…ORMIN pa more!

Sa Oriental Mindoro, tara na!

Silipin ang ganda

Mula Bulalacao hanggang Puerto Galera,

Pumasyal at magbiyahe na…

I found myself tapping the table to its rhythm…I felt my heartbeat faster as I listened to

this song by Tribung Ma-it that won the 65th Oriental Mindoro Theme Song Competition. It had

me wanting to go there right that moment, wondering what is in store for me in the province that

they consider the Southern Tagalog’s primary food basket and tourist destination. But in

traveling, these questions remain—what do we want to do? How much is our budget? How will

we get there? How many days will we stay? What can we do in that time?

For me, traveling and touring are get-aways, which literally means “to get away”. We

travel and tour to deviate from our ordinary days, make special memories, and learn new things

on the way. What we want is a trip to remember, but of course, it also has to be convenient—this

is why we search for travel guides. And so, I did my homework, and this is what I found…

Lakbay Oriental Mindoro—as I searched my way through the internet trying the sate my

growing curiosity of the place, I landed on this website. It’s a tourism mobile application and

website introduced by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro in partnership with the

Tourism Promotions Board of the Department of Tourism. A one-stop solution to all our

information seeking of all things OrMin has to offer.

“Lakbay” basically means travel or journey, the very essence of tourism. However, the

name itself denotes a deeper sense of a journey, signifying the full immersion of a traveler to the

heart and soul of Oriental Mindoro.

With this website, we are only a click away from all the things we need. It shows

enchanting destinations in Oriental Mindoro including a list of activities and entertainments, with

a special section for places to dive through the beauty of the marines. You can also check for

various festivities as well as wide range of accommodations and shops serving gastronomical

delights, souviniers, and basic needs. Not only that, but you can also access the contact

information and physical address of different tourism offices as well as travel and tour agencies

associated with their services. Moreover, there are pages dedicated to the diverse and vibrant

culture and extensive history of OrMin and its 15 municipalities.

What’s more is that we get a peek of what to expect with the numerous pictures

accompanying detailed descriptions of all things Oriental Mindoro. I surfed through the many

sections of the website, and I just felt connected to their view of the place. One of which is

TurismoTV—through its high-quality videos, I got a taste of the briny waters as I caught a

glimpse of Alma Jane Wreck, located in Puerto Galera, in one of their footages. It was

breathtaking…I mean, how can simple presentation of a few minutes be so tempting? It was as if

OrMin is a chest of raw gems but this site, its like a beautifully arranged jewelry box. You get to

explore the polished charm of the province by municipality—from Puerto Galera all the way to

Bulalacao.

So, if you want to travel, Lakbay Oriental Mindoro is your go-to site in touring the

province. That was a scoop of excitement, expectation, and experience—a touch of reality that

let us explore OrMin from the tip of our fingers. But there are only so much you can discover
