● Based on PSA’s 2009 Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) codes, the
following sub-sectors are related to the film industry: Printing and Reproduction of
Recorded Media (Code 18); Motion Picture, Video and Television Programme
Production, Sound Recording and Music Publishing Activities (Code 59); Programming
and Broadcasting Activities (Code 60); and Employment Activities (Code 78).

● As presented in Table 1, most sub-sectors related to the film industries showed an


increase in employment level from 2016 to 2019 except for Programming and
Broadcasting Activities.

● The sub-sectors with the highest increase in employment were Printing and
Reproduction of Recorded Media (19.3% or +17,000), and Employment Activities
(21.2% or +12,000).
