MODULE-1
Define scientific research

 Distinguish between the different types

of scientific research
 State the different criteria, steps, and
methods of scientific research
 Explain the terms “research design”
and “research methodology”
 Outline the various research ethics and
misconduct.
Personal learning from module-1

Research is all about learning things by a manner in

which data collection, analysing and evaluating is done
to find a result to gain some knowledge or to confirm
our pre-existing knowledge.
Fundamental research

1. Basic research- it is a type of research which aims to

increase our knowledge or practical findings.

2. Applied research-it involved a development of scientific

theories that are existing or finding a particular solution of a
problem in a real world.

3.Evaluative research-it is based n evaluating some decisions

and some things that researcher wants to evaluate.

Research design- it is the procedure in which a researcher

analyses the information and make the research.

Research methodology:- is the process of making research with

the help of question and solution to its answer by collecting
data and using it for research.

Scientific research ethics:- it is basically to conduct research

without hurting anyone views

Research misconduct: - it’s about the wrong ways of

conducting research.
MODULE-2
 Explain how to formulate your research
problem
 State how to review the literature
 Differentiate between the terms: concepts and
variables, as well as general and specific
objectives
 Describe how to design your research
 Distinguish between the various types of study
design and sampling strategies
 Recognize the importance of your research
proposal
 Explicate how to write your research
proposal.
Personal learning from module-2
To formulate the research problem, we need to have some problem or
enthusiasm regarding some situation or particular thing to know
more about

Reviewing literature in such a manner that we need to understand the

situation by reading and analysing the whole situation with the help
of personal understanding.
Study design include 3 types
1.survey research
2.experimental research
3.case studies

Types of sampling
1.random sampling-samples are selected from the pool randomly
2.non-random sampling-samples are selected on non-random basis
from the pool.
3.mixed sampling-this type includes both types random and non-
random.

IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH PROPOSAL

Research proposal have the importance of displaying the overview of
whole research to be understanding the situation of what all research
is all about.
MODULE-3
State the various sources and methods of data
collection
Differentiate between the various sources and methods
of data collection
Describe how to confirm the validity and reliability of
your instruments and tools
Recognize how to process and validate your raw data
Distinguish between the various methods of data
analysis
Enumerate the various methods of data presentation
Explain how to write your research report effectively
Personal learnings from module-3
Primary data collection-self collected
Secondary data collection-collected by others
To check upon the reliability test the
