7:00 Classes! That's the worst part. Get up, get dressed and walk across the road to get to
college :( Then are those who participate in a daily **excursiont* by traveling by bus or
metro from far-off places. What can they do? They are students after all. "Teenage college
fun' seems like a **prank** after all, especially if you study at St. Joseph's University with
its **rigoroust* rules!
Arijeet is one such character, who on the first day of college, stood in **awe** as he
watched the stone structure and swanky marble floor. What's more, when he saw all the
pretty lasses, his face turned **crimsont** as he fancied some romantic notions.

"Where is your ID card? What, humanities student eh? All loafers, the whole lot of you"

He turned towards the source of noise to see a girl in glasses, head bent in **solemn**
respect. After the mean adult had walked away, she stuck her tongue out in a cheeky
manner as though to **provoke** the person again but then, adjusting her glasses, she
began walking away. Arijeet ran behind her and tapping her asked "Hey, are you a TPY
student"

"Yeah, I'm Ananya Roy. Why?"

"Oh nothing, Imissed the first week and just wanted to know where to go. You look like
you know your way around"
She gave him a half glance and said "Follow me, we have your General English class now,
it's already 5 mins late but Sir himself is usually late, so we might actually be early. Let's
go"
They ran to class and sure enough, Sir came whistling and waltzing in after them. Arijeet
waited thinking that the general **chattert* would die down but to his surprise, it continued
on for the next minute or so till Sir removed his phone out and said "Shh, attendance".
Once done, Sir shouted acrOss the room "Shrankhala, Insta time over, now is class time.
A girl in the corner **flinched** and quickly slid her phone into her bag. Following her, there
was a general **plagued** as many phones were noisily slid into their bags. "I knowI
sound like an uncle but you all are **engulfed** with your phones and the internet. If you
don't be careful, it will start **spewing** your life completely," he continued as he got his
laptop ready. "I know the general cold weather is a recipe for **\ethargy* but have a look
at this video to wake you up"

He played a song Arijeet was familiar with but before he could say anything, a boy asked
"Sir, isn't this Right in Two by Tool?" (What a suckup' thought Arijeet) "That's Nithin..
whispered Ananya. Somewhere while watching, someone **shouted* a loud "What the
hell!"

and that's Sameeksha..." Arijeet looked around. He was surprised to see that even
with all the music, there was a girl who slept with a *tranquil** look on her face. "Oh, that's
Prarthana. She hates morning classes the most. Sir has even often offered to bring her a
pillow"
After the song was over, there was a knock on the door. A girl stood there, with a grin
across her face. "It's twenty minutes late man, where have you been?
"Sir, I was late because my bike rammed into another bike and the other rider got off and
started yelling and the police then got involved and ....." "Okay, Okay Sharon. I admire the
**ingenuity* of your excuse. Come on in but on the first bench, next to noisy Joanne"
Siiirr" exclaimed a girl from one of the front benches.

Two girls behind her tried hard to suppress their laughter but it was quite *irrepressitble**
"Those two are Diya and Arielle" With all this distraction, some of the boys in the back
bench had **unraveled** their classwork and were busy talking to each other. "Peter,
Maheshwar and Vishaal! Take your romance outside the class, for now complete your
drawings." Sir walked around to look at everyone's work. He looked like he wanted to
**apprehend** somebody who hadn't started the irs as yet. Sure enough, he found
Someone.

"Nandita, stop staring at the boys on the field and give some attention to class also. Is this
what the NCCteaches you? Nandita gave a sheepish smile and bent her head over the
book. On hearing the word NCC, another boy shot his head up to look over to his comrade
"Steve, finished? Sir asked.

"YES SIR!" he shouted "Aye this is a class, not a dril" Sir said while covering his ears
"SORRY SIR!" Steve shouted again
The class finally settled in as everyone was busy mulling over their work and just when it
seemed like nothing could disturb the **tranquil** silence, the bell rang
Arijeet walked out in a daze. So many things had **happened** in one single class.
"Maybe this is what they mean by the **rapture** " he pondered "Shit, Inever found out
Sir's name!" Arijeet **rushed** back to the classroom hoping to find the teacher but came
crashing into a running figure.
"Sorry... "he began to say and was mildly surprised to see his English teacher "Sir,
what...." Arijeet began with his question
"I'm sorry, I'm late for another class, need to run..."

And with that, the odd teacher disappeared into the crowd.
