• Be prepared to discuss these questions during the teachers’ competence test.

1. What was your lesson objective? Did you verbally and visually make your students aware of
the objective?

My lesson objective is 1. students are able to identify simple questions in English in the
daily class activity., 2. Students can understand simple questions given so that the students
can ask and answer simple questions in the daily class activity.
Yes, we did. We make the students repeat what we say and we emphasize the students
by our gesture and practice in class room activity. We often drill the students until they get
used to with new vocabularies given. We always review our previous lesson and material
before the students grab next lesson.

2. How did you task analyze in preparation for this lesson? (i.e., technical and frequent
vocabulary, fewest facts needed, when and why this is important to learn, what are the
steps in the thinking process, etc.)

Fist of all, we recognize the students by name. then, we know their type and
characteristic of learning. Next, we understand how far the lesson they reach and the
capability of their understanding in English. Finally, we decide what kind of methods and
lessons should we give to our students based on their knowledge and understanding in
English.

3. How did your planning and preparation for this lesson lead to the desired results?

To get the best desired results, we need to identify how and why we must treat the
students. We must prepare what tools we need to empower our lesson in teaching them such
as teaching tools. We prepare available facilities to encourage the capability of students’
understanding in English lesson, moreover at SDICT al Abidin, speaking is preferable in
deepening the skill. It makes us focus to prepare and plan the materials that tend to speaking
skill to gain our desired results in speaking.

4. How do you see the materials you used helped you to carry out your lesson plan?

At SDICT al abidin, we promote our paperless program. In this program, we are not
supposed to use the papers as main materials in our teaching learning so we use the computer
as our basis activity for teaching and learning activity. To carry our lesson plan out, we
prepare some supporting tools such as LCD, recorded, sound, wifi and other electronics that
make our teaching learning run well and to educate the students how important English in
technology era.

5. How were all students pre-assessed before the lesson began and if needed, what
differentiation was made?

We usually use previous materials as the main lesson to pre-assessed the students orally
or sometimes we use kahood or Quizzez apps for doing pre-assessed in our classroom
activities. we make the differentiation in assessing the students. By using different tools and
apps every assessing the students, they can understand many kinds of assessing tools to their
knowledge and their skill needed.

6. How did you elicit student engagement throughout the entire lesson? Give examples.

In every lesson we teach our students, we are as their facilitators to gain their
understanding. The teacher is not the main source of knowledge anymore as our previous
curriculum. But the students must be the main subject for their learning so the teacher makes
autonomous lesson plans in their fist meeting, so students can study by themselves anywhere
and everywhere.
Involving the students in every teaching learning process is really necessary to eager the
students desire to knowing more and thirsty in gaining knowledge. For example, we ask the
students to answer the question given and they will not be sleepy for our lesson. We ask them
one by one to come forward, then we give students some questions to be answered by them
and etc.

7. Did you notice particular students who were not engaged in the lesson? Could you note any
reasons for this? How did you re-engage them?

We are as teachers must not ignore students whatever their conditions. They usually
cannot catch the lesson up, they get some boredoms, and sometimes they are really busy with
their businesses. To overcome the problems, we need some strategies to make students re-
engage in our teaching-learning process.
The first method is to make sure we understand what the students’ problem is. The
second, we click our topic related to their interest. The third, we flow what they are talking
about. The finally, we lead their topic to our lesson. This method often works in our
classroom teaching-learning activity.

8. How would you describe student behavior and climate in your classroom during the lesson?
What actions or strategies have you implemented to establish the climate?

In our class we make teaching learning situation is fun, interesting, and conducive. To
create those situations, we must make them sure that English is really important for their
future life. In other hand, we make some rules to make standardize behavior what they can do
and do not.
The students make the rules by themselves in commitment forum and the teacher opens
the discussion and election for discussing the rules. Then the teacher writes every
commitment rules the make to be printed out and sticked out in front of the class. Every
opening the class, a delegated student reads aloud the rules so it makes all of the students
always remember what they have committed.
