were given to the related people in DBHRD.

Exhibition of Dump Truck Simulator
@CONEXPO2023 (Las Vegas, USA)
The dump truck simulator was exhibited in the CONEXPO Komatsu
booth, which was held in Las Vegas from March 14th to 18th. The
simulator was installed next to HD465-8 and WA600-8 in the West Hall
of the convention center.
During CONEXPO, 300 people experienced and enjoyed the simulator
and we were able to receive comments such as “Cool!” and “Amazing!”.
Several users mentioned of the need of a wheel-loader simulator, to
which we advertised of it being released soon.
Komatsu-ORYX simulators work as if they are a real machine and
therefore highly rated. Starting from 2023, we will be promoting other
models such as wheel loader simulator and hydraulic excavator
simulator.
We will continue to promote KOMATSU training simulator all over the
world.
 OVERSEAS TRAINING

GD955-7 new product introduction

at Arizona Proving Ground

The GD955-7 new product introduction was held at Arizona Proving Ground in March, with a total of 10
participants, including 8 from KAC and 2 from SMS equipment. The GD955-7 is a full model change and
successor to GD825A-2, featuring a 18ft blade and increased machine size, as well as the first
implementation of KomVision on a motor grader. Participants were first given lectures about the
background of market introduction and how to use new functions, followed by a demonstration and test
drive of the machine. The auto differential lock and articulate automatic-neutral restoration were well-
received by the participants. We also received comments expressing that they will be focusing on
promoting this machine in the KAC region.
In addition, Techno Center is creating operator training materials for the GD955-7. The contents on
switches and monitors are uploaded to LMS/KGP, so please have a look.

6D125 Engine Rebuild Course

@Techno Training Center

Techno Training Center (TTC) has resumed ILT face-to-face training for overseas since this fiscal year.
In the first session, TTC conducted 6D125 Engine rebuild training, three representatives from the
Mongolian distributor participated. This course content included not only engine disassembly and
assembly, but also safety instruction, 5S, and parts evaluation. The trainees worked on a 4.5-day training
program.

The 20th Kenki Senka Course

The 20th Kenki Senka Course started in June 2023.

The Kenki Senka Course was launched with the aim “to Strengthen solution skills at service sites by
developing field leaders”. Including the students of Service Senka Course - the predecessor of the Kenki
Senka Course, a total of 509 students has completed the course. Many of them have succeeded as core
personnel in Komatsu’s distributors and dealers.
For FY2023, 8 service personnel are participateing from Komatsu Customer Support Japan Ltd. (KCSJ)
and owner-managed Distributors. They gather in class for one week each month to engage in training
and KAIZEN activity.

SPECIAL TOPIC

Spring Techno Center Kids Festival

The Spring Kids Festival was held in Techno Center. Although the number of visitors were limited due to
COVID-19 precautions, we received approximately 600 people during the 6 days the event was held.
The visitors enjoyed the demonstration and well as getting the chance for an up-close look at the
machines.
Some new updates this year included the dump truck simulator and a new demonstration using the
HD785 where visitors had the opportunity to see the machines moving from a close distance. Visitors
were able to not only get to know the feeling of moving the machines, but also got a look at the large
machine body and the power of engine sound.
We were able to see the smiling faces of the children enjoying the construction machines, and it ended
up being a successful event being able to promote Komatsu products to the general public.
 New 3DCG animation materials released in LMS

Wheel loader Advanced Joystick Steering System (AJSS)

Our latest addition to the LMS is an immersive 3DCG video, showcasing the remarkable Advanced
Joystick Steering System (AJSS) found in our cutting-edge middle-size and large-size wheel loaders.
The video features the innovations in this new steering system such as the layout of the system
components, the comparison between the AJSS and the former electric joystick steering system, the
structure and function of the various parts of the system, and the system controls. The videos are now
posted in LMS.
 New cut-away model contents released in LMS

125 engine
This is a breakthrough in our training. This interactive material gives a very affordable option for anyone
to study the cut-away model views of our components without the need to invest in expensive cut-away
components. In LMS, one can just click the icons in the display and discover the layout of the various
parts and the internal sectional views of an actual 125 engine model. This content is now available in
LMS.

Lunch: Udon
Comment: Udon is a Japanese traditional
noodle, made from wheat flour and is thick
and soft. In Komatsu city, Udon has a
300-year history, and Udon made with
locally grown wheat in Komatsu city is
called "Komatsu Udon". You can try it at a
restaurant near TTC.

In Japan, July is officially the start of summer after the

rainy season.  Although summer in Japan is hot and
humid, there are events such as fireworks and
“omatsuri” (festivals) to look forward to.
