Time: 25 mins

M1: So tell me about your course & why you chose it? How many students in your
batch.

Told them bout the sub, its scope and how my batch has 28 civilians and 15
cadets from Indian Navy.

M1: what're the cadets doing here. Explain the process.

Explained how after NDA and one year of training at INA they can choose Naval
Architecture and chill for a few years in cusat (my uni)

M1: (since I mentioned abt navy)

So what's your take on India's new Agnipath scheme?
Explained the scheme and how it can reduce the portion given to pensions and
income in the defence budget (which is half), so more amount can be alloted to
defence modernisation.

M1: So the scope of agniveers after their tenure?

Added the announcements by corporates like Tata and mahindra to accept

agniveers.

M1: Does your coursemates in the Navy support it?

Told they support it.

M1: what's GDP? (since I wrote Indian economy as one of my interests)

Told but didn't add the term 'geographical boundary' so was more like GNP
definition. ( screwed up)
M1: What's GNP then? Ever heard of 'hindu growth rate'? ( since I added how
india's gdp grew 10 times in the last 30 yrs)

Cudnt answer both lol.

M1: Heard of G20?

Gave few words on it.

M1: Why's India President of G20 this year? What can we gain from the
presidency?

Told its by chance and how we cud use it for friendly ties w non G20
members and showcase newly build infra.

M1(unsatisfied) : only the president has the power to invite other countries to
G20? Are you sure?

Confusedly said yes based on what I've read.

M1: asked me if India's a poor country or not and it's rankings on the hunger
index.

Told its almost at the bottom ( but cudnt substantiate exactly why) and said
better phrase than poor would be lower middle income.

M1: what's ur definition of research? Why do u like it? (since i added passion
for research in SoP)

Told smt random and one journal I read on IIMB website.

M2: Would you be an agniveer if you had the opportunity now?

Politely declined as my passions were diff altogether.

M2: what are your passions?

Told my passion ( they laughed out loud as I named way too many interests
lol)
M3: So you've written about stock market trading in ur SoP what're your trading
strategies?

Cudnt remember much so told a simple moving average strategy.

M2: Give me the technical term on why you can profit in trading faster than
investing.

Got confused so repeated risk reward ratio lol

M2: It's Leverage.

Okay. (Wtf it was too basic)

M3: you've traded options? What are options why not just trade a normal stock
instead of options and futures?

Defined options and talked abt how volatile the premium in options is and high
risk v reward.

Looked at each other and said we are done. Overall very chill and all 3 always
had a devilish smile on their face lmao.

IIMB

Maybe around 20mins, 2 panelists - 1M(Maybe Economics), 1F(Finance)

Casual conversation by F, where are you working from, have you come to
Bangalore.

F : Explain _your_ role/contribution

F : why every year companies bring out new variants of phones?
F : upgrades can be provided in older models? Why new?
F : Why MBA? Give specific instance
F : Instance where you felt I could have done this better if I had MBA
knowledge? (Its okay if there isnt)
F : What’s your dream company?
F : You can work there now as well, how will MBA degree help?
M : Problems working women face in the industry (lots of discussion on
this)
M : You mentioned for particular segments, can you tell a more general
problem?
M : do you agree companies play on people’s greed to earn more, in terms
of buying new phones? (Said would have had more questions if I disagreed)
M : Why do you have low grades in undergraduate?
F : Hobbies? Cut answer and asked any other hobby?
F : Books you read recently? (One cross-question)
F : One thing learnt from India Unbound (said non-alignment in answer)

F : Any questions for us?
F : Will you be able to study again after working for this long?
F : It was nice talking to you, thank you. You can leave.

IIMB. Started exactly on time. Two panelists P1&P2.

Background: Engg., 2.5 yrs exp(IOCL), 1 yr UPSC prep.

P1: Show ur id
Me: showed PAN Card ( This PAN has become my pain for next 5-10mins)
P1: So everybody who has PAN pays income tax? Everybody who pays
income tax has PAN? What if I dont have PAN and earn income?
Me: Answered.
P1: Why shud I have so many cards...why cant I have a single card
Me: We can. We are getting there by linking everything.
P1: So we shud have a universal Aadhar and there is no need to even have
names for kids. Just give them a number and thats it. The first three numbers
can be the nick name.
Me: Yes Sir, we can bring a law like that but society will not accept it.
P1: Society will eventually accept, just like they did with vaccines. Intially they
were reluctant but once vaccines are available everybody flocked.
Me: There are emotions involved in naming sir. We cant just force people to
accept a number.
P1: There is nothing called emotions. Ppl who talk abt emotions are the ones
who want to benefit out of the emotions of masses.
Me: Yes sir, ppl will protest such over centralisation and they will go to courts
like they did with aadhar privacy issues.
P1: So what did court say there?
Me: it said ppl have right to privacy.
P1: ya thats it. There is nothing wrong with Aadhar, its so perfect and it can be
used widely.
Me: (pretty irritated by now) Sir, but if you do that ppl will throw you out of the
govt. (I literally said that to him)
P1: Then I will become an autocrat. Whats the point of these elections anyway.
They happen all the time. Nonsense...
🤷
Me: (dont know what to say)
P1: Ok lets move on. Then he asked me questions from my non core subjects
from engg. And some math.
Me: couldnt answer his questions. Wasnt prepared.
P1: So this is a serious remark, how do u rate urself in math
Me: I am good at stats, prob, and a bit of calculus..the other things I need to
revise sir...
P1: how do u differentiate inside an integral..
Me: couldnt answer..

Over to P2: She asked me what wud be my plans if not MBA, what role do I see
myself in after MBA, some workex related questions...

Overall..It started badly and I got asked questions in the subjects in which I
was not comfortable. It went badly.. After the P1 debacle, P2 already made her
mind and I wasnt asked many questions. Whatever was asked by P2, I
answered well. But, I didnt lose my composure and maintained my confidence.
Its very important in case you have to face such profs.
Btw, I searched and got to know that P1 was Anshuman Tripathi, PhD from MIT
Sloan and PGP from IIM Cal.
