CROCHET PATTERN “Photo Frame SUPERMAN”

Photo Frame SUPERMAN – size 19 cm (7,5 in), if using sport weight yarn (Sport (12 wpi), 2 : Fine).

Material:

 hook 2.0 or 2.5 mm  scissors

 soft stuffing  needle for sewing
 photo 10х15 cm  yellow felt for icon
 cardboard (2 details)  red felt for a symbol and a cloak

beige 50 /160 55% cotton / 45% acrylic

35 – YarnArt Jeans
yellow 50 /160 55% cotton / 45% acrylic

243 – ALIZE Cotton

Gold blue 100 /330 55% cotton / 45% acrylic

Abbreviation:

sc - single crochet st(s) – stitch(es)

dc - double crochet sc3tog - single crochet 3 stitches together
ch – chain sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase [] x …… - repeat the instructions in brackets for
dec – decrease (x) the indicated number of times

Recommendations for you:

 Of course you can choose other yarns – the choice of yarn is completely up to you and your
personal taste.
 Work in continuous rounds. Do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
 It would be wise to use a stitch marker and place it in the first stitch of each round to mark the
beginning of it.
 You can easily sew the toy together by leaving a long tail of yarn on each piece.
 Before you sew a part, use needle markers to perfectly place the part in the right place.

HEAD (2 Parts):

Part One : round base for photo frame

With beige yarn, ch 12, close in a ring with Sl st.
Working in rounds. Do not join at end of each round.
Rounds 1 - 88: crochet around, 11 sc

Make sure you crochet pretty tight all

the way to prevent getting large stretching
holes between the stitches so the stuffing
doesn‘t get out.
Leave a long tail for sewing.

TIP: Do not forget to

gradually add a soft filler.

Bend into a ring and sew as shown.

You can also insert a wire to make
the circle strong.

(sew parts 1 & 2 together)

Attach the head to the cardboard, draw a circle

and cut - circle diameter 10 cm (When your photo
frame is ready, insert the cardboard, for the strength
of the structure).

Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew to the head.

Add a soft filler.

EARS (Make Two):

Beige yarn,
1: 6 sc into a magic loop
2: [inc] x 6 (12)
3: [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
4-5: 18 sc (2 rows)

Fold the ear in half and sew

with a needle.
Crochet the second ear.

Shield - Symbol:

Shield - yellow felt

Draw on the white paper the model of the

shield.

Attach the model to the yellow felt, draw

the shield with the pen.

Cut the shield with the scissors.

The shield is ready.

Symbol - red felt

Draw on the white paper the model of the

symbol.

Attach the model to the red felt, draw

the symbol with the pen.

Cut the symbol with the scissors.

The symbol is ready.

Using a glue gun, glue the icon first and then

the symbol.

CAPE:

Take a red felt in size 16x10 cm (6x4 inch) and a red thread.
Sew a cloak as shown in the photo.

Use the needle markers to choose the right

position for the cloak (as shown in the photo).

Insert the previously cut cardboard.

Take a photo size 10х15 cm, crop to size 10х10 cm
(crop the corners so that the photo is round).
Squeeze the photo and insert it from the front.
