Chapter 4

Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

Chapter four gives the findings of the study. It consists of

two parts: (1) Descriptive Data Analysis and (2) Inferential Data

Analysis.

Part one, Descriptive Data Analysis, reveals the profile of

the respondents and the Acceptability of public utility vehicle

modernization Program as perceived by Mandurraio district

residents when taken as a whole and when they are classified as

to age, sex, family monthly income.

Part two, Inferential Data Analysis, reveals whether a

significant difference existed in Acceptability of public utility

vehicle modernization Program as perceived by Mandurraio district

residents when taken as a whole and when they are classified as

to age, sex, family monthly income.

Descriptive Data Analysis

This section reveals the profile of the respondents and the

Acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization Program as

perceived by Mandurraio district residents when taken as a whole

and when they are classified as to age, sex, family monthly

income.

Mean, frequency count and percentage were utilized.


Profile of the Respondents

There was a total of 108 respondents. When they were

classified according to age, 19 (17.6%) who were 20 years old and

below and 89 (82.4%) who were 21 years old and above. When they

were classified according to sex, there were 55 (50.9%) were

males, and 53 (49.1%) were females. When they are classified

according to their family monthly income, 40 (37.0%) has an come

of 5,000 pesos and below, 37 (34.3%) has an income of 5,000-

10,000 pesos, and 31 (28.7%) has an income of 10,000 pesos and

above. The data are reflected in table 1.

The Acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization

Program as perceived by Mandurraio district residents

As a whole, the findings revealed that the Acceptability of

public utility vehicle modernization Program as perceived by

Mandurraio district residents were “Acceptable” with a mean of

3.8426.

When classified as to age, 20 and below (M=3.3061) and 21

and above (M=3.8876) respondents were “Acceptable”.

When classified as to sex, both male (M= 3.9091) and female

(M=3.7736) respondents were “Acceptable”.

In terms of their family monthly income, results revealed

that those who have below 5, 000 (M=3.7750), 5, 000 to 10, 000

(M=3.8649), and 10, 000 and above (M=3.9032) were “Acceptable”

The data were reflected in table 2.

Inferential Data Analysis

This section reports on the inferential data and their

respective analysis and interpretations. The findings of the


study revealed whether significant differences existed in the

degree Acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization

Program as perceived by Mandurraio district residents when taken

as a whole and when they are classified as to age, sex, family

monthly income. Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Test were

used, the level of Significance was set at p < 0.05.

Significant difference in the acceptability of public

utility vehicle modernization Program as perceived by Mandurraio

district residents when taken as a whole and when they are

classified as to age, sex, family monthly income.

When classified according to age, the data revealed that

there is no significant difference in the acceptability of public

utility vehicle modernization Program as perceived by Mandurraio

district residents, having the U Test of -1.701 and p-value of

0.089 which was higher than the set 0.05 level of significance;

thus, the hypothesis is rejected.

When classified according to sex, the result of the study

revealed that there is no significant difference in the

acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization Program as

perceived by Mandurraio district residents, having the U Test of

-0.969 and p-value of 0.333 which was higher than the set 0.05

level of significance; thus, the hypothesis is rejected.

When classified according to family monthly income, the data

revealed that there is no significant difference in the


acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization Program as

perceived by Mandurraio district residents, having the U Test of

1.080 and p-value of 0.583 which was higher than the set 0.05

level of significance; thus, the hypothesis is rejected.

The Data is reflected in table 3.1.

Significant difference in the acceptability of public

utility vehicle modernization Program as perceived by Mandurraio

district residents in terms of family monthly income.


As shown in Table 3.2, there were no significant differences

in the acceptability of public utility vehicle modernization

Program as perceived by Mandurraio district residents in terms of

Family Monthly Income, when the respondents are classified

according to their monthly income, having a p-value of 0.583

which were higher than the 0.05 alpha level; therefore, the

hypothesis was rejected.
