1. Explain with neat diagrams the conduction sequence in 6-pulse bridge converter
(without overlap).

2. Give the assumptions to simplify the analysis of Graetz’s circuit under balanced
sinusoidal 3-phase operation.

of valves (without overlap) considering = 30°.

4. Derive the expression for average DC output voltage with phase control for 6-pulse
bridge converter.

5. Explain inverter operation with voltage and current waveforms for 6-pulse bridge
converter.

6. Define: (i) Commutation (ii) Commutating Voltage (iii) Commutation reactance (iv)
Peak Inverse Voltage (PIV) (v) Volt-ampere rating of a valve (vi) Pulse number.

7. Give the analysis of 12-pulse converter with schematic diagram (Without overlap).

8. Sketch the current waveform of the transformer secondary line current of a 12-pulse
converter.
