Paris discovered she was pregnant and had no intention of becoming a mother. She scheduled an
abortion shortly after learning that she was expecting. Then something small and steady changed
her mind. It was the thumping of her baby’s heart over the ultrasound. Once she heard that magical
life-changing sound, she knew that someone special was growing inside of her, and Paris knew
she couldn’t terminate the pregnancy. We are happy to announce that Paris gave birth to her son
Marcellus on August 30th, 2022, weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces. He is now eight months old,
crawling, and sports a beautiful full head of dark hair. It’s a courageous act that women go through,
creating and growing an actual human being in their bodies. We at STRIPLV want to offer our sincerest
congratulations to Paris, and we wish her her first Happy Mother’s Day.

Honor all the mothers that are in your life. I know I won the lottery with the mother that I have, and I

omplexity is a beautiful trait in an actor.
It enables them to reach the furthest corners of creativity in
producing a landscape that makes them brilliant to watch.
The trouble with complexity often comes with the cameras are
turned off for the simple reason that the intricacy for which they
make great movies stays turned on.
If anyone has discovered this across a tumultuous career and
personal life, it’s actor Nicolas Cage. From incredible highs on-
screen, Con Air, Face/Off, Gone in 60 Seconds, City of Angels
– to devastating lows off it – financial ruin, four failed marriages
– the 59-year-old Long Beach-born actor and film-maker is a
high-roller whose own life would provide a great script for a
box office blockbuster.
have had an incredible career. I count myself as one of the very luckiest people on
the planet. What do I need to change?
STRIPLV: Isn’t it true that joy and disappointment come to all of us no matter
what lives we lead?
CAGE: That is true. It’s all relative. Having money or being on the big screen,
or being able to drive a car really fast does not make you immune to the things
that make human beings sad, nor do those talents or possessions make people
perennially happy. Over time, I think the world has a firmer grip on health and
well-being and what really puts people in mindsets where they feel accomplished,
and it’s nothing really to do with anything material.
STRIPLV: Moving on, over your career, you have played characters formed from
both fiction and biographical roles. What do you prefer?
CAGE: Well, any time you can get the opportunity to meet someone who was
there at the time of something biographical, it’s a Godsend. They can describe any
experience to you, and that will make your performance better. Sometimes, I just
listen to what they are saying, and I let the words swirl around in my head, with
me playing the conversation over and over in my mind. I sleep on it. I try to let it
resonate in a dream and then take the form of visuals. I remember speaking to a
guy for the film USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage. A total of 300 men sank with
the ship, and almost 600 died floating on the water, waiting to be rescued. This
was the single greatest loss of life in the history of the US Navy. He remembers
he was holding tight onto a potato which he had when the ship was torpedoed by
the Japanese during World War II. He said, other than that potato, the only other
thing he possessed was his faith. He said it was almost as if should he let go of that
potato; it would be a signal that he may also lose his life. So, he held onto that
potato until he was found and brought to safety. You cannot stimulate that sort
of insight from nothing. A biographical role has all that added decoration around
it. Though with that comes pressure. It’s not like it’s a blank canvas, nor that the
canvas is even your own. It’s someone else’s. You have to stick to the blueprint of
a person, or you’ll have everyone coming out telling you what a poor job you’ve
done, family members, close friends, it could be historians. You have to accept you
will always be critiqued from every point of view.

STRIPLV: So you do feel pressure when you act? Because you

STRIPLV: You seem to be on another upward curve with Renfield. Would you
agree?
CAGE: It’s a movie that shifts expectations, and if there’s one thing I have learned
throughout my career, it’s that expectation is everything. As an actor, sometimes
it’s the lead-up rather than the delivery, and to be a part of projects that get
people talking – for the right reasons – makes me feel alive. Renfield really ticked
every box for me. The script is funny but fearsome, the cast was brilliant, and the
genre is one I’ve probably not been in enough. I look back on some of the stuff I’ve
done, and I think sometimes I’ve stayed in the same circles too long, and that’s
easy to do. I want to move out from that again now.
STRIPLV: So, are you philosophical about your career?
CAGE: I think you have no choice but to be philosophical. I would rather be that
than anything else. I would rather take a long view over the things that have
happened because that means I have processed them. I don’t want to be that
person wishing for a time machine so I can go back and repair things or make
different decisions. That’s not an option, nor would I want it to be. We live and
die by our decisions, whether or not they end up being good ones. In the whole, I

NESSA BARRETT - “young forever”
Nessa Barrett is kneeling in a field in the middle of the night.
She looks like an angel as massive, white wings protrude from
her back. As she flashes a stoic yet angelic gaze, it appears she’s
glowing. A snapshot of this moment displays on the album art
of the singer-songwriter’s Warner Records debut album, “young
forever.” “It looks pure, but there’s a darkness within it, and it
seems a little eerie,” says Nessa of the cover. The layered senti-
ment also describes her sound and the artist, whose edgy, gothic
pop is grounded in stories about heartache, mental health, and
accountability.

Writing and singing have always been the saving grace that
helped Barrett feel less alone in the world and less alone with her
thoughts as she battled her own mental health struggles, which
include bipolar personality disorder and an eating disorder. While
growing up in New Jersey, Barrett, who began developing her
voice and performance skills by singing in a choir and becoming
active in drama club, had an extremely rough childhood riddled
with abuse. “I had to grow up fast because I ran away from home
and came out to LA when I was 17,” says the artist, who recorded
her first song when she was just four years old and whose album
title “young forever” speaks to an ideal world where there is no
pain or suffering. “When I’m able to put my feelings into songs
and people are able to relate to me, it helps.”

Whereas Barrett’s 2021 EP pretty poison was an evolutionary

metamorphosis to her becoming a rising star, “young forever”
represents her great artist awakening. She’s found the confidence
and comfort in her unique sound, exploring the creative possi-
bilities of her talent while embracing her internal and external
conflicts and taking bleak thoughts and expressing them bravely
and vulnerably to help spread awareness. “I like the darkness in
things,” she says. “I talk about a lot of things my generation is
struggling with on this album.” On the moody pop-punk single
“tired of california,” the melody is reminiscent of Suzanne Vega’s ’90s classic “Tom’s
Diner” and similarly explores the longing for connections to other kindred spirits.
Her sultry voice blends seamlessly with the puncturing drums and sharp electric
guitars that entice throughout the track. “I’m so tired of California, I’m so tired of
LA/ Where the real thing comes as often as the California rain,” sings Barrett, who
lists Lauryn Hill, the Beatles, Adele, Miguel, and Aerosmith among her influences.
Produced by Evan Blair, “young forever” offers meticulously crafted production to
accompany Barrett’s ethereal vocals. “I take the production as seriously as I do the
lyrics,” says Barrett, who often writes songs while sitting in a dark room before she
goes to bed. “Everything revolves around the mood and emotion coming through
the song.” The psychological thriller-themed bop “madhouse” deliciously weaves
synth with Barrett’s manic melody. Elsewhere on the airy plea “dear god,” Barrett
aimed to evoke “What it felt like when people felt the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost,”
she says. The track nods to her Puerto Rican Catholic upbringing, during which she
saw family members “speak in tongues” and “dance and shake” at church.
On “young forever”, Barrett opens up about her mental health struggles. “love-
bomb” finds her singing “specifically about borderline personality disorder and how
I struggle with BPD,” she says. “The song’s based on how I love bomb the ones I
love after getting out of an episode where I treat them like shit because I’m strug-
gling. Growing up, I was very ashamed of my struggles, so the second I got a
platform, I knew what I had to do with it because I didn’t want anyone to feel the
way I felt - alone.”

Punctuating her grit-glam marvel, for which she draws inspo from films by Tim
Burton and John Waters, Barrett’s music has intrinsically always been about em-
powering people who feel isolated. “When I put everything on paper and write
how I’m feeling and form it into lyrics and make something that’s so negative and
painful for me in my head into a creative song that’s now something beautiful, it’s
very therapeutic,” says the singer. Case in point: Barrett’s lovesick 2021 EP pretty
poison, which she dropped on National Suicide Prevention Day. The release date
was significant because, as a teen, Barrett attempted to take her own life. “A lot of
my songs revolve around mental health and what I struggle with,” says the singer,
whose 2021 track “la di die,” which was produced by Travis Barker and featured
jxdn, also tackled suicide.

Barrett admits many of her tracks have “Different meanings to me now” following
the death of her best friend, Tik-Tok star Cooper Noriega. “Cooper was my biggest
fan,” says Barrett, who dedicated her single “die young” to Noriega. “I feel like now,
more so, I have a lot of responsibilities to not only share my story but his.” With

to defy gravity. Guests can strike poses for the camera while radically changing the
way they view the world. The Paradox Sofa exhibit will also give the impression of
a glitch in the system. Visitors will wonder if bodies are magically split in two or if
multiple people are lounging on the couch simultaneously. All exhibits will touch
the hearts and minds of those who wish to truly challenge their senses and ways
of thinking.

The museum will also include the Paradox Boutique, where visitors can purchase
souvenirs, games, clothing, accessories, and gadgets exuding paradox. The collec-
tion of fun, entertaining, and educational products has been curated to challenge
perspectives to exercise the brain.

Founded by the Paradox Group, the Las Vegas destination joins two other Paradox
Museum locations in the United States and five in Europe; more than two dozen
additional locations are developing through 2024. During construction, it will take
seven people approximately three weeks to install the elaborate exhibits.

ayden Panettiere is back with less of

a bang and more of a gentle acclimatization of the industry,
its possibilities, and, at the same time, its challenges.

The actress reprises her role as Kirby Reed in the Scream

franchise with the release of its sixth installment. It’s her
first serious work for the former Heroes star in almost
five years. An extended period of downtime has proved
necessary for Panettiere. She has spent much-needed
time with daughter Kaya, whose father Wladimir Klitschko
gained custody of, came to terms with some of the personal
issues that have followed her since her teenage years, and
most of all has rediscovered an ability to savor and enjoy
life.

The actress, also famous for her brilliant portrayal of

Juliette Barnes in the hugely successful country music
drama Nashville, is a New Yorker thrilled to be in the bright
lights. Yet, she returns someone more thoughtful and wiser.

Panettiere recently opened up about addiction to opioids

and alcohol and also detailed an abusive relationship that
she is now free from. She also suffered from postpartum
depression following the birth of her daughter in 2014.

For someone still so young, Panettiere is 33, and she has

been through a lot, though she still has much more to offer.
Audiences should be excited.

STRIPLV: It must be a great feeling to return to the cinema screen and play a
role you’re familiar with. Does it help you acclimate to a big year and a big restart
for you?
PANETTIERE: I think that it helps when there are familiar faces, yes. It has been
a big thing for me to get back up and get back into this world, and it’s exciting, but
in a way, it’s new territory for me. I don’t have the vices of before or the reliance
on certain people or things. I am much more about this being me, and relying
on me now, and that feels great. I feel like I have the opportunity to recalibrate,
restart and perhaps prove a few people wrong along the way. As far as Scream
goes, myself and (her character) Kirby are always pleased to see each other again.
(Laughs) I know her so well, and coming back to her is obviously much easier than
having to research for a new character. It helps, too that she is someone who has
already landed with the audience in a movie filled with nasty surprises. At least
there won’t be any in terms of Kirby’s character and style!
STRIPLV: Is it true that you pushed for the character to return?
PANETTIERE: Yes, I thought I should just give them a call and offer my services
as Kirby and see what they thought. I was so eager for them to say yes, and I’m
glad they did, so it’s exciting to see what fans think.
STRIPLV: What was it like being back on the set with some familiar faces, and
some new ones?
PANETTIERE: It’s an interesting dynamic when you come back and it’s a
combination of new and existing cast members. There’s a feeling of people trying
to work each other out, personally, as well as seeing what works professionally as
far as on-screen interactions and chemistry. It’s a cool dynamic, and I was thrilled
just to be around so many talented, beautiful people after being away from the
whole thing for so long. It’s a little like moving to a city you’ve, but most of the

neighbors have followed you, and you’re just trying to fit in again. There is a lot
that’s familiar and a lot that’s different.
STRIPLV: After David Arquette’s shocking demise in the last movie, the big
question is, how long do we get to see Kirby?
PANETTIERE: I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you, though, is that people
aren’t going to be disappointed by Kirby’s appearance in this one. Her sarcastic
and snarky manner is still there, despite the fact that her life seems to have taken
a certain turn, but the Woodsboro gang still has Kirby, and Kirby still has the
Woodsboro gang! Kirby is evidently older, but that means she’s also a lot wiser.
She’s got experience and resilience where perhaps she didn’t have it before.
STRIPLV: Do you see a lot of yourself in her, then?
PANETTIERE: I do. We have both been through a lot and are coming out the
other side. I think my longevity will outlast hers, though.
STRIPLV: Should we be expecting more gore and blood in this?
PANETTIERE: Oh, they’ve really ramped up the scares and the blood in this one.
When you’ve got a movie where people are trying to move out of a small town
and into a huge city like New York and think they’re going to be safe, that sets it
up great. That’s what keeps people coming back to these horror/slasher movies.
Some people just love being scared, and it’s almost like you can’t help yourself.
I’ve had a lot of danger and temptation in my life, and this follows a similar track.
STRIPLV: This is a significant step for you, having had some
difficult times, right?
PANETTIERE: Sure, it has been really difficult, and I didn’t
know when it was going to end. Sometimes, I actually have
to pinch myself and remember that this is all real, and I am
back working. Treatment was the only way I was going to get
better, but just as inspiring for me were some of the amazing
people I met, some with similar and some with very different
mindsets. It’s amazing to me how people who seem and feel
so different to yourself, you can actually have the greatest
shared empathy with.

lives to changing the world for the better. And then a celebrity does one thing, and
all of the sudden, it’s all over the news. It’s a powerful position to be in. I want to
use it to do something good and not useless.
STRIPLV: You’ve been in front of the camera since you were 11 months old. Can
you talk about growing up in the public eye? What’s that like?
PANETTIERE: It’s been an interesting life. It’s been everything I always thought.
And really, it’s everything I’ve ever done in my life. Yes, there are sacrifices to be
made, for sure. You don’t have the time you might want to have for yourself, but
at the end of the day, I am doing what many people dream of doing. The setbacks
are tough, but the rewards are great.
STRIPLV: What has changed about you in your time away?
PANETTIERE: I’ve always been a fiercely hard worker, but I’m coming to realize
now it doesn’t always have to be that way. It’s amazing to see how much hard
work and dedication payoffs at the end of the day, but also, you will still get a lot
done if you hold back if you preserve yourself for a while instead of pushing and
pushing. That’s been a real revelation for me of late. It feels like a real psychological
shift for me because it’s all I’ve ever known. My dad was a lieutenant in the Fire
Department in New York, and my mom has always been such a crazy hard worker.
That was something I was raised with. They taught me a great work ethic: “Don’t
slack off. Just stay with it.” It’s a habit I will retain, but not to the lengths I used to.
STRIPLV: What profession would you be doing if not acting?
PANETTIERE: I love animals, so I think I would be doing something in that area.
There is not much else that makes me happier. I am hoping to open an animal
sanctuary later in my life. That is a big dream of mine.

STRIPLV: Your daughter spends time in Ukraine and is a part of the ongoing
conflict, yet you have been quick to come out and say how safe she is.
PANETTIERE: Yes, she is very safe in Ukraine at the moment with her dad and
his brother, who is the Mayor of Kyiv. Obviously, it’s a terrible situation, and that’s
why I launched a relief fund. Hoplon International helps to bring relief and aid to
all of the Ukrainian people who are fighting on the frontlines. People are able to
donate whatever they can afford to help make a difference and contribute to the

country’s fight. We take peace for granted, and then it can be snatched away from
you. Everyone deserves to live their life in peace.
STRIPLV: You were a child star. Do you harbor similar hopes for Kaya?
PANETTIERE: That will be up to her, ultimately. What I will say is the industry
has changed so much in the last generation, and you have to be stronger and
more resilient than ever. I came up at the time when all those young girls who
had broken through were getting in trouble, and that was the popular thing to do.
Everyone’s sitting there waiting for you to fall and watching you. I was raised very
well. I had great parents who instilled great morals in me and taught me how to
