a) All piping shall be stacked on sleeper with proper stoppers provided. Depending on
size, each stack shall remain within the maximum permitted height. There shall be no
mixing of pipe allowed in each stack. Piping shall not be stacked higher than 2 meter.
a) All materials are under the responsibility of the supervisor on duty at each of the floor
level.
b) All material must be collected and returned to the designated storage area after working
hours and properly secured and locked.
a) All equipment and materials will be handled in such a manner as not to damage the item
and hence its performance.
b) The material delivered to site must be traced to the purchase order (P.O.) raised and this
must be verified against the Delivery Order (D.O.).
c) All material must be labeled properly and this must be checked against the P.O. and
D.O. description.
d) Quantity count must be carried out to ensure no discrepancies of each of the item
stipulated.
e) Sampling inspection must be carried out to ensure the quality of the material delivered
is in compliance to the requirement. This shall include type of packing, dimension,
colour, material, coating, value added work, etc.
a) This method statement provides steps for the installation of CCTV security system in
order for operatives to understand the work to be executed, how it is to be executed while
making references to other technical standards and relevant standards.
b) This method statement covers Installation of CCTV system including brackets, supports
wiring & accessories etc.
d) The subcontractor shall submit shop drawings accompanied by full technical details and
literature together with samples of fittings and materials (if applicable) for inspection
and approval by the Engineer.
e) Room clearance & proper access shall be provided as per approved program.
Location/area shall be ready for site installation. Prior to the installation, the area where
the items to be installed shall be inspected to ensure architectural works and finishing
are complete and area is free from dust.
f) Wall or ceiling mounting of the product should follow the instructions for the mount
used and use approved installation practice appropriate for the structure and material the
mount is being attached to.
g) Prior to the installation, check all cabling as per wiring detail drawings.
Mark the device / panels location and leave enough length of cable at both ends for
termination.
h) During installation, drilling operation is required on the wall with proper marking. Check
the power and control wiring at panel end. At panel end make the proper insulation to
the wiring to protect from cable damage.
1.05 Installation of CCTV Equipment
1. Preparation
a) Prepare all the materials, equipment and tools that will be necessary during the execution
time.
b) Drawing for installation shall be approved and shall be coordinated with other services.
c) Room clearance & proper access shall be provided as per approved program.
d) Location/area shall be ready for site installation. Prior to the installation, the area where
the items to be installed shall be inspected to ensure architectural works and finishing
are complete and area is free from dust.
a) Exact location of the CCTV camera shall be as per approved CCTV Installation layout
plan as well and to be coordinated at site to ensure easy access for maintenance in future.
b) Select a location to install the Camera and prepare the ceiling and/or ceiling tile.
c) All the above false ceiling CCTV should have the facility to access the IP Data point for
future maintenance.
d) For the CCTV which needs to be fixed on the false ceiling mark with exact dimension
to make hole by false ceiling contractor.
e) Attach the template that comes with the Camera to the ceiling and then drill a hole
according to the diameter hole marked on the template. Drop down the camera cables
through the hole. Drill another small hole for a screw to secure the camera.
f) Remove camera lower dome cover by turning the cover counter clockwise.
g) Pull all the field wiring and power and video connectors.
h) Plug the coaxial cable into the RJ-59 port on the side of the camera.
i) Install the support back plate. Mount the camera on the ceiling using the appropriate
hardware.
j) Adjust the Monitoring direction for the camera to adjust the lens in a desired direction.
a) Select a location to install the components and applicable mount as per approved CCTV.
b) Mark and drill the camera housing mounting base or PVC Extension bracket hole size
into the wall.
i. Drill the Camera Housing mounting base or PVC Extension bracket hole size into
the wall.
ii. If applicable, Fix Suitable PVC extension supports bracket into Concrete wall
(Behind Cladding wall)
i. Install the Camera Housing wall mounting base to the smooth vertical surface or
PVC extension bracket.
ii. If necessary, to prevent water damage, apply sealant around the bolt holes between
the mount and mounting surface.
d) Pull the wires (Data and power) through the arm starting from the bottom of the
mounting plate; pull the wires out through the threaded opening at the bottom of the
arm.
e) Adjust the monitoring direction for the camera to adjust the housing in a desired
direction.
g) Plug the coaxial cable into the RJ-59 port on the side of the camera.
h) Secure the camera using camera housing and tighten the nuts on the studs.
1.06 Electrical Installation
a) The electrical installation, including the installation of the control panel, will be
undertaken in accordance with the approved shop drawings and the equipment
manufacturers technical specifications and recommendations, using materials approved
by the Engineer.
b) All control panels will be assembled and tested off site, with approved components
arranged and installed in accordance with the approved shop drawings.
c) All wiring will be installed using the correct type, size and rating of cable, in cable
trunking, conduits or on cable trays with flexible PVC conduits using for connection to
equipment where required. All holes will be plugged and sealed and all trunking,
conduits and trays will be earth bonded. All circuits and panels will be clearly identified
and labeled.
a) Supply and install all necessary cable support systems and miscellaneous
equipment.
b) The cable support systems, shall be ascertained from survey, etc showing available
routes. Cable routes shall be coordinated with all other services, including
structural features, plumbing and sprinkler piping, lighting fittings, air conditioning
ducts and piping, building electrical services etc, normally encountered in this type
of project. Close liaison shall be maintained on site with other trades to ensure
compatibility of proposed routes.
c) The installation shall allow for all necessary brackets, off-sets etc. to suite the
installation.
b) Cables shall be installed in such a manner that adequate spacing is maintained for fixing
and for heat dissipation. Bending radius of cables shall not be less than the
manufacturer’s recommendation and in any case shall not be less than 6 times the overall
cable diameter. Cables shall run straight for at least 300mm immediately prior to
entering switchboards and other equipment.
c) Single core cables containing a maximum of three power conductors and one earthing
conductor may be of flat configuration. Cables containing four or more power
conductors shall be of circular configuration or other approved type. Cables 6mm² and
above shall be terminated to bolts or studs, using soldered or compression type lugs.
d) Compression lugs, or ferrules shall be desgined for the type of cable and shall be
installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations using the correct
compression tool and die for such lugs or ferrules.
e) Protective sheath covering on all PVC insulated and sheathed cables shall be maintained
between outlet boxes, conduits or equipment enclosures.
1.09 Safety
All work will be planned and undertaken in accordance with the Project Safety Plan. All
activities will be undertaken with safety in mind ensuring that Personal Protective Equipment
are being used at all times.
1.10 Environmental
All work will be planned and undertaken in accordance with the Project Environment
Management Plan.

2.0 EXECUTION
The Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) System shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer’s installation instructions.
i. Ship the CCTV main hardware (server, workstation, NVR, network switch, UPS),
client software and documentation to Security Room.
iv. Connect, boot and test network connectivity of the CCTV main server and NVR
(Network Video Recorder) with new IP address.
v. Install, bring up and test network connectivity of the CCTV client software at
Security.
i. Install, bring up and test network connectivity of the CCTV software at Security
Room.
iii. Invite clients for user acceptance test to verify the application thoroughly for
functionalities, operations and controls.
iv. Perform training to clients after getting acceptance approval from clients.
2.03 TESTING AND INSPECTION
i. The Contractor shall conduct a complete inspection and test of all installed CCTV
security monitoring equipment.
ii. The Contractor shall provide staff to test all devices and all operational features of
the system for witness by the Owner’s representative.
iv. A testing checklist shall be provided to indicate that the tests have been performed
and all devices are operational.
2.04 TRAINING
a) While the system is being developed, the training plan will be compile. The plan will
include training syllabus, schedule and materials.
b) The training will be conducted in a few sessions. Each session is targeted for different
group of people.
c) For system administration, the training will focus on the overall and in-depth technical
knowledge of the system such as system design, database structure, cabling topology and
others.
d) For user scope, the training mainly will focus on the system functionality and operability.
