Title: Optimizing Solar Power Efficiency

Abstract:
Solar power generation has emerged as a promising renewable energy source
with the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and
dependence on fossil fuels. The adoption of solar energy as a renewable and
sustainable alternative to traditional energy sources has surged in recent years.
However, maximizing the efficiency of solar power systems remains a critical
challenge for optimizing energy production and minimizing costs. In this study,
we propose a machine learning approach to enhance solar power efficiency by
tuning hyperparameters of regression models.
This study focuses on optimizing solar power efficiency through hyperparameter
tuning in machine learning models. We utilize regression algorithms to predict
solar power output based on input features such as weather data (temperature,
sunlight intensity, humidity), geographic coordinates, time of day, solar panel
characteristics (type, efficiency), and historical energy output. By tuning
hyperparameters such as learning rates, regularization parameters, tree depths,
and ensemble sizes, we aim to improve the accuracy and reliability of solar
power predictions.
Our methodology involves collecting and preprocessing data from weather
stations, solar energy databases, and sensors installed on solar panels. We split
the data into training and testing sets, train regression models using various
algorithms (e.g., linear regression, decision trees, random forests), and evaluate
model performance using metrics such as mean squared error, root mean
squared error, and coefficient of determination. Hyperparameter tuning is
performed using techniques like grid search, random search, or Bayesian
optimization to find the optimal combination of parameters that minimize
prediction errors.
In conclusion, our study highlights the potential of machine learning and
hyperparameter tuning techniques to advance the field of solar energy by
maximizing the efficiency of solar power systems and accelerating the transition
to a sustainable energy future.
