PRINTING AND ASSEMBLING

This pattern is available in A4 and Letter

PRINTING:

Download and save your pattern.

Open using a PDF reader.
Before printing make sure your size option is set to
“actual size”. This way you’ll print the pattern with its
accurate measurements.

To check if the pattern is being printed to scale print just

the first page and measure the Test Square. If the sizes
correspond you’re good to go.

 INSTRUCTIONS

The seam allowance on this pattern is of 1 cm/3/8” and it’s already included in the pattern pieces.

 

Apply interfacing to the wrong side of the bag shell pattern piece.

1 Fold the upper edge of the lining pocket 1 cm towards the wrong side and then fold again 1 cm inwards

(the raw edge will be copncealed within the fold). Topstitch 0.5 cm away from the folded edge.

Then fold the remaining raw edges 1 cm towards the wrong side.

2 Place the lining pocket on top of the

lining bag matching the placement of your

bag lining paper pattern piece.

The wrong side of the lining pocket should

be facing the right side of the bag lining.

Topstitch the lining pocket 0.5 cm away from

the edge leaving the upper part open.

3 Fold the bag lining in half and sew the

sides leaving an opening of 10 cm on one of

the side seams.

This opening will later be used

to turn the bag inside out.

4 Lay the side seams flat. This will create a triangular shape

in the bottom of your bag. Press the side seams open and sew

a seam 4 cm away from the edge opf the traingle. This seam

should be perpendicular to your existing side seam.

Repeat on the other side of the bag.

 5 Cut away the excess fabric. 6 Fold the bag shell and sew the sides.

7 Repeat steps 4 and 5 and then turn the bag shell to the right side.

8 To create the boxy shape fold the sides

of the bag creating parallel lines to the side

seam. These paralel lines shoul start at every

bottom corner.

Topstitch the folds youve created 0.5 cm

away from the edge.

9 Fold the inside straps and scrunchie straps and sew along the raw edge creating 4 tubes (2 short

and 2 long ones).

10 Turn the straps inside out.

11 Feed the inside strap through the scrunchie strap. This will create the scrunchie effect.

Then sew the opening closed making sure that you catch the inside strap in your seam.

12 Place the straps right sides facing

with the bag shell following the guides

shown in the image to the right.

Sew the straps 5 cm away from the edge.

13 Insert the magnetic snap button in

the middle of the straps and 2 cm away

from the edge.

14 Put the bag shell inside the bag lining

risht sides facing and pin them together all

around the raw edge. Sew them together.

15 Turn the bag inside out using the gap

you left on the side seam of the lining bag.

Close the side seam.

Press the edge of the bag to create a crisp line.
