The Medan Police in North Sumatra arrested 45-year-old Joniar Nainggolan and 41-year-old Benni
Eduward Hasibuan for allegedly spreading a hoax after the two published a video on YouTube. In the video,
a police officer is accused of failing to pay his vehicle tax.

The police arrested the two YouTubers on Tuesday after Joniar’s channel, Joniar News Pekan
(Joniar News Weekly), published the video on Aug. 10. The video shows both YouTubers exposing that a car
registered in the name of a police officer named Johansen Ginting was in possible tax arrears of Rp 3.7
million (US$249).

The YouTubers said they managed to find out about the alleged tax arrears after checking the plate
number with the North Sumatra Vehicle Document Registration Center online database. The police said the
arrest was made as Joniar and Benni were accused of spreading a hoax, charging them under articles 45 and
45A of the 2008 Electronic Information and Transactions Law, which carries a maximum sentence of six
years' imprisonment.

Thousands of people packed shoulder-to-shoulder with no face masks in sight, frolicking on rubber
floats and cheering along to a music festival. It's not a very 2020 image, but it was the scene this weekend
in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where Covid-19 first emerged late last year.

Pictures of partygoers at the Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park - looking very much removed from
the outbreak that the rest of the world continues to battle - have now gone, well, viral. Wuhan went into a

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has named Coordinating Legal, Political and Security Affairs
Minister Mahfud MD chairperson of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) for the 2020-2024 term.
The appointment, stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 54/M/2020 on the dismissal and appointment of
Kompolnas members issued on Aug. 11, also saw several other state officials, law enforcement experts and
public figures taking up various posts within the state body.

The Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in West Java has ranked first out of 15 higher education
institutions listed in the Education and Culture Ministry’s 2020 university first cluster, the highest of five
clusters in which the ministry ranks universities based on their level of development. In addition to
crediting previous leaders of the university, IPB rector Arif Satria said the achievement was due to the hard
work of the entire school community.

“This is the result of everyone’s hard work. I appreciated all the academics, faculty members and
alumni who continued to be united and earnest in advancing the IPB,” Arif said on Monday as quoted by
kompas.com.

The ministry used several indicators to rank the universities, including the number of academic
papers published by lecturers, research and community service performance, percentage of alumni that
were employed within six months of graduating, lecturer to student ratio and the number of patents owned
