Vietnam is a socialist country under the leading of Communist Party; therefore, the

current legal system of Vietnam has its own history and tradition.
In general, Vietnamese legal ideologies were under influenced by various legal
ideologies and can be divided into four periods such as: feudal legal system; French
colonialist; Soviet Union legal traditional; and the legal system in period of integration
and globalization. However, this article only focuses on the legal system from 1975 up
to present because the current legal system of Vietnam has significantly changed since
introducing Doimoi (renovation) in 1986.'
