Narrator In the street … [Peter goes to play with his friends.]

[A man is walking his dog.]
Mrs Potts Ooohooo! Mr Lock! This is my
sister’s son, Peter. He needs your help. Lock Excuse me, sir! What can you tell
me about the picnic thief?
Lock [taking off his helmet and getting
off the motorbike] Hello, Peter. Key Yeah, where were you at this time
Well, I don’t ... yesterday?
Key No problem, Peter. What’s the matter? Man Oooh! I was at a picnic. Here in the
park.
Peter Well, there’s a picnic thief in Baker’s
Park. Lock [writing in his notebook] Aha!
So, you like picnics.
Lock Bah! A picnic thief ...
[A big bird is taking Peter’s sandwiches.]
Key Let’s go and see!
Key [shouting] Lock! I’ve got the picnic
thief … or, er, it’s got me! Help!
Narrator In the park …
[Some children are playing football in [Key runs into the lake and gets the
