Notes Construction
You will start by working the Front and Back Hems separately, then join them to work in the round.
Next, you will work to Underarms, where you will then shape the Front and Back separately, then
rejoin in the round to work the Collar.

Worked over an even number of stitches
Row 1 (right side): *Knit 1 through the back loop (tbl), p1, repeat from * to end of row.
Row 2 (wrong side): *K1, p1 tbl, repeat from * to end of row.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for stitch pattern.

SLIP STITCHES
Slip stitches knitwise with yarn in back unless directed otherwise.

Pattern Back Hem
WORK RIBBING
Cast 85 (93, 101, 109, 117) (125, 133, 141, 149) stitches onto 24-inch circular needles. Do not join for
working in the round.
Set-Up Row (wrong side): K1, *p1 through the back loop (tbl), k1, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p1
tbl, p1.
Row 1 (right side): Slip 1 (see Special Instructions), *k1 tbl, p1, repeat from * to end of row.
Row 2 (wrong side): Slip 1, *p1 tbl, k1, repeat from * to last 2 stitches, p1 tbl, p1.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 4 inches from cast-on edge, ending with a wrong-side row.

CONTINUE BACK HEM


Row 1 (right side): Slip 1, [k1 tbl, p1] 4 times, knit to last 9 stitches, [p1, k1 tbl] 4 times, p1.
Row 2 (wrong side): Slip 1, [p1 tbl, k1] 4 times, purl to last 9 stitches, [k1, p1 tbl] 4 times, p1.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 6½ (6½, 6½, 6½, 7) (7, 7, 7, 7) inches from cast-on edge,
ending with a wrong-side row.
Cut yarn and set aside.

Front Hem
With 32- or 40-inch circular needles, work as for Back Hem, but do not cut yarn.

Collar

In this section, you will rejoin Front and Back
Joining Round (right side): With right side of Back facing you, use 16-inch circular needles to slip 1,
to work Collar in the round.
