the margin ratio to the required capacity for each room.
The required capacity will be calculated in consideration of the margin ratio by the formula
"requirement capacity + required capacity x margin ratio / 100" and displayed above the
room list.
(2) Registering a room
1) Inputting the room information.

For the required capacity for each room, the value of one of total heat cooling,
sensible heat cooling and heating can be input.
2) Click the Add button to add the room with the input data.

To end the input, click the Cancel button.
When the Cancel button is clicked, the screen will return to the Home screen. The input
information on the indoor units will not be saved.
(3) Inputting the indoor unit information
1) Select the room of the indoor units to be registered on the room list.
2) Click the Single Input button ( ), and a dialog will be displayed.
The room name is displayed in the upper most Room Name field in the dialog, and the
information on the selected capacity of the room is displayed in the Selected Total
Capacity field. In the Selected Total Capacity field, the data is displayed in the form
"selected capacity/required capacity in consideration of margin ratio" for each of total
heat cooling, sensible heat cooling and heating. When the selected capacity does not
meet the required capacity, the capacity is displayed in red. When it meets the required
capacity, it is displayed in green.

3) Input the information on the indoor unit to be registered.
3)-1 Set the temperature conditions.
Input the dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures and relative humidity in the same
manner as on the project setting screen. When All Fresh has been selected for the
indoor unit Type, the input items are outdoor temperature conditions. When
another type has been selected, the input items are indoor temperature conditions.
The input items are automatically changed according to the selected Type.
3)-2 Select the series of the indoor unit.
Select the series of the indoor unit to be registered.
Click the pull-down, and a series list will be displayed.
3)-3 Select the type of the indoor unit.
Select the type of the indoor units to be registered.
Click the pull-down, and a list of types of the selected series will be displayed.
3)-4 Select Cooling (Total), Cooling (Sensible) or Heating (Total), and input the required
capacity (Capacity).
3)-5 To select simultaneously the indoor unit and Lossnay, check Use Lossnay, input
the total air volume, and click the Lossnay Selection button. Then, the candidate
models of Lossnay and the numbers of units conforming to the value will be
displayed in the format of “Model name * number of units” in the Model field.
3)-6 Select the indoor unit to be registered. Click the Show Option button, and the
capacity to be used as a selection criterion will be displayed in the Capacity (Model
Selection) field based on the values in Type and Capacity. The candidate models of

indoor unit and the numbers of units based on the value will be displayed in the
format of “Model name * number of units” in the Model field.
When Use Lossnay has been checked, the input outdoor air load and the value of
Enthalpy exchange efficiency (Cooling/Heating) displayed in the Specification
(Lossnay on High Notch Mode) field will be taken into consideration. Click the ?
button, and the PDF file of explanation of Outdoor air load will be displayed.
When the required number of units is one, the numbers of units will not be
displayed. Click the pull-down, and a list of the models of the selected type will be
displayed in consideration of the required numbers of units. The capacity of one
unit of the selected model will be displayed in the Specification field.
3)-7 Input the refrigerant system name (Outdoor) for the indoor unit to be registered.
Input Ref. of the indoor unit to be registered.

* If Lossnays are required as well as indoor units:


3)-8 Input the group name (Group Description) of the indoor unit to be registered.
Mark “Use Lossnay”. Boxes for Outdoor air load, Enthalpy exchange efficiency, and
Total air volume get activated. All of the boxes need to be filled.
3)-9 Input the remarks on the indoor unit to be registered.
Click the “Show Option” button. New Design-Tool builds the Model list for indoor
units and that for Lossnays individually, which contain model names and quantities
satisfying the inputted condition. The list for indoor units is according to the
Capacity (Model Selection) value, which takes account of Lossnay’s effect. The
effect is computed with the Outdoor air load, the Enthalpy exchange efficiency, and
the Total air volume. The list for Lossnays is according to the Total air volume.
Choose what to be used from the lists.

4) Click the Apply button to add the indoor unit with the input data.
After the indoor unit is added, the latest data will be displayed in the Selected Total
Capacity field, and you can register another indoor unit continuously.
To end the input, click the Cancel button.
(4) Correction, insertion, deletion and sorting
The operations for correction, insertion, deletion and sorting in the list in the dialogs are
common to the room data and indoor unit data.
1) Correction of input data
To correct registered data, double-click on the line containing the data to be corrected. Then, the
dialog for correction will be displayed. Correct the data as needed, and click the Apply button.
2) Insertion and registration
To register data in the middle of the table, select the data in the position to which the
data must be inserted, and click the Insert ( ) button. Then, the input dialog will be
displayed. Input the data to be registered, and click the Add button.
This operation can be performed also by selecting [Insert] from the right click menu.
3) Deletion of registered data
To delete registered data, select the data to be deleted, and click the Delete ( )
button. The confirmation message will be displayed. To delete, click the OK button.
Select data while holding down the Shift and Ctrl keys, and the data on several lines
can be selected and deleted. It is impossible to select several lines of room data.
This operation can be performed also by selecting [Delete] from the right click menu.

4) Sorting
To sort the data displayed in the list, select the line of the data to be shifted, click the Up
( ) or Down ( ) button, and the data will be shifted one line up or down.
This operation can be performed also by selecting [Up] or [Down] from the right click menu.
Room and indoor unit data can be sorted by clicking the titles "Room" and "Ref" in the
table, respectively.
(5) Transition to Piping View
Click the OK button to change the screen to Piping View. The registered rooms will be
displayed on their respective indoor unit boxes. The registered indoor units for which the
refrigerant system name has been input will be located in the “Indoor Unit Box”, and those
for which the refrigerant system name has not been input will be located in the “Indoor Unit
Box – each room.” These units can be selected from the boxes and used on Piping View.

5-1-4. Import XML file


When a project file which has been prepared and saved in XML format is specified, the
screen will change to Piping View, and the details of the design in the file will be displayed.
The project files in XML format must be created in the specified form.

5-1-5. Pre-Selected Indoor Unit


When a project file which has been prepared and saved in TSV format is specified, the screen
will change to the piping design screen, and the details of the design in the file will be displayed.
For the project files in TSV format, use the template which can be taken out of this screen.

Set the version and path of AutoCAD LT to be used for plotting. To set the path, click the

Set the method for outputting the refrigerant piping list conforming to the piping symbols
in the output drawing data.
 Per Drawing: The list will be output according to the model name or size shown in
Refrigerant System on the drawing to be output.
 All: The model or size list will be output according to the number common
to all drawings.

5-4-3. Region setting


Select the region and language to be used.
(1) Region
If Default is selected, the model data provided by the factory can be used.
(2) Language
If Default is selected, data in English prepared by the factory will be displayed.

・ Select whether or not to check the height difference limit (default: Enable).

5-6. Updating program data (Using WebUpdate)
5-6-1. Procedures
When starting New Design-Tool, check the versions of the files in the Web Update server.
(1) If the latest version of any file exists, the screen will change to the Information screen.
If there are no latest files, the tool will start as usual.
(2) If the latest version of a file exists, update the file.
Click the Update button on the Information screen, and the WebUpdate dialog will be
displayed.
(3) In the WebUpdate dialog, the latest versions and the importance of upgrading of each file
are displayed.
(4) After the completion of downloading of the files, restart New Design-Tool.
The update files will be updated, and New Design-Tool will start.

5-7. Local update by data difference

New Design-Tool can update its database by data difference files. The files are provided by
distributor.

(1) Click the “Local Update” button in the Information view to open the dialog.

(2) Specifiy the folder containing data difference files. Click “Run” button to start updating the
database.

(3) After the update finishes, close the dialog by clicking “Close” button. This action invokes
automatic restart of New Design-Tool.

6. Piping View
6-1. Creation of centralized system
At first, create a centralized system, and create a refrigerant system belonging to the
centralized system.
The centralized system will be displayed in the frame on the screen.
6-1-1. Procedure
To add a new centralized system, create the system from any of the following menus.
・ [Centralized Control] - [New Centralized Control System]
・ [Menu displayed by right-clicking the mouse in the upper frame] - [New Centralized
Control System]
6-1-2. Copying an existing centralized system
A new centralized system can be created by copying a created centralized system. Select
the centralized system to be copied, and create a new one from the following menu.
・ [Centralized Control] - [Copy Centralized Control System]
・ [Menu displayed by right-clicking the mouse in the upper frame] - [Copy System]
6-1-3. Deleting a centralized system
To delete a created centralized system, select the system to be deleted, and delete it from
the following menu.

6-1-4. Switching the centralized system
To switch the centralized system to another one, click and select the centralized system to

6-2. Inputting Y (Heat Pump/Cooling Only) series


6-2-1. Selecting an outdoor unit
When "Manual" has been specified for Option - Outdoor Unit Selection in Home View, the
outdoor unit setting dialog will be displayed. When "Individual temperature setting for each
indoor unit" has been selected in Project Property, also the outside air condition input
items will be displayed in this dialog. When "Cancel" is selected, the outdoor unit will not
be set.
If the outdoor unit is not set, the outdoor unit model will be automatically set based on the
capacity of indoor units after all indoor units are located. The water temperature at heat
source water inlet is displayed only when the refrigerant system for a water-cooled model
is created.

(1) Outdoor Unit Mandatory

Select the model of the outdoor unit from the drop-down list. If a power supply is
selected (208/230 V, 460 V or 575 V), the list can be narrowed to the models

This item must be input without fail when the refrigerant system for a water-cooled
model is created.
(10) Unit Data PDF button
Click the Unit Data PDF button, and the PDF file of the specification table of the selected
model can be browsed. The list will be displayed. Select the data to be browsed.

If the PDF data on the selected model has not been installed, a message will be
displayed.

(1) Upper frame
A list of the centralized systems being created in the current project is displayed. Select the
centralized system to be handled, and it will be displayed in the right and left frames.
(2) Left frame
A list of the refrigerant systems on the selected centralized system is displayed. Select the
refrigerant system to be handled, and it will be displayed in the right frame.
(3) Right frame
The structure of the refrigerant piping of the selected refrigerant system is displayed. Drag
and drop indoor units and branch pipes in this frame to create a refrigerant piping.
(4) Component box
To arrange indoor units and joints, drag and drop them from this box.
(5) Box for checking
You can check the number of currently set units and the total piping length.
The values after / are the limit values. Input values not exceeding them.
(6) Indoor unit box
The indoor units input on the indoor unit selection screen are put in this box. Also the
indoor units input on the room data screen for which the refrigerant system names have
been set are put in this box. The left tree shows a group list. Select a group, and the indoor
units in the group which are in the right indoor unit box but have not been arranged will be
displayed.
The indoor units deleted from the right frame are moved into this box.
Indoor units in this box can be arranged by drag and drop.
(7) Indoor unit box for each room
The indoor units input on the room data screen for which the refrigerant system names
have not been set are put in this box. The left tree shows a room list. Select a room, and
the indoor units in the room which are in the right indoor unit box but have not been
arranged will be displayed.
In the case of the MEUS region, only the indoor units conforming to the UL Standard
selected when the series has been specified are displayed in the right indoor unit box.
Indoor units in this box can be arranged by drag and drop.

(8) Height Limitation Check
The results of check of the height difference between units are displayed. If the height
difference exceeds the limit in any place, the screen cannot be changed to any other
screen. It is possible to set the height of units in the Height column.

To locate a joint or a header, drag and drop it from the component box to the desired place.
Then, the following dialog will be displayed. Input the data, and click the OK button to locate
it.

Select the type of the branch pipe to be located. The type of the branch pipe selected in
the component box has been selected by default.

Input the length of the piping from the branch pipe to be located to the previous
component.

has been selected by default.

Input the number of bends in the piping from the indoor unit to be located to the previous
component.
(5) Group Description Mandatory

Input the group name of the indoor unit to be located. By default, "the number of existing
groups + 1" is displayed. To change it, input the name.

Input the name of the room in which the indoor unit will be located.
(7) M-NET Address
To manually set the M-NET address of the indoor unit to be located, input the address.
To automatically set it, it is unnecessary to input it.
(8) Remarks
Input the remarks on the indoor unit to be located.
(9) Water flow rate
When an Air-to-water or Hot-water-supply indoor unit has been selected, this input field
is displayed.

(10) Inlet water temperature
When an Air-to-water or Hot-water-supply indoor unit has been selected, this input field
is displayed.
Input the inlet water temperature of the indoor unit to be located.

For models for which VAV can be set, the VAV input field is displayed in the indoor unit dialog.
To set the VAV, check the Air Volume Control System box.
When the box is checked, the function settings to be used will be displayed. Check the

6-2-7. Copying and locating
To copy and locate a located component, drag and drop the component to be copied to the
desired position.
When a component is copied, also the piping length, number of bends, group and
Description of the copied component will be copied. When a branch pipe is copied, also the
components located under the pipe will be copied.

6-2-8. Deleting located component


To delete a located component, select the component to be deleted, and delete it from the
following menu.
・ [Component] - [Remove Component]
・ [Menu displayed by right-clicking the mouse] - [Remove Component]
When a branch pipe is deleted, also the components located under the pipe will be deleted.
However, when only one component is connected under the branch pipe, only the selected
component will be deleted. The deleted indoor unit will be moved to the indoor unit box.
The deleted indoor unit will be moved to the indoor unit box. It can be re-located from the
box. To delete an indoor unit from the indoor unit box, select the indoor unit to be deleted,
and execute [Remove Component] in the right-click menu.
To undo the deletion, select [Component] – [Undo] from the menu.
Caution! Only the last operation can be undone.

6-2-9. Changing model of located component


To change the model of a located component, select the component, Display the dialog from
any of the following menus.
・ [Component] - [Change Component]
・ [Menu displayed by right-clicking the mouse] - [Change Component]
Change the model in the displayed dialog.
It can be changed also by dragging and dropping a model to the component from the
component box.

6-2-10. Changing information on located component


To change the piping length, number of bends, group and/or room of a located component,
select the component, and display the dialog from any of the following menus to change the
information. Items which must not be changed are grayed out.

6-2-11. Moving located component
To move a located component to another position, select the component, and drag and drop
it to the desired position while holding down the Shift button.
When a branch pipe is selected, also the components connected under the pipe will be

6-2-12. Checking system configuration


The system configuration can be checked for problems from the following menu.

If there are no problems with the configuration, the following message will be displayed.

If any problem is found, an error message will be displayed. Correct the configuration

6-2-13. Automatic reselection of outdoor unit


If an outdoor unit has not been manually set when the refrigerant system was created, the
outdoor unit model will be automatically set according to the indoor unit capacity after all
indoor units are located. To automatically reselect an outdoor unit after the outdoor unit is
set, execute the following menu.
・ [System] - [Outdoor Unit Auto Select]
If the refrigerant system still has space for indoor units, the automatic reselection cannot be
executed.

When the connection capacity to a branch port is 81 to 140, pipes can be connected with
one port although the performance reduces by 3%. In this case, a junction pipe will be
automatically located. After arranging the indoor units, select the BC controller, and the
junction pipe can be deleted from the following menu. Also, if you release, the junction pipe
of both Main and Sub BC controllers will be deleted except for the P200 indoor unit.

When an outdoor unit to which a branch box can be connected has been selected, a
branch box in the component box can be dragged and dropped into a place for location.
When a model to which a branch box cannot be connected has been selected, a
prohibition symbol will be displayed on the icon of the branch box which you want to drag
and drop, and the branch box cannot be located.

The number in parentheses on the right side of each group name indicates the number
of indoor units in the indoor unit box.
(2) Right frame
The indoor units in the group selected in the left frame which have not been located are
displayed. Locate the indoor units on Piping View from this frame by drag and drop.

6-20. Indoor unit box for each room


The indoor unit box for each room contains the indoor units which have been input on the
room data screen and for which the refrigerant system name has not been set.
The indoor units in the indoor unit box for each room can be located on Piping View by drag
and drop.

(1) Left frame


A list of the rooms input on the room data screen is displayed. If a new room is set for
indoor and outdoor units on Piping View, the room will be displayed under them. When a
room is selected, the indoor units which have not been located will be displayed in the

right frame.
The number of indoor units in the indoor unit box for each room is indicated in
parentheses next to the room name. In the case of a region covered by MEUS, the
number shows the number of the indoor units not located in the selected room
regardless of UL Standard, and therefore the number may not agree with the number
shown in the indoor unit box on the right side.
(2) Right frame
The indoor units which have not been located in the room selected in the left frame are
displayed. The indoor units with Lossnays, which are selected at the Room Input view,
are marked as shown in the figure on the right. (See the right figure.) In
the case of a region covered by MEUS, only the indoor units
conforming to UL Standard selected when the series was specified are displayed. Drag
and drop the indoor units from this frame to locate them on the piping design screen.

To change the series of a created refrigerant system, select the refrigerant system to be
changed, and change it from the following menu.

After the series is changed, the located indoor units will be automatically relocated.
* It is impossible to change MUZ/SUZ, PU/PUH/PUHZ or MXZ Series to any other series.

6-26. Moving refrigerant system to another centralized system


To move a created refrigerant system to another centralized system, select the refrigerant
system to be moved from the left frame, and drag and drop it onto the desired centralized
system in the upper frame.

6-27. Outputting input data to file

The number of components on all centralized systems, piping information, etc. can be
output as XML file by using the menu [File] - [Export XML]. The data on all refrigerant

The meanings of values and characters displayed on the indoor units and system remote
controllers are shown.

7-2. Location of Local Remote Controller


7-2-1. Location in Individual Group
Locate the local remote controller for each group. Drag and drop the local remote
controller selected from the component box to the local remote controller column of the
relevant group.
Then, the following dialog will be displayed. Select the appropriate data, and click the OK
button to locate the controller. However, when only one model can be selected for the
selected remote controller type, the model will be located without display of the dialog.

(1) Type
Select the type of the local remote controller to be located. That selected from the
component box is selected as the default.
(2) Model
Select the model of the local remote controller to be located. A list of the models of the
selected type is displayed.
(3) M-NET Address
This field is displayed when the M-NET remote controller has been selected.
Input the M-NET address of the M-NET remote controller to be located. To manually
set the address of the M-NET remote controller to be located, input the address. To
automatically set it, it is unnecessary to input it.
(4) Honeywell centralized remote controller
When Honeywell remote controller has been selected, the screen as shown below will
appear. To use Honeywell centralized remote controller, check the "centralized controller"
box, and select the model to be used. Up to two units can be located in one group.

7-2-2. Location in All Groups


To locate the same local remote controller in all groups, select the desired local remote
controller from the component box, and drag and drop it to the title field of the local remote
controller column.
When an MA remote controller, ME remote controller or wireless remote controller is dropped,
the dropped local remote controller will be located in all groups of indoor units. When Lossnay
remote controller is dropped, the remote controller will be located in all groups of Lossnay.
However, it will not be located in groups of MUZ/SUZ, PU/PUH/PUHZ or MXZ Series or
groups in which two local remote controllers have been located.

7-3. Location of System Controller
To locate a system controller, select the desired system controller from the component box,
and drag and drop it to the position indicated by "DROP HERE" in the system remote
controller column.
Then, the following dialog will be displayed. Select the appropriate data, and click the OK

* When only one model can be selected for the dropped type, the dialog will not be displayed,
and the model will be located. (In this case, the transmission line for centralized control is

This line cannot be selected for a system controller which cannot be connected to the
indoor/outdoor transmission line.
・Centralized control transmission line
When the centralized control transmission line is selected, the controller will be connected
to the centralized control transmission line at the time of output by AutoCAD.
(4) M-NET Address
Input the M-NET address of the system controller to be located. To manually set the
address of the system controller to be located, input the address. To automatically set it,
it is unnecessary to input it.
(5) IP address
The address is displayed when "LAN connection" has been selected on the project
setting screen and Central controller or Expansion controller has been selected in Type.
Input the IP address of the system controller to be located.

(6) Use Built-in Port(s)
This item is displayed only when the

HERE" in the indoor unit column.

possible to set the local remote controller only for the main setting model.

Interlocking target

At the time of CAD output, Lossnay will be connected to the indoor/outdoor unit
transmission line of the refrigerant system on which the top indoor unit specified as the
interlock object is located. When interlocked with P Series, Lossnay will be connected with
the object indoor units through the interlocking cable.

7-4-3. Input of Stand-alone Lossnay System


(1) Select "Lossnay (with M-NET)" or "Lossnay (Without M-NET)" on the series selection
screen when creating the centralized system on Piping View.
・Lossnay (with M-NET): Select to control through M-NET.
・Lossnay (without M-NET): Select to input Lossnay to be controlled by
microcomputer. The control screen will appear.

(2) Drag and drop Lossnay to locate it.


In the case of stand-alone Lossnay system, only Stand-Alone and TB7 on outdoor unit
can be selected. In the case without M-NET, the connection destination cannot be
selected.

(3) Locate local remote controller and system controller in the group of input Lossnay by
drag and drop.

The Lossnays selected at the Room Input view are reserved in “Lossnay (each room)”
dialog.

The components in the dialog can be located as either stand alone or interlocked
Lossnay. Each one should be set to operate with the indoor units in the same room.
Interlocked Lossnay has to be related to the indoor units in that way.
The all components in the dialog are required to be located on the control view. Both
going to the other view and outputting CAD or some file is disabled until the dialog gets
empty.

When TB5 has been selected as the destination, select the refrigerant system on which
PI/AI/DIDO will be located.
PI/AI/DIDO will be located on the indoor/outdoor unit transmission line of the selected
system.

Set the number of contacts.
(6) Device to be monitored
The input fields are displayed for the number of contacts. Input information on the
contacts.
(7) M-NET Address
Input the M-NET address of PI/AI/DIDO to be located. To manually set the address of
PI/AI/DIDO to be located, input the address. To automatically set it, it is unnecessary to
input it.

7-6. Location of AHC Adapter
To locate an AHC, select the AHC from the component box, and drag and drop it to the local
remote controller column of the group where the AHC adapter will be located.
Then, the following dialog will be displayed. Select the appropriate data, and click the OK

Select the type to be located.
(2) Model
Select the model to be located. A list of the models of the selected type is displayed.
(3) Connect to
Select the transmission line to connect the AHC adapter from the indoor/outdoor unit

Check this box to fix to 24 V DC.
(5) Power source
Select 24 V DC or 100 - 240 V AC.
(6) M-NET Address
Input the M-NET address of the AHC adapter to be located. To manually set the address
of the AHC adapter to be located, input the address. To automatically set it, it is
unnecessary to input it.

7-13-1. Setting Address
Select the following menu, and an address can be automatically assigned to a component to
which an M-NET address has not been given.

Once the address of each unit is set, the address is unchangeable. If the configuration is
changed, for example by adding an indoor unit, after the unit addresses are set, the unit
addresses which have been set will not be changed. An address not in use will be given to
the added unit.
Also when the AutoCAD output menu is selected, the address will be set.

Once the address of a unit is set, the address set for the unit is unchangeable. To reset the
addresses to set new addresses for all units, the addresses can be reset from the following

7-15. Outputting System Diagram
The input piping system and the skeleton diagram of control can be output by AutoCAD.
Display the AutoCAD output screen from the following menu.
・ [Output] - [Output to AutoCAD]
・ Button on tool bar

All refrigerant systems can be output to one diagram or divided and output to some pages.
To output the systems to some pages, specify the refrigerant systems at a page break.
(1) Check the Page feed boxes of the refrigerant systems at a page break.
A new page will be started at the page break between the checked refrigerant
systems.
The page number on which each refrigerant system will be output is displayed in the
Page no column. See also this column.
* Click the One in each page button, and all refrigerant system boxes will be
checked.
* Click the All in one page button, and all check boxes will be cleared.
(2) Select the page to be output from the Page drop-down list.
(3) Select the power supply unit to be used.
The power supply unit selection field is not displayed in the following cases.

* When G-50A, AG-150A, EC, GB-50ADA or BM Adapter is used for the system
controller
* When the centralized system does not require power
* When No use has been selected in the Power supply unit dialog
(4) Click the Print button, and the selected page will be output.
If there is a stand-alone Lossnay system or stand-alone Lossnay for which "TB7 on
outdoor unit" has been selected, Lossnay will be output to an independent page.
The system displayed in "Lossnay independent system" is output to the page.
To output the stand-alone Lossnay system or stand-alone Lossnay for which "TB7 on
outdoor unit" has been selected, select this page.

When an LM adapter or a BM adapter has been located, the wiring diagram can be output
by the "Print LM Adapter diagram" or "Print BM Adapter diagram" button.
In the case of Replace Y Series or Replace R2 Series, it is possible to determine whether or
not to print the piping size by selecting Output or Not output.
It is possible to select the power supply wiring method for the indoor units of the multi air
conditioner for buildings from individual wiring and daisy chain wiring in the Power Supply
Diagram field.
* The power supply will be individually wired by selecting Individual Wiring.
* The power supply will be connected in daisy chain by selecting Daisy Chain.
The results of judgment of acceptability of connection of pipes having different diameters in
Replace Y Series or Replace R2 Series can be output by selecting Output/Not output in
"The symbol of replace judgment."

To execute for the first time, set the version of AutoCAD and the path where AutoCAD is
installed. The path can be set from the Option - Option AutoCAD menu.

The proposal file can be output based on the input information on the piping system and
control design. Select one of the following menus, and the proposal file output screen will

Click OK on the output screen, and Excel will start. If the message asking you to

(1) Product Features output setting
Set the Product Features outputting method. If "Output by each control system" is
selected, the data on each centralized system will be output. (The data on the same
models on centralized systems will be output redundantly.)
If "Output eliminating duplicate equipment" is selected, the data on the whole project
will be output without duplication of model names.
(2) Select Proposal Contents setting
Set the Product Features data to be output. The checked data items will be output.

7-18. Outputting Indoor Units Located in Project to Excel


Information on the indoor units located in the project can be output.
Select the following menu, and the Excel file will be output.
・ [Output] - [C/H load and model information]
CAUTION! To output the proposal file, Microsoft Excel is required (see 1-2 (1)).

Execute the menu, and Excel will start. If the message asking you to enable/disable
macros is displayed, select "Enable macros." Enable or disable macros in the same
manner as when outputting the proposal file.

7-19. Outputting Actual Cooling/Heating Schedule to Excel

controller AG-150A or AE-200E(A).

box, and drag and drop it in the Drag & Drop box in the Centralized controller field.

It can be located only when the host system controller is AG-150.

On the LAN wiring screen, you can set the conditions for outputting the skeleton diagram of

Connect the controllers through hubs.

9-1. Input Screen

(1) Component box


To locate any hub or PC or any controller located on Control View or EC Assignment View,
drag and drop it from this box.
(2) Frame for location
A place where a hub or a controller can be located is indicated with a broken-line square. To
locate a hub or a controller, drop it in this place.

To locate a PC, drag and drop the icon of the PC from the component box. The PC can be
located only in the frame displayed as "Drag & Drop a PC or Hub." When it is dropped, the
following dialog will be displayed. Input the data, and click the OK button to locate it.

(1) Symbol
Input the symbol of the PC to be located.
(2) Name
Input the name of the PC to be located.
(3) IP address
Input the IP address of the PC to be located.
(4) Use UPS
Select whether to locate an UPS for the PC. If this box is checked, an UPS will be
connected to the PC at the time of CAD output.
(5) Use printer
Select whether to locate a printer for the PC. If this box is checked, a printer will be
connected to the PC at the time of CAD output.

9-3. Location of hub


To locate a hub, drag and drop the hub from the component box. Hubs can be located in all
frames for location. However, cascade connection in 4 stages or more is not allowed. When
a hub is dropped, the following dialog will be displayed. Input the data, and click the OK
button to locate the hub.

Input the symbol of the hub to be located.
(2) Number of port
Select the number of ports of the hub to be located. One of 5, 8, 16 and 24 ports can be
selected.
(3) Name
Input the name of the hub to be located.

The controllers located on Control View and EC Assignment View are located in
"Centralized/Expansion controller" in the component box. Drag and drop a controller from
this box to locate it.
Controllers can be located only in empty frames for location.
When a controller is dropped, the following dialog will be displayed. Input the data, and click
the OK button to locate the controller.

(1) Symbol
The symbol of the dropped controller is displayed. Change the symbol correctly if
necessary.
(2) Model
The model name of the controller to be located is displayed.
(3) Name
The name of the controller to be located is displayed. When a controller located on the
control design screen is located, the centralized system name is displayed. Change the
name if necessary.
(4) IP address
The IP address of the controller to be located is displayed. Change the IP address if
necessary.
(5) Use BACnet
This item is displayed only when AE-50 or AE-200 has been located. However, it is not
displayed when AE-200 has been located from the Centralized controller area on the
expansion controller screen. To connect AE-50/AE-200 to BACnet, check this box.

9-11. Moving to Another Screen


To move to Piping View or Control View, select the menu of the desired screen from the
Switch menu. The screen can be switched also with the navigation bar.
