Dear Diary,

Today has been the most exciting day I experienced in my life so far!

This morning my family and I took a flight to Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China for a trip. When we
arrived at hotel, my little sister Amy couldn’t wait to go bungee jumping at the Grand Canyon
Bungee Jumping place, which is the legendary world's highest bungee jump. I was not able to
refuse her enthusiastic request, so I went to bungee jumping with her together. Looking
back now, I'm really glad that I promised to accompany her; otherwise, I would have definitely
regretted it. There is much to tell! Let me start at the beginning...

It took us about one hour to reach our destination by taxi. After getting out
of the taxi, Amy and I first came to the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge. Walking on the
transparent glass bridge, I looked down at the scene under my feet through the glass. Woah! I
almost jumped out of my skin! I was deeply surprised by the sight in front of my eyes: the
steep mountains were covered with lush green trees and lined with grey rocks of various
shapes. This can’t be happening! 😲 It’s so gorgeous! I thought to myself at the time. Oh my
god! What a view!)

After that, we arrived at the bungee jumping place. We had to walk up fifty flights of stairs to
get to the top. I was exhausted! The place was extremely high that it is said to be more than
two hundred and sixty meters above the ground. The cool breeze in the air blew on my face
and I couldn't help but shiver. When I saw the view from the top, my eyes popped out of my
head. What in the world was I thinking? Am I crazy? Why did I come to this place just to be
scared? My hands were as cold as ice, and the blood inside my body seemed to freeze. What
was I thinking? I was terrified! Looking down at the hundred-meter height below the jumping
platform, I suddenly felt like fainting. My feet were as heavy as lead, and it was all I could do to
move forward one step. Amy was just as scared as I was, so she wanted to do a double bungee
jump with me. In this way, we can jump down the mountains simultaneously. Knowing that I
would probably die in a few seconds, I readily agreed to her request.

We both put on the harness together with helmets and stood stiffly on the edge of the
platform. Listening to the staff's instructions, Amy and I held each other, squeezed our hands
together, closed our eyes, and three...two...one.... OOF! Somebody pushed us! At
that very moment, stopped breathing. Whoosh! The wind was blowing in my ears, and I
couldn't hear anything but my own and Amy's screams. We were screaming at the top of our
lungs! We were falling so far! It felt like we would never stop! As the bungee cord stretched
longer and longer, I gradually adjusted to my fall. I still held myself taut but opened my eyes
again and looked at the scene around me. The world was totally upside down in my eyes, with
the blue sky below and a deep canyon above my head. As we bounced up, I felt as light as
air, but in the rapid descent, my stomach was in my throat.

Soon, I couldn’t believe it was almost over. Back on the platform, Amy's and my voices
were hoarse, and our legs felt like noodles, so we had to slowly walk back to the glass bridge
and sit down to rest. What a crazy experience! This experience today really filled me full of
excitement, and it made me realize something very important.

I can do anything, if I can survive this! Every problem in life depends on your effort and
attitude. If I am brave enough to face my fear, then nothing will stop me from achieving my
goal!

Note to self: NEVER AGAIN! This was a great experience, but the fear of death was just too
much. Next time, I would like to try something a little bit less dangerous, like knitting.

I am completely exhausted now. I’m heading off for a well-deserved rest.

Good night!
